Plus, there is recent research stating these treatments have been linked to cancer 😳. What happened to black women? We NEVER use to alter our bodies like this. I definitely agree that the overconsumption on “self-care” is a coping mechanism for for some deep internal issues. I’m too cheap for selfcare😅 Other than a bikini wax every two months and a facial a couple times a year, my skin care is Cerave face wash and lotion if I remember. I’m also a firm believer of nutrition from food for skincare.

I feel like you make little black girls feel like they have to undergo all of this to be considered “beautiful”. Getting Botox every other week is not normal and at the very least stupid because the lifelong effects of Botox are not well known yet as Botox has just came out 25 years ago! Don’t take this the wrong way but you don’t put any emphasis on the importance of mental health or when “self care” gets taken too far. Phrases such as “I’m doing all of this to not be called ugly” or “this is THE cost of beauty” have anything and everything but black girls best interest in them. But hey, what do I know, right?

That’s unfortunate they were like that but the landscape is changing. I know a high-end fashion brand that he told me he was paying upwards of $70k/mo for models, photographers and influencers to $0 now. They have incorporated AI for all of this and fired everyone putting that $70k back into the product. He told me that can get 1000s of good images instantly and is never looking back. More brands are following suit as well so you’ll see more not willing to pay like they used to. Things are changing and time to pivot and create a plan B. Good luck.

Is this video sped up because man she talks fast! I thought I talked fast but she has me beat. I have to watch everything twice because it’s too fast even for me! That’s also an insane amount of money every month on beauty. It’s a mortgage payment here in Cali but enjoy it while you can because things can change in a blink of an eye in this economy and tech evolution then you’d wish you would have saved more of it. I knew someone who blew money like that then one day in an instant their life changed and they couldn’t take going from glam to bust. It was hard watching it. A high end fashion brand I know was paying thousands a month for models, photographers and influencers to $0 now. AI is faster and cheaper! More will follow. Life is cyclical and what goes up will come down before it goes back up so Always prepare for when things go down to prevent the rich today broke tomorrow dilemma.
