I'm a lefty guitar player and I looked at that listing on reverb for a while. It was fairly good price for a lefty mod shop. If it was a hard tail, I would have tried to buy it, haha. Congrats on that one!
Which model of Zexcoil you're using? It sound amazing!!
Just the video I needed, thank you very much for making this, now time to practice 😊
SRV had bass frets installed on his Strats which might have a bearing on his licks and tones.
When due the forthcoming Little Wing? I'm currently waiting to join Semi-annual when it becomes available... Also heard that Jimi's string gauges arrangements are somewhat different in 3th and 4th string, should we follow that?
Right now I'm hoping to have it out by mid August. I don't know anything about Jimi's string gauges, and I'm not changing my normal gauges for this course.
😩 Here we go!! Another left hand guitar video! Just leave it alone! Coming from a lefty, you need to stop taunting us! Every time we walk into a guitar shops we are faced with very low quality or lack of choice! Turn that sucker upside down and REALLY ENJOY how uncomfortable it is! 👍🇦🇺
I always knew that there was a C there, but the lick from the album seemingly makes it hard to get at before the G to the sliding chords we all know. You play over it thinking you are in Am, because they are the same notes of course. Still a good nugget to throw out there and great embellishment ideas.
I never thought about if he changed the angle of the pickups to be higher on the bass side, etc. Probably just left them as it was at the beginning but maybe not forever. He must have had the nut changed or at least flipped around I would think. My guess is that it won't be crazy different sounding. You are also used to the whammy bar above the bridge because of your SRV strat.
such a cool idea!
Well if that doesn’t work you can cover some Eric Gales lessons. 😂😂
I do everything right handed except play the guitar, and what you are doing looks virtually impossible. It blows my mind to this day how impossible it would have been for me to learn fretting technique with my uncoordinated right hand. Good luck!
As soon as you start doing bands, and vibrato I noticed an Albert King cadence to them.
You are going DEEP down the rabbit hole, my friend! 😂 Chase that tone! 🤙🏼
I'm left handed and I think left handed guitars look weird 😂
Nice Anthony! I’m excited!
Thanks for diving so deep in your lessons. Looking forward for the comparison
Looking forward to seeing this project and the new course 🎉
What a gorgeous Strat. Have you tried the Hendrix signature guitar Fender put out a few years ago? I loved the pickups in it. They sounded very vintage and twangy.
I haven't had the opportunity to try that one.
The major issue playing a Strat upside down is how you strum and the volume/tone knobs. They can get in the way of your palm as you strum. I’ve gotten used to playing Strats this way even though there are plenty of great lefty Strats around.
Couple things here my friend. I'm a left-handed guitar player and I've been playing for about 30 years. I think what you're going to find is, this might help you a little bit but at the end of the day, Hendrix used a lot of overdubbing and studio trickery that gave us a mystique about his tone. I'm a huge Hendricks fan and have studied his playing most of my life. The reality is, it's not hard to get his tone because he played the guitar upside down, it's hard getting his tone because he was a master in the studio.
I think you will find Eddie Kramer was the master in the studio .
@@Dad-Gad well, I'm sure you're right but the same point still stands. It is super hard with one guitar to sit down and sound like a Jimi Hendrix record. There's just too much going on that you can't recreate by yourself.
@@Dad-Gad I'll tell you what else I think Jimmy did that was revolutionary. Being such a big Hendricks fan, growing up I would come up with riffs and then play them backwards. You'll hear things that sound pretty good that you never would have thought of on your own. I think he did that a lot. I'm also a huge Eddie Van Halen fan and I knew there was something going on with his solos when I sat down and studied his work. He was all over the fretboard in a way that really made no sense. David Lee Roth later came out and said that he would create different solos and then mix them in and see what worked. I 100% believe he did that. Some people challenge that but it's kind of silly because if you listen to the right now solo, it really is and acrobatic move to play that solo.
Suuuuper cool idea
You are great. Your producer is a jerk.
I hate that guy.
Aww you got me a beautiful new Stratocaster!!!😂😂
No man, he got it for me 😂
Yessssir

Why only first subscriber discount ? Why not on olders.. punishment ?
Great acts usually have really good openers in my experience
I can tell you love that first chord on Lenny
Before joining the lessons, SRV Little Wing lesson included in the Semi-Annual course?... The course deserves LOCALTHE4TH benefit for the first comer?
The Locals program is an all-access membership that gives you access to my entire library of courses (80+). My Little Wing course will be added to the membership as soon as it is done. You can look through all my courses here: texasbluesalley.com/woodshed/courses
Have you seen tyrone vaughan?
I've seen clips, but not live.
What a great way to show YOUR support for him… sharing your experience in a teaching way… I’m def checking him out - thanks! .
Have followed his career for over 7 years. He and his band were invited to be on Legendary Blues Cruise #39, and he was invited up to play with Kingfish, DK Harrell, Bernard Allison and pretty much every other headliner on the cruise. He was blowing them away at all hours of the day and night. Matthias is the real deal.
I get that merch is where bands make money now, but t-shirts are stupid expensive at shows now. I will spend money on other merch though. Stuff that'll last. I paid way to much for a Queens of the Stone Age tour poster, for example. BUT it was exclusive to that show 😂
The tricky thing about pricing merchandise (or anything really) is that there are people in the crowd who are absolutely loaded, and the reality is they'd probably pay twice whatever you're asking. But there are less of them than there are fans who genuinely can't afford a $40 or $50 shirt. This ratio will change from town to town obviously, but how can you simultaneously allow the fans with deep pockets to give you as much money as possible while still offering something that most fans can buy? That's the challenge, and that's why you sometimes see things like VIP packages etc.. offered for super high prices. The people who can afford to pay those prices are going to spend that money somewhere, and if a band doesn't have something for them to spend it on, it's gonna go to someone else.
@@Texasbluesalley it's great when a band can offer a whole range of stuff of varying prices, but i get how that's not realistic for smaller acts. I know personally, i shop at the merch table first by budget, and then by 'is it something i can only get at the show'. I've definitley walked out with nothing but memories when i can't tick those two boxes.
He's not really an unknown, only to you. As Chocolate Jesii said below, he won the IBC Challenge in Memphis in January of 2023. Always good so show up early, never know what you might miss. Go over and watch his band performing at the IBC Challenge, it's an eye opener.....
Oh it's totally on me, it takes me way to long to discover artists that have been around for years already.
Great player. Saw him at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis a couple years ago. His band made the finals and he won the award for best guitarist. I believe he and Kingfish are both alumni of the Pinetop Perkins master classes held in Clarksdale MS. I know Kingfish is, and 90% that Matthias is as well. So they for sure know one another very well as Kingfish still shows up to participate in the jam sessions with the new kids down there from time to time.
I had a section of this video about who he is and what he's done so far, but I cut it out because I was rambling too much.
Great camera angle on fretboard ❤
❤
slowตอนไหนวะชิบหาย😅
*_Thank you, Anthony! Best lesson on KZread!_* 🎸
Thank you!
What pedal is used for leslie effect? Thanks
I'm playing through a Kemper Profiler, and the leslie effect is built in.
Saw Robert at IThink in WPB on 07/10/24 opening for the Doobie Brothers. The mix was perfect and I could hear all musicians perfectly. I play keys in 2 cover bands so hearing the Hammond and piano was great. The mix was spot on.
Dude this is awesome
