I watched this fight a few times. Ali 8 rounds and Norton 7 rounds. Even the referee had Ali winning because in those days the referee judged fights as well. The referee is in the ring with them he should know who's winning the fight 🥊. Arthur Mercanti was a legendary boxing referee that knew boxing 🥊
Im not getting why they stopped it at an 8 count when Foreman was on his feet. And why did they allow him to clench Foremans head the entire match? We have to give half the credit to the ring ropes for the assist to Ali. He's great but he used the ropes as a Lazy boy .
Why did Foreman hit Ali's hips? That's crazy. Frazier had good left hook and wasn't convenient for Ali because of his tendency to crouch. Foreman didn't have anything besides pure strength, so he could knock Frazier down with an uppercut while Ali couldn't because his punches had rather whipping nature. His combos had accumulative effect it can be seen in Foreman vs Ali fight. But because of the crouching nature of Frazier's style he couldn't knock him down with a pure combo. Keeping it all in mind, Foreman didn't need combos he could knock Frazier down with a single punch
What is also interesting is that Ali is past his prime and at this point he lost to Frazier and Ali

Doubt decision the judges were either paid for this shameful decision or they took it out of worship for Ali but the victory clearly came back to Norton who reached Ali much more solidly and more often (this said I do not take away absolutely nothing from Ali’s courage and ability to take devastating blows, I love him) but it was simply a theft.
What a crap fight. Foreman the first 2, Ali 3 and 4. 5 even. 6 even. The seventh to Ali. After that I couldn't be bothered watching anymore.

How in the World did Ali won that fight? Even at the end of round 15 Ali knew he lost. Norton was mocking him. Norton was the aggressor, the power puncher, the smarter fighter. I saw Norton win 9-10 rounds. Just look at each boxer’s corner. You’ll know the answer right away. Angelo Dundee knew that Ali clearly lost.
