I may be attending a flight school that uses Diamond aircraft exclusively. Looking forward to it! Appreciate the informative, detailed videos! (Would be awesome if they offered a side stick option)
Petty maybe, but if the TTx had the T-handle, center console throttle set up like Cirrus, would been the icing on the cake! Looks like Cirrus has better back seat visibility, too.
Got to see y’all’s booth in person!! Bought a 40NG from Premier a few months ago. love the 50 and 62! I hope Diamond puts out a bigger model someday
I hear that the night show is fabulous. We left too soon.
Side stick option would be awesome!
Sign me up, much cheaper than the vision.
I liked the drunk guy skit because somehow a lot of people thought it was real😂
I'm not an owner, just an enthusiast and former pilot.....but it would be a tough choice. I would pick the Diamond I believe due to similar reasons, where I used to also fly the DA40 and loved it especially with the center stick and the styling of it with the extra room. But Cirrus' parachute and livery options are amazing.
It was bought out by a CCP owned company. Where do you think the profits are going. Anyone supporting China is in un- American. Quit hoing for anything China. Wake up people. China is NOT our friend.
Man do i love RDU
You can pick up a Mooney hundreds of thousand less and have an around better plane
I would only get the DA if I was going to eventually get the DA62 just for familiarity of the controls, cockpit, etc. I just like the idea of the 22 better because you don’t have to worry about the landing gear part and also the peace of mind of the parachute. Both planes are 🔥 though.
If ur from NC We are friends now😊
NC is where we call home!
stupid question - just started flying. winter (below freezing) + no de-incing on the plane + flying close to clouds. What pre-cautions should one take for that?
I see floor field in the wellness Arena
Thanks for flying my hometown man. I love you.
Only 650000 usd ?? 😂😂😂😂😂😂what a bargain ? For this amount I buy a Cessna 414a and fly lifetime including fuel, hangar and maintenance
Thanks for this video. I totally agree with everything you said about the DA40. It is the better, more modern and safer plane. And while I love the Skyhawk for what it represents to aviation history it's a mystery to me how Cessna can still sell the C172 for almost the same price as the Diamond. However I cannot fathom how you can still try to project some semblance of impartiality here. Especially saying in the end none were good and bad, just different after you spent the whole video highlighting the advantaged of the Diamond and only going back to the Cessna to show where it is inferior. You found exactly ZERO characteristics where the Skyhawk was superior and even if you found stuff like visibility down in a high wing you immediately found something to make it go away. So basically your video is not a comparison of two similarly priced aircraft with different philosophies, it's a video that shows the C172 today is a crappy dinosaur displaced in time.
To be fair, lifestyle aviation has been favorable towards Dimaond 😂
It is a matter of horses for courses. This aircraft would almost exactly fit my likely mission profile in the country I live in, it will get into more airfields than most and range is not a huge issue. It's fuel capacity and my bladder capacity align well. So it would suit me. I can understand why people want more airplane, but the number of times there are all seats full on a privaye aircraft is far less than most people think!
My home town P.S. GSP is better though
I bought a Bristell during the pandemic and totally love it. I’ve flown the DA 40 and it’s a great airplane. My next airplane will probably be the new Bristell with the Rotax 916 engine, Retracts and adjustable prop. It’s cheaper than a new cirrus, DA 40 or DA 50 and probably faster and more economical. Who needs four seats? If you do well, that’s a different story.
I always fly from RDU on every flight even International it’s the closest international airport from me I live in Greenville North Carolina the airport only holds A 319 A 320 and crj’
What?
@@ContentHouseOfficial what? You got a problem
first, I have no flight hours in either plane but I would prefer the DA50. I am totally loving the look of the plane, and all I have read about it so far. I fly 172 currently.
The seats look like they are straight out of an Audi.
You guys really gloss over the performance numbers and move onto other things.
Seesome video 👍🏾
Sweet landing 🙏🏾
Def take the Diamond.
Nice aircraft
wait why are there 911 likes
No question. Da50!
man i have an idea for the back seat and the doors: the idea is to make the doors air locked, remove the back seat, install an oxygen and a rocket fuel tank to the back seats place, and lastly install a rocket motor. with all that you can fly up real high and enjoy the view.
Why keep your hand near the stick with an experienced pilot.
Nice video. Nice to see an area I know and go to often from the sky!
Welcome to greenville pal! Careful for potholes 😅
Yo im from cary north carolina, did you check us out + fellas from the triangle
Greenville, SC is in the house!
I think the analysis of gliding the DA-50 into a field “under control” versus pulling the parachute is pretty flawed. Even fields that look inviting from the air can have furrows, ruts, rocks, hidden walls, and hard-to-see fences and wires. DA-50 stall speed is 58 knots, or about 65 miles per hour. If you manage a full-stall landing, you still have to bring 65mph to a stop, and the plane weighs over 3,000 pounds *empty*. The Cirrus descends at 12 knots under the parachute, and has structures specifically designed (and proven) to absorb the remaining energy. I would take the Cirrus over the DA-50 in an engine failure scenario almost always. That said, I’d sure like to have a more modern Jet-A engine in the Cirrus.
Pilots aren't what they used to be. Real pilots don't need a parachute on a GA plane
If I ever get the money, the perfect solution is 1-DA40NG, 1-DA50, 1-DA62, 1-SR22T, and 1-Cirrus Vision Jet! The only problem I'll have is WHICH plane to fly for a specific trip! Oh, the difficulties in that life!🤣😅
DA42 would be my choice. No large A pillar. Dual engine redundancy… good useful load.
The DA50 would be my choice.
Between the two Cirrus is a much better option, fixed gear, air cooled, has parachute and has side yoke. On those long cross country flights center stick will be very uncomfortable. Even for getting in and out center stick is uncomfortable. Personally I went with a Columbia, in my opinion it is best of both worlds, fast, efficient, and fun to fly.
I saw you in the sky earlier
Hmm...The real next level, pressurizing. As a result, I still prefer a pressurized Centurion /C210 with an updated panel, ....to either the Cirrus or Diamond. The other benefit - While Cirrus has a solid support network, Cessna is superior.
Available for how much now?! And don't give me the brand new price!
The DA50 has one other benefit that wasn't talked about: It runs on Jet-A. Jet-A is not only cheaper than 100LL, it also doesn't contain lead, it's cleaner, and you use less of it, making operating costs even less. I'd take the DA50 over the Cirrus any day (but since I can't afford either, I'm going to continue flying my 177RG 😂)
Also, it's readily available all over the world compared to avgas. the downside of the da50 is that you're sacrificing range compared to the sr22 😢
Lol a 177rg is cool. I have to rent 😭😭
To say you would rather have a forcedlanding in any plane over a BRS pull is very short sighted.
