I wish they would get rid of the mini calendar on the weekly page too, it takes up room I could use. If I need to reference the month, I’ll just turn to the monthly page at the start of each month. Hopefully now that took it out the Daily Duo they will continue to take it out the rest of the planners. Also, I would love if they would add a coiled Daily Duo set up similar to the petite daily. So instead of a timed daily set up it would be more customizable like the petite daily. I would definitely add a Daily Duo system to my planner line up if they made that change.
I agree with all of that! I don’t like any of the mini monthly calendars, and I would LOVE a coiled version that looks like the petite daily! I don’t understand at all why there are different layouts in the petites than in coiled books, like the guided journals. The coiled ones are different than the petites. And I always like the petite version better. And then the A5 inserts have yet ANOTHER layout. I suppose it could be so there are different versions to fit different people, but it just seems like more work to reinvent the wheel.
I'm late to the game but I just ordered my A5 Daily Rings. I think I'll have more fun decorating them since I'm a deco person but also having times where I do pen only. Being able to remove single pages will be so handy I think. I'll have missed the month of July but I think I might have the energy and time to do at least some pen only back planning so I can have a record of what I did and when I did it. I've been trying to find some plan with mes but I think it might be hard with the daily unless it's posted after the fact.
Never too late! 😄 I think you will love it! One thing I’m trying with it this month is cutting slits through the holes of the daily pages so I can take them out and put them back in without opening my rings. So far it’s working well, but I only did it to one month just in case I didn’t like it. Lol. And if you haven’t seen her already, @creatingwithsarah does plan with me’s in the petite daily, which has a similar layout as the daily duo.
Don’t know if this is gonna help anyone, but I find that arc disc binding is probably perfect for my adhd brain! Because I can take all the wonderful ideas from each of the planners and put into one. Just need to print the template/make it yourself and add to the disc notebook. And if you don’t wanted it anymore, just take it out no problem and forget about it. I find having more than one options for planners already very overwhelming. So, having only one to go for is much better and being so easily customizable helps a lot. Right now, I’m in a journey of making a possible planner and sketchbook all in one hahaha

Yep! I think it’s sometime in the fall. I’m going to guess September, but we haven’t heard anything official yet. That’ll be when the softbound planners come out too.

Thank you! A slice tool is like a safer, more delicate knife for cutting paper or other craft materials. Some people use it for cutting stickers in half. I actually rarely use mine, but it’s handy to have sometimes. I’ve heard it won’t cut skin if you accidentally poke yourself with it, but I’ve never tried to find out. Lol. The blade is mostly protected so not much is exposed.
If you do buy LifePlanner refills you don't get all the extras. As a conscious consumer that makes me kind of sad because I'm just as commited to EC, just don't want to deal with the coils. But thanks for your review! I keep looking to find the things for the ring agenda and your review is great! I think I'm team colored in bar but I struggle to fill the sidebars!
Yeah, that’s true. I wish they came with all the extras too. I’ll be doing another video soon, probably by the end of June, with my new A5 setup for July. It’ll have the EC inserts (plus some other new sections I’m adding) in my A5 that I did a setup video for a couple months ago (if you want to see it, it shouldn’t be too far back). Also, I didn’t think about it until you mentioned it, but I think the reason I like the colored in sidebar is because I don’t often write anything there so I like that it’s filled in and pretty.

I would suggest the She’s In Her Apron weekly/daily planner, from Kimmy Hughes here on YT. There are monthly calendars-2 of them for each month, a weekly spread with lots of room for appointments, to-do/brain dump, menu planner, expenses tracker, and in the front there are list of your house broken into zones, weekly cleaning tasks inspired by FlyLady, and Easter, Thanksgiving & Christmas organizers built in the planner. They come in 6 month or 4 month books. Plus freezer inventory and car maintenance reference. Check out the daily spreads, with lots of space for routines, to do lists, scheduling. You’ll love it, I promise. Spendy but worth it, for me. Loved the video!

I am thinking of getting the daily in either an a5 or the 7x9. Do you have either? Do you find the a5 too small at all? Also debating between the a5 coiled vs binder. Pros and cons?
I have been using the coiled A5 daily for the past year (and before that too), and I tried the 7x9 before also. I prefer the A5. I kind of feel like both have the same amount of lines (it might be a little more in the 7x9, but not a noticeable difference). If you really have a lot going on the you might prefer the 7x9, but I really love the A5 and find the amount of space to be just right. The 7x9 actually felt too bulky to me for a daily (I like it for weekly though). Also it will depend on if you carry it around with you. The 7x9 will be heavier, but I think the A5 would travel much better (mine stay home so I can’t really say for sure, but there’s a bit of a difference in weight). As for the coiled vs the binder, I love both for different reasons. The coiled is easier to just kind of toss around, and it will fold back on itself if you need it to take up less room on a desk or table. But the agenda gives you flexibility to add in other things you might also want to have, like the way I have the menu planning inserts. If you don’t need anything else, then the coiled is perfect. But if you want an all in one planner, then the agenda might be more of what you want. It also gives you flexibility to change it up anytime if what you need to keep in it changes. A downside to a rings binder though is that the rings usually start to gap over time, some faster than others. This can make turning pages annoying. It is possible to replace them, but it’s a chore (I haven’t done it yet, but I’m considering it for one of my rings planners). Generally I tend to lean towards coiled. But I’ve always just loved the binder style for the flexibility and the covers are just so pretty, so that’s what I’m going to be trying with this one when my coiled daily ends in June/july. I currently have 7x9 planners, and the daily is too big for me, I've decided to go with an a5 size daily. I love the idea of being able to move the sections around and such with the binder. I don't think I will be opening and closing it everyday though. I have noticed there are some stickers with the planner, but if I purchase extra, will they come hole punched, or need to be put into a pocket to take along with the agenda?

