Thanks for filming and posting this Mike. Congrats. I love seeing the guys I've competed against the past 35 years still going at it....albeit a wee bit slower!

This guy is who every 25+ year old, Target shopping, Georgia boot "Romeo" (slipper) wearing "hick" wannabe believes sees themselves as, their voices pitched with twangy affect (fake), always trying to be quick with a Hallmark-card witticism they've robbed from dumb TV shows and/or their favorite alt-right bumper stickers. Most, of course, are/were actually born and raised 5 miles outside the subs and work at Round Table Pizza or the gas station.

Growing up in the 60's we would brag to our friends from other towns that the world champion wood chopper was from our town. Dave Geer was a super nice guy. His entire family are great people. RIP Big Dave. Our town was big enough or other timber sports champions in the name of Sven Johnson and his son Ron. Again great people.

The people out in the Ohio valley can be very compassionate, honest, and generous when you get to know them. They don't really care much about you or where you're from, because they got about a 1000 stories of their own. Pastimes include Praying, Football, and a strong belief in the saying "If you can kill it you can cook it".

Hi, I am Chauncey Varney. It's hard to believe 25 years have gone by since this video was taken in 1995. I still cringe when the engine bogs on the first cut. ... guessing it cost me a second off my time. It resulted from using an experimental fuel pumping arrangement. Even after having competed for many years, I succumbed to the temptation to run experiments at a contest. I was trying to save 1/4 lb by eliminating the carburetor fuel pump. There are a few recently added youtube videos posted now. After years of procrastination, I dusted off some old VHS tapes and extracted few clips from them.
