    I think the European powers all had shiny new toys and new tactics to try out. If you are paying for an army, you may as well use it to take territory. War is big business as we all know.

    I’m sorry but I don’t know how you think it’s ambiguous. The USA invaded another country, with aims to conquer and annex said country…they failed…therefore they lost…evidenced by them turning and going home

  • @treystewart731
    @treystewart73128 күн бұрын

    And the U.S. also successfully repelled British counterattacks in its territory and Britain failed to acquire any of the concessions it was pushing for in peace negotiations. If anything, the U.S. actually came out better because Britain stopped supporting Native American raids in its territory, a concession that the U.S. was wanting.

  • @superdrew8564
    @superdrew856428 күн бұрын

    @@treystewart731 you fail to grasp that the Brits didn’t initiate an invasion. They REPELLED attacks…and just kept pushing the Americans back….its not complicated USA LOST that war Whether the USA came out better or worse doesn’t change the fact that they failed and lost

    I think the war of 1812 is more prevalent here in Michigan and southern Ontario. I was under the impression that everyone knew about this stuff. My home town has a memorial of sorts that is the foundation of a wheat press building next to a small waterfall. I used to swim there. My stepdad was also one of the canadians that tries to claim lineage from Sir Isaac Brock. My current town is named after a british major that never stepped foot in this state.

    Abraham Lincoln got his money to run for president from the textile mills up north legally left the union disgust when they were writing the constitution. If you freely join you can freely leave the south paid 70% of all taxes export tax import tax from cotton being sold in England and France, , Lincoln, intent to raise the taxes on cotton so the south will pay 100% the federal taxes Legally the south left the union and it took two years to free slaves but why because the black slaves were needed to be killed in combat the south was better shots!