For the gapping it will depend on how often you open and close it, but it could last a year or more. It’s hard to say since each brand is different, even each binder could be different. If you order more stickers they don’t come punched sadly. I wish they did.
As for the the sticker book, many won’t fit on the A5 monthly (there are some that will though), but they will all fit on the daily pages in some form. I intend to use it in the A5, but probably mostly on the daily pages.

Yeah, I 100% agree. It’s the hardest thing to try to film (and photograph) the reflective products. The interchangeable covers are always hard to show too.
I love the week page. Monday to Sunday. I wish those were also dated. The only thing I wish they had included. I can write the dates on it.
That has been what I’ve heard from people the most, about it being dated. My guess is that they might do it in the future since so many people have mentioned wanting it. They told us the reason they didn’t was because they wanted everyone to be able to use it either before or after the dated daily pages.

Thanks for listening! Hope work goes well for you today! EC is nice (a favorite of mine for sure), but there are a lot of other good planners too! It can get pretty pricey. But if you do want to order from EC, there’s ways to make it less expensive. I utilize sales and coupons a lot. Black Friday is the best sale if you use a calendar year planner. I also only buy 2-3 times a year and combine things I’ve been wanting so I don’t have to pay shipping (I hate paying shipping with a passion). How how do you like the ring bound versus coiled? I love the idea of the ring bound, but I always like to fold over the page when I’m writing which you obviously can’t do with the ring bound. do you take one page out and put it on your desk and use it at a time? I have a keyboard and mouse and everything else on my desk so it could not lay open and flat. Thank you your review was great.
I love both, and will use both kinds at different times or for different purposes. Most of the time I leave the pages in the ring planner, but I will occasionally take them out when I’m writing on them. But if you are limited on space, you might like the coiled better. The benefit to the ring planner though is that it’s so flexible and customizable. You can easily add in other things (like the meal planning pages) and switch them out if you don’t need them anymore. Can you put the monthly calendars all in one section at the front without disrupting the daily pages ?
Yes! Because the dashboard type page is on the back of the monthly calendar, they can easy be separated from the daily (and weekly overview) pages.
I’m an HP girlie for weekly and monthly planning, but I don’t like their dailies. I LOVE this layout and will be getting th agenda version as it’s the closest setup to a disc system. This is STUNNING!
I used HP for a long time and they have a lot of good layouts, but I totally agree with you about their dailies. I don’t like them at all. I think you will love the agenda!

While I'm not a fan of the muted colors, I do think they nailed the "sad beige mom" aesthetic that is so popular now! I agree I wish the to do list went farther down. My biggest gripe is I wish they have dated the weekly overview page. It's a dated planner - those should be dated too. I took a break from DD this year to try horizontal in the ring agenda. It has worked SO WELL but I'm tempted to try this new and improved DD layout.
😂 “sad beige mom” The reason I heard as to why the weekly page wasn’t dated is so that people could use it before the week of dailies or after. It doesn’t bother me personally, but it is something I’ve heard from a lot of people that they wish it was dated too. I could see them changing it next year because of that.

Question - When you use a note pad in the back of an agenda or just in general -do you have an issue with pages separating from the backboard? It may just be me or because the previous agenda cover was so floppy.
Normally I don’t have an issue. I didn’t use one in the floppy agendas, but I have used them in other ring planners like my Filofax that is a bit stiffer. I did rip the pages off from the notepad while I was filming this, but that was because when I tried to turn to the back I got hold of the notepad too so when I turned the pages towards the front I ripped the notepad from the back cardboard. But that really was user error. 😂 That was the first time I’ve done that though. Normally they are just fine in the back pocket. I hope that answers your question. Let me know if it didn’t. 😊
I found your channel when I was trying to find videos on the new ring agenda. I have a daily ring agenda in canvas that will take me all the way to the end of the year, having neutral layout is great when using sticker kits. But ec might not come out with canvas again in a ring planner so on launch day, I'm going to get the evolve daily. I love the new changes, as well as the new folio for the ring agenda. (Stopped buying the old folios cause I just didn't like them). I was going to just get the added lined pages for the new ring planner but after you showed the meal add ons, I think I'm going to get those. Looking forward to more videos from you. Love that they moved the monthly overview so when you put just the month in for future months that is with it. Also the week at a glance and extra notes pages are just what I need. I’m glad they kept the Sat/Sun on back to back. I use this planner for work and usually don’t need Sat/Sun so I can just pop that page out. Great job EC. Only thing I wish they had done was date the week at a glance, but I can do that and request the change for next year!
