I built a shop in my back yard and some toys for my boys. Now I'm just sharing some of the random repairs and projects that we tackle in this place. As well as some adventures along the way. Glad you could stop by.
Good explanation and tips. Now I need to find out if my swirl flap motor is good or not !

@Steadyglok2 күн бұрын
Since I can’t get the predator in California no more
@MalarkeyTaylorКүн бұрын
I would say the 212 would be close to what came on the mini bike originally and the 301 would be a little bigger. But which is right might depend on what the rider is and how fast you want to go!

It's also worth mentioning that the 2003 Dodge Ram factory service manual states that the clutch air gap should be between .016' and .031". The 2003 also retains the clutch with a nut instead of a bolt like the clutch shown in this video. The torque for the nut is 11-15 ft-lbs.

Hello , do I need to move with hand first those flaps to open position , or just to put resistor ?
@MalarkeyTaylor29 күн бұрын
If they are not in the open position when you put the resistor in the engine light may go away but your engine may not perform right and may end up with problems due to the flaps not being open. If they can’t be easily opened by hand you may need to take the entire intake off and clean it and fix the worn connecting rods to get the full range of the flaps back. Or delete them entirely.

I have a 2003 Dodge 3500 Cummins. Your compressor has a tapped hole on the end and that retains the clutch. My compressor shaft is longer and a hex nut retains the clutch. This makes it a pain to remove the snap ring because the compressor shaft is in the way. I had to remove the four air compressor bolts and rotate it down so I could use snap ring pliers with straight tips. The angled tips cannot be used because of the compressor shaft protrudes out so far. The ID bearing for your pulley has a slip fit with the compressor shaft journal. Mine has a press fit so it can't be installed in the truck. After all that, I had to pull the compressor so I could press on the pulley.

Lol, a day late and a dollar short as usual. I just dropped the tank last monday to address what was an ongoing hard start/leak. Replaced all of the lines and the seal around the pump. Next day had a slight leak, a couple days later gas was literally pouring from the tank while it was running. Lost 15 gallons in 50 miles. Decided to replace everything and give it the black silicone treatment just to be sure. Replaced the pump housing, fresh pump and filters, found there was somehow a hole in the return line (probably where all the new flood was coming from) after replacing it all it seems like our problems are solved for now 😅 😢 😂. Wish me luck, and ill pray for your xj, lol.

On the back of an XJ, the mount is a rubber loop with a j-hook. The factory connection is a clamp. So they did the same. If they weld that mount it will vibrate and break and it’s impossible to get out for maintenance. So it’s only in the back at the mount. The rest is welded.
