    Are you saying the S pin and the A pin will have constant 12v. I'm seeing vids where they are hooking up the trickle charger to the A pin. Are they both good?

  • @grollins3481
    @grollins34818 күн бұрын

    There may be some towing vehicles where the wiring to the 7-pin connector is different. This setup is what I've typically seen. When using this specific Hopkin's plug with a 7 pin to 6 pin cable coming from a 2018 Ford E450, only the S pin should have a constant 12v. The A pin should only get power when the E450 is put into Reverse. You could hook up a 7-pin to six pin connector cable to your towing vehicle and use a multimeter to verify which pin coming from the towing vehicle is always powered and which pin only gets power when the towing vehicle is put into reverse.

    I was a little concerned about that as well, but the rubber on the plugs is so thick that once you run the wires through it basically completely seals around the wires.

    I really like them, they've worked great since day one. The only con that I have noticed is the constant low power draw from the battery. The manufacturer recommends driving your vehicle at least once a week to ensure the battery stays charged. My jeep is not a daily driver and I may go 2 or 3 weeks without driving it. So I just pull the fuse if I know the jeep is going to be sitting for a while. It's an easy solution for me and if yours is a daily driver then it shouldn't be an issue.

    This has been a great motorhome for us. We have had only 1 real issue and that's the TV Channel reception. The dealership seems unable to figure out the problem and fix it. I think I have a bad coax cable and just haven't taken the time to troubleshoot it and try to fix it myself. I just connect my iPhone to the TV using an HDMI adapter and stream Netflix and so on. So I guess that's not really a problem. It also tows my Jeep with no problem. We have been very satisfied with it.

    I know this is a late answer because I just came across this video. I like to see how other people use their 30z. We bought a 2023 30 z in February 2023 we had a shade that was broken and they fixed it right away. Later our dinette started pulling away from the wall and our repair person just changed out the middle strip for a heavier one the longer screws. Our Onan generator had the fuel pump go out and luckily we had an Onan repair facility close by. Recently we had a plumbing leak outside underneath the bathroom sink area. Jayco has paid for everything. Minor issues. I hope this helps if you haven't if you haven't bought this specific unit yet.
