Hello and welcome to the channel, this channel is dedicated to my life behind the levers being a plant operator in the UK.
The excavator i currently drive is a 2021 Volvo EC220 but I do operator other machinery from time to time.
I work for my local construction company so content will be based around that type of earthworks/civils work, as well as other excavator based content i hope you will enjoy.

Cracking job, looking at starting a mobile mechanic business from a similar sized van, thanks for the ideas
Very nice video mate. Thanks and have a successful week
Do you still need a CPCS to do this at JCB ?
I am Indian. I am also JCB 3dx operator.
I always thought a loader backhoe was a very useful machine last one I used was in2003 which was a massey ferguson 50b my last company had did my cscs at Bircham Newton with jcb 3cx in early 1980s the company I am with now only use 360 machines but on some jobs I think to my self a backhoe could do this better and quicker And I will admit I do miss using them
Oh woooooow Nice Place 👍 Nice video 👍 I Love JCB Machine I also Operator I Operating JCB Machine
Amigo bendiciones para ti y Felicitaciones por esa belleza de maquina con la cual trabajas DIOS quiera algun dia me de la oportunidad de trabajar en una maquina de este estilo es una pasion ❤ a cumplir

Would love to try a rotor tilt out or equivalent, I bet it’s an absolute game changer!
Hi ya mate, I've just subscribed to your channel and got to say I'm really enjoying your content so far 💪
Hi mate, cheers for the comment its really appreciated 👌

