    There is so much to say here truly. I've watched B2B twice now (and no I didn't give any money to it...). It's an atrocious pin-hole look into her life, music and talent. It's essentially a romance film based on Amy and Blake, and an embarrassing attempt at that. Not only did I think that film-wise, it was poorly written and the script seemed very forced, but it was also a confusing mess as you have no real idea how many years it's been since the last scene etc etc. Trying to cover both her Frank and Back to Black eras in 2 hours just isn't gonna work (and didn't). Despite all films (especially biopics) having to have a sense of dramatization for the audience, this is done poorly - making Amy out to be this shy Camden girl who was entirely infatuated and obsessed with Blake (which ofc may be somewhat true, but Blake was not her entire life!!). They completely miss her unique attitude, wit and overall amazing sense of humour, not to mention almost any song writing, and leave her oddly half-baked. And even go as far to show inaccuracies like Amy trying crack on her own! Which is entirely untrue as Blake introduced her to hard drugs. Overall an absolute mess, I can only say a huge well done to Marisa for giving it a good go, her acting was the best part (but those are big shoes to fill). Realistically, this film should've never left the writing room, never mind see the light of day.

    the irony is so many people in history could be compared to homelander's character, but for some reason, trump, a surface level comparison, is what took hold for these outlooks. interesting to say the least. game of thrones is a great case study in how politics can be handled and not handled. early GoT is literally just politics, but leaves the viewer to makes the comparisons to our world. later seasons detract from that goal with either bad writing (men only make cock jokes/all the intelligent characters becoming one notes or dumb like arya, jon s, and varys) or forceful feeling character interactions (sansa+every character past season 4 or brianne + sansa meeting). i usually stop watching a show/reading a series when it feels as if the creators are targeting a specific demographic with analysis while avoiding similar parties demographics within the same spectrum. for example, if a series targets religion as a theme, but chooses to single out only a specific one while avoiding all the others then that is a red flag to me. same with gender, race, and everything in between. we all share the ability to spread hate and love. forgetting that destroys art and society from the inside out. true art doesn't simply validate our beliefs... it questions them.

    KZreadrs were legit reacting to the yoga scene without actually showing it JUST to help promote and sell tickets. Its disingenuous. Whenever a new horror movie comes out now and all you see everywhere is “the Best slasher ever” .. “gnarliest kills ever” etc. I don’t beleive it. This would’ve worked TEN times better as a short film and not a feature length one.

    Yeah I saw it in the theatre during a sneak preview night at Sherman oaks. It didn’t leave me much, the yoga kills scene cool. Very slow that car drive scene with two females sheeesh I thought that scene would never end. Bad pacing. Some cool kill scenes but yeah it was underwhelming compared to what I was hoping to see, I was soo excited thought it was gonna be better.

    Nah, you just went in with the wrong expectations. It’s a vibes movie. It’s about sitting in and soaking in the atmosphere and the mood of it all and living in the emotion of the moment, whether it be chaos, horror or apathy; not nonstop kills and thrills. Maybe that’s the fault of the marketing, idk because I avoid marketing for anything I’m excited about. All I know is I went in blind and thought it was fantastic.

    Season 1 : make fun of PR that work on putting actors because of the race gender religion and graphics about types of focus groups Season 2: makes fun of obligatory gay character Amazon made Rings of Power Now they cant make jokes about themselves because Amazon is the new Disney and go full hate the audiences like all the shows, with Girlboss things like all the shows and Frenchie need 30 min of gay sex in 4 episodes for the plot And you cant tell me the opposite, in fact is hilarious how Homelander group is white 20-60 years with 80% men and the Starlight group is white women or black men subtle very subtle AND NOT EVEN INVENTED i watch the scenes of 4 episodes is hilarious the political view

    The Wild Robot is the fan favorite choice to win best animated feature and I can see that. Inside Out 2 is the movie I personally want to see win but Wild Robot would be a good choice too. But I can see The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim having the highest chance to win best animated feature because it's Lord of the Rings, something the Oscars absolutely love and I can tell they're going to give the win to it just because it's LOTR.

