What a thrill to see on completion. You really have done yourself proud. If only British roads were not horribly congested and even main roads not so pot-hole-infested ... (For info, the best time ever to use the roads was when they were almost deserted during of covid lockdown in 2020!)

About the 1969 R3 - the styling is till ugly today. The ray guns are okay if swept up and mated with normal sized down pipes. The only styling thing reasonably okay on the 1969 R3 is the tank. Still, love the videos.

Hello Roger. At the beginning of the video I make a small comment. It's a job for a friend. The pretty BSA just needed a little love😉😊. Best wishes, Loscar.

@@LoscarMotorcycles Hello and thank you. Yes, indeed, you did and what a fortunate friend to receive back his precious machine "as new"! By the way, I recall a road test of the 1970 model in Motor Cycle Sport, here in the UK. Despite being the most powerful and fastest British 650-twin, the tester achieved only 103, the vibration so intense. I have a hunch that will not apply to your friend's! Best regards, Roger. PS Several of your other videos have also brought great enjoyment and admiration. I'll try to watch the remaining ones as rapidly as time allows. I h

My mechanic had one these and allowed me to ride it once. He could tune British 3's by ear and maintained my T150.

A fabulous example very worthy of you; and exceedingly rare in the US. I was in my mid-teens when the BSA/ Triumph was launched in 1968 and recall the colour pull-out in the British Motor Cycle magazine/paper. I was much impressed, of course, but thought it excessively heavy, in part due to the heavy exhaust system. Less weight would have given the bike even better handling that would have compensated for the greater sophistication of its poorer-handling Japanese rivals. (It would take them another ten years to catch up.) PS I've subscribed to your channel.

What a gem! It reminds me of the (much inferior!) 1972 Roadster I owned in the 1990s. How I wish UK roads 30 years later were not so excessively and plagued with unrepaired potholes (and careless, uninsured, unlicensed drivers in unroadworthy vehicles!). Many thanks for this video and for the first part.

That thing turned out really nice. Love the white and grey paint job. I got a 78 in a partial trade a few months ago. It needed some love for sure, but I've got it running well and not leaking (knock on wood.) Question... with my 78 Bonneville, I've got the timing set right on (according to the strobe) but it occasionally kicks back on me when I go to kick start her. I retarded the timing a smidge to see if that helped, but it doesn't seem to. It's not every time I start it, but it's like 1 out of 10 or 20 starts will kick me back. Not sure what I can do to fix that. Maybe I'm not getting the pistons in the right place before kicking... my 64 TR6 has never kicked back on me and I'm using the same technique to start both bikes.