It's a great machine, may God grant it to everyone.
great video really enjoyed it. impressed by your positive attitude and skills as an operator
Appreciate the comment thank you ✌️
Nice now you need some good bucket :)
Definitely wouldn’t say no to more buckets mate 😉😁👍
And then you finish with 1 truck full of bucket like me :) @@lifebehindthelevers
😁😁😉
unusual to direct fit a rototilt to a such big machine. Normaly its detachable.
Absolutely totally agree, all companies are different, this tilt rotator so far seems to fit our set up really well. 👌
I’d never want a machine without a tiltrotator on! I’ve been running Engcon units for about 7 years, the best decision I’ve ever made. Give yourself 5 days, you’ll be operating it like a Jedi 👍🏻
I’m starting to think the same mate, the time & effort saved to do similar jobs is incredible. I’m slowly starting to get it all synced in..head down & levers swinging 👍 Appreciate the comment mate, all the best for 2024 🤝
I'd love to do the sort of work you do ,I've had an engcon on my machine for over 12 months now together with trimble gps it's brilliant enjoy it mate
I’m definitely enjoying the earthworks & GPS Colin, I feel you can get so much more graft done interrupted with the trimble 👍
This was back before Plantworks then? You must have the hang of it now? 😆 You certainly seemed to have mastered it at the show
Still catching up with last years videos mate, Rototilt was fitted a week before Plantworx (next video) I’m going to do a 1000hr review on the Rototilt, I’ve got loads of footage through the weeks and months upto that. And how I found getting to grips with it 👍
Top job James, and you do a really great job of showing us through the stages you do to get to the final product. Looking forward to seeing more vids from you
Cheers mr Gunns appreciate that 👍 don’t think il ever be as comfortable talking on camera as you though, more videos coming. All the best for 2024 Ollie lad 🍻
Absolute professional👌👌
Wow..thank you! 🙌 All the best for 2024 my friend 👍
Those 220’s grade so well, nice job 👍🏻
Volvo got the hydraulics dialled 👌Appreciate it Neil, all the best for 2024
Very tidy work mate ,true what you say about volvo I've had volvo and gps for a few years but boss decided to give me a case 130 e what a pile of crap gutless uncomfortable cheep crap volvo are no 1
Absolutely Colin, it’s just a well put together work horse. Pleasure to get in it everyday 💪 Really appreciate the comment mate, all the best for 2024 🍻
How old is your 220 and any issues with it
Hello mate, it’s a 2021 with 5000hrs. It’s only ever let me down once with a bust hydraulic hose. Anything else has been minor and would just get rectified on its normal service schedule. Incredible machine 💪
They call it driving through your arse. When using the bucket as a blade you can fell if you are level when traking it in .this fella is a bloody good driver
Absolutely perfect analogy mate 😂 love this comment, thanks for watching it’s much appreciated 👍
Thank you for this video. I'm considering a career as an excavator operator and I'm looking for courses.
Thanks for watching and good luck for the future mate 👍
what equipment do you use to record your videos?
Hi there, I’m using a GoPro 10. Thanks for watching 👍
@@lifebehindthelevers thanks
Hello friend. Greetings from Korea. I booked jcb's Friday factory tour and have some questions. 1. Is it hard to get to that place by public transportation? 2.Or are they running shuttle buses as well? 3. Are experiences such as pt.2 included in the tour?
Hello there Sean, hope you are well. There are public transport options. You would get the train to Uttoxeter Station and then take a bus into Rocester - there is a bus stop about 3 minute walk away from the JCB Visitors Centre. There are no shuttle buses running unfortunately. As for pt2 of the video, that was a demo day for the 4cx. Unfortunately JCB don’t do a public visit to include that. Hope this has helped and you enjoy your trip to JCB 👍
@@lifebehindthelevers thank you for you kindness reply!! This business trip is also my first visit to UK. I can't wait! hope you always happy
😍😍😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Good vid mate. As you say 3cx in the right hands is the most versatile machine out there. Was always my favourite machine.
The original backbone of British sites 💪
Lovely job, 👏
Much appreciated..made a few more changes will do an update soon 👍
Love the vid 👌🏼 where did you get the wooden storage that you’re tool box is sat on in the back thanks 👍🏼👍🏼
Hi Zack, thanks for the comment. They are the “Konnect units” from B&Q. Bought these years ago I had them in my previous van too. 👍
Great build and a nice tribute to our beloved Queen. May she Rest In Peace.
Much appreciated, thank you. All the best to you Andrew 👍
Heard in Dublin many years ago: What's the difference between a JCB and a giraffe? Well, the JCB has high drollicks and the giraffe has high . . . .
😂😂
just found this channel, insta subscribed. Im about to do a careerchange and study to become a excavator operator ^^
Thank you for subscribing..Good luck & please let me know how you get on 👍
Dobra robota 😊
Thank you 🙏
I am heavy equipment operator sir
My brother 👍
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
🙏
Hi mate is that Trimble gps semi automatic?
Hi there, thanks for the comment. This set-up is manual, no semi or full autos.
I am from india can i get this job
With the correct channels you can do whatever you dream to do 👌
Good work brother
Appreciate the comment my friend 👍
Are you ever expected to get out and do any Labour work when you m’re a heavy machine operator?
Hi, sorry for the late reply. Il always get out the machine if someone needs a hand with something. It all depends on the site or type of work your carrying out though. Usually there’s no need for the operator to get out, so they can keep the excavator grafting 💪
I am very disappointed in jcb they promised me so much and gave me nothing so I don't trust them anymore and now looking at case digger I told them that I was starting up on my own and would like one of their 3cx and I was told that they would not be interested in helping me with the purchase of a machine due to me being a fresh customer and asking for the machine to be on finance and in mid conversation the jcb rep put the phone down on me its not a company I will promote
That is not the company for starters. That could be for a myriad of reasons!!
Looking at the GPS screen and the grade level metre , what does i5 mean when it turns orange and does change level?
Hi Jordan sorry for the late reply, when working near buildings & trees sometimes the GPS will struggle to pick up signal. Thats all the orange on the screen is telling me.
Tidy setup would be good to see a full tour 👌🏽
Full van tour is coming don’t worry mate, Vans had some more additions added too 😉👌
Nice work, looking forward to seeing more of the pond works
Cheers mr Dunn, more videos inbound 😎👍
Hi mate what’s the best way to get into plant operating as everywhere is looking for experienced people and not beginners but you can’t become experienced if they don’t give you a chance thank you love the videos
There isn’t really a best or easy way, it just depends on yourself. What you may lack in experience you need to make up in other areas, just be a reliable, hard working, keen operator. Sometimes that means a lot more to companies than having an unreliable, lazy experience operator. Hope this helps mate, appreciate the comment 👍
@@lifebehindthelevers thankyou
So nice work
Appreciate that mate 😎👍
