This guy was having a supper bad day before he hit the light. He made us move our truss to where it was supposed to hang, but that made the lift need to drive under the light. He had spent so much of his cognitive power arguing he had little left for his job.

Great question we have completely sealed the exterior of the original structure with adhero 3000. It can dry to the inside and the outside through vapor open assemblies inside and outside. This cellulose is completely outside the air barrier. We are also in zone 5 in the dry west and should have no moisture loading from the exterior.

What are you doing for a vaper barrier? If moisture isn't blocked the wall will fill with mold as the seasons change.

This project is in the western US. The ditch is an irrigation ditch. It is about 50 miles long. It’s in concrete in this section due to the mine and the water leaking into it.

My Dad used to be Director of Port Facilities for Conrail way back when. He dealt with a lot of coal, in Ashtabula, Ohio, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Fire was a constant headache for him, from the obvious standpoint of its destructive potential, but also the air pollution aspect since it was not burning in a controlled environment such as a power plant. One of my questions for him was why not simply put water on it. He told me that could actually exacerbate the situation, because water could mix with some of the elements in the coal and cause a thermal reaction that itself causes spontaneous combustion. No win situation with something like this. Look at Centralia, Pennsylvania...

Yes there is substantial mining throughout this area dating from the mid” 1800s. There were hundreds mine “adits” or entrances. There is one secret one that remains. In the past it was possible to walk underground long distances here even between towns.

With the equipment being so heavy, is there any concern about dropping down in a hole, or causing a collapse below? Very interesting. Thanks for the video.

Good question! Yes. We built that road for this purpose. It is engineered and takes a path to avoid large gathering rooms that would move allot if they collapsed. In the field where the excivation is most of the rooms are already collapsed fully or partially so any movement would be minimal there. also, in the excavation area a large part of the plan is actually to close the mind workings. Collapsing them in the excivation area can be part of that.

Very nice setup. EG4 Chargeverter question. If I have an EG4 continuously connected to battery and AC to my standby generator; does the EG4 maintain the last settings or does it reset to a default setting whenever AC power is disconnected. If it resets to default (whatever that is) and I have to re-input my charger settings every time, the EG4 won't work for me. Thank you.

The only time it would change is if you disconnect the battery. AC on and off has not been a problem.
