After having 100+ hours on both Sims 3 and Sims 4 in these last 12 months (i used to play lots in the past too) i can safely say the entire animation team and like half the studio responsible for Sims 4 should be ✨️ fired ✨️

my issue with the sims 4 is not even the lack of details, it's how lifeless sims are. I miss the life, expressiveness, and also the fun and personality from the older games. sims used to feel alive. the sims 4 is boring and also has a 'toxic' happiness thing going on. why do they always act so goofy and never stop smilling like barbie dolls? life is imperfect, and the sims 2 gets it, it also manages to be funny while maintaining a bit of a more mature vibe. don't take me wrong, I don't judge people who like ts4 anyway, it's not that bad of a game, the thing is that it doesn't feel like the sims at all.

While I adore the sims 3 and 2, I really love the multi tasking element of the sims 4. Being able to chat to someone while they’re cooking feels so much more real, I think it’s one of the few things they got right.

I like how there's different hidden traits in the sims 3 and it's very nostalgic for me. It's also very fun to play without the loading screens like the sims 4. The relationships between younger sims also had some life to it to be able to go to different lots and run around them without being limited to a square box of a lot. There's some other animations to that are great in the sims 3. It feels a bit more alive to me and I myself don't really remember what the inside of stores look like or care about those animations. It gives a great setting for family activities. 😅

A lot of the reason that the sims 2 is considered the best game is because Will Wright worked on the sims 2 (and 1) but later quie working with ea after both their releases, he made the idea and pitched it to EA, who turned it into a souless dollhouse

Never played Sims 2 but every time I see a video of the gameplay it's looks sooo good. The attention to detail is insane! The sims actually act alive. Can't believe the franchise went this downhill so quickly with Sims 4.

Earlier sims games created their own drama, sims actually felt like individuals with their own personality, and while you had control over your sims there was still room for random occurrences. A real life sim. The problem with the sims 4 is that it is literally a dollhouse game, not so much a life simulation. Every aspect of the sims is controlled from aspirations to wants. Your wants are not so much affected by your traits, life experiences, and the experiences and traits of those around you. Not only that but you have to create your own drama, just playing the game casually nothing ever happens unless you make it happen. Little things like my sims wanting a girl or boy baby. Wanting to get massages, going out to eat, wanting to have more kids, get married, etc. when a couple gets pregnant the parents develop new wants based on the circumstances that actually feel fun and adaptive. Things that would happen in real life. In real life a lot of people hope for a specific baby gender. In real life a lot of soon to be parents engage in certain activities to prepare for the baby. Earlier sims games even had wants of buying specific furniture and toys to prepare for an upcoming child. Sims feared their children not growing up well, not making good grades, they want to teach their children how to walk, and want them to stay out of trouble. The sims 4 is just lacking so much that earlier sims games encompass so wonderfully.

Idk why but being able to be the animals (even tho you couldnt necessarily do anything as them) and the making of beds is what i remember most from sims 2 (besides the burglar that would peep in your window in cas)

Sims 2 will always be the winner, no doubt! Sims 3 has its own charm too, but Sims 2 is so memorable and paid so much attention to the smallest details, it's unmatched. Sims 4 is just an empty husk, so lifeless and unfinished...

Sims 1 will hold a special place always. Out of the whole franchise Sims 2 was better imo. I played a lot of Sims 3 as well and it was in its way also good. I will not spend a dime on Sims 4 - sorry.
