I start to challenge myself to play songs first in key of C, then key of G etc. and to memorize progression while thinking about circle of fifth. And then, to play it with my eyes closed. The last one help me to sing in pitch too.

Thanks a lot for this video. This is a real barrier for me at the moment and there's frustration in not playing something that sounds as it should. (The subtitles are a nice touch but I'm OK coz I've seen a lot of Kevin Bridges.)

Since learning about chord progressions from your previous videos, I’ve been paying attention to this aspect in a song I’m learning from scratch. I’ve found this helpful in remembering the chords and the order to play them in. Also helps to remember the lyrics of the song as chord changes hit on particular words. I’ve probably made it harder for myself by trying to learn the uke playing part and singing and remembering of the words at the same time. Part 1 has made me realise that I should just play the song to ingrain the playing of the chords and the tempo/rhythm of the song. I will focus on this area. Looking forward to part 2 as I do have challenges in figuring out the no. of beats to each bar and the no. of bars for each chord. Great initiative in teaching us how to learn songs not only in a quick and effective manner but also providing the understanding of the process. 🙏

I've been learning guitar, on and off with friends, since I was 16. I'm 46 and I'm not very good at it. I can read a tab, I now my chords (majors, minors and 7ths), and I now my way arround the frets. But I have no rithm and I always end up plucking the strings which makes all songs sound sad . Also have the memory of a fish when it come to memorising the cords. I go around the bowl and I forgotten everything. So I got myself a really cheap ukulele. And I found your videos. I'm really taking into account your advices and technical instructions and I'm not great but I'm not horrible as well. Circle of fiths is really useful. I'm getting better. So thank you so much . I will also teach my friend daughter this technics. She is 12. There is hope for her.

I can't thank you enough for this wonderful lesson on the 12 Bar Blues in C. The lesson was easy to follow along with and surprised me how simple it is to play this awesome sounding blues medley. I love your laid back teaching style which removed any anxiety or stress I had for the lesson and which was actually very motivating for me. This was by far the best and most enjoyable tutorial for beginner Blues I have found on YT or anywhere. You are my new favorite Ukulele teacher on YT and I am glad I just found your channel here. I am a happy new subscriber to your channel, sending you all the best from the US.