They literally make a jokeout of the actual death of Isaac Kappy, who did mysteriously die for bringing up the Hollywood pedo rings, which, I must mention, have now been verified w things like epstein, weinstein, and p Diddy. I don’t object to mixing some politics into the characters’ motivations, but that’s not why I or anyone else thinks Homelander is interesting. What’s fascinating about him is watching the psychopathic disdain for people in the body of a Superman-like character, and learning what about his upbringing led him to become who he is. Mixing the political into the mental of psychopathy is….curious, but it can very easily become uninteresting or polarizing if not done EXACTLY right

  • @BenTitoFriedman
    @BenTitoFriedman10 күн бұрын

    That may be a fair criticism. As I see it and said so in my review I believe The Homelander we see in season 4 is the natural progression of such a character, and that as the show goes on we learn that there just isn’t much interesting or nuanced about Homelander and he is who he presents himself to be. I find that lack of nuance refreshing and makes the villain performance all the more terrifying and unsettling.

  • @mr.greasy6483
    @mr.greasy648310 күн бұрын

    The Boys was “woke” from episode 1, this is not at all a season 4 change. I think the reason there’s backlash is because the show didn’t reach the pro-Homelander audience until recently. I’m totally down for a show to take down the “Trump mentality” in America, but I don’t think it’s being done right. It doesn’t feel completely accurate because Vought is a stand in for too many things. It’s meant to be Hollywood (liberal), Amazon (liberal), pharmaceutical companies like Johnson & Johnson (liberal), Fox News (conservative), Alex Jones conspiracies (conservative), it can’t be all of those things at once, because it doesn’t reflect reality. They’ve grouped all the “bad guys” into one ideology, which just isn’t realistic.

  • @BenTitoFriedman
    @BenTitoFriedman10 күн бұрын

    I think that is a fair. However, where I’ll say we disagree is some of the cooperations that this show parodies I believe the point is to be showing how willing corporations or ideas can pretend to be a shelter for “liberal safe haven” or “progressive ideals” but it’s all BS. When I was talking nuance that the show still has that is what I am referring to.

    I don’t think that’s true. Per the rules, “An animated feature is defined by the academy as a film with a running time of more than 40 minutes in which characters' performances are created using a frame-by-frame technique, a significant number of the major characters are animated, and animation figures in no less than 75 percent of the running time.” In the case of IF it utilizes animated characters, but I don’t think it would be classified for animated feature. This case came up a few years ago with the remake of the lion king and will inevitably happen again this year with the release of Mufasa. Either way thanks for watching and hope you enjoyed my Oscar video and that you consider subscribing for more academy awards discussions in the near future!

    The anger towards many nepo babies derives from many of them lsaying they're "self made" completely ignoring all of the advantages they got because of their parent (s). In the case of Ishana she's doing the exact same thing as her father, as if his (questionable) talent was inherited from birth. If you compare to someone like Rashida Jones, yes, she got a lot of advantages in life because of her parents but she didn't try to be a replica of her father, instead she went into acting, writing, and directing, which I think as a society we respect more because these feel like her own genuine interests and talents.

    “By nature of being born into this life and having a parent in the industry, there's definitely a sort of advantage stepping into the field, you just have that sense of being able to achieve it - I think as with any child pursuing their parent’s field,” the director-daughter of a director said. Ishana says the conversation about ‘privilege’ is ‘totally valid’ and that it’s the ‘reaction to the privilege that matters’ and what standard people hold themselves to.” Direct quote from the filmmaker. She acknowledged her privilege. So many people replicate their parents as they are many people’s first role models. Most of my family are teachers. And my sister went into teaching and works at the same district my mom does. Is she a nepo baby, yeah. Do I care, no. I can’t find a single reason for me to be that annoyed by her wanting to make a horror film. We all learn from our influences and we clearly can tell what M Night is interested in.
