So! What are some CRNA MUST HAVES? Obviously stethoscope but anything else? Fanny pack? Caps? Pen light? My wife is starting work soon and I was just curious!

I would love to be CRNA but the thought of doing spinals or central lines scare me.... how often do you do those? Or are there certain hospitals or specialties where they only use a specific form of anesthesia?

The emergency c section story made me really emotional because I went through the very same thing & I really appreciated the whole medical team for saving my baby & I!!! My birth story is my driving force in my nursing journey. Thank you 🙏🏾

I have a question. How can you pass a patient so quick? Do you have to study the patients and have a plan the night before?

New subscriber and NEW to the idea of this career. Is it more difficult starting this career without being a nurse already. I have no medical experience I’ve invested my years to motherhood and customer service work at restaurants and stores. Any advice, books or recommendations on jumping into this career path. I appreciate your videos they’re detailed with a lot of my questions and they were answered here.

Hi, thanks for sharing your CRNA journey. Could you recommend some books for me to read? I'm planning to advance my studies, and I want to ensure I have time to spend with my family without worrying about being unprepared for the topics I need to study. Thank you in advance

I vaguely remember playing on a blanket outside as a very young kid when my Mom was working in the vegetable garden. I don’t remember being told not to leave the blanket so I don’t know if I was ‘trained’ or not. I just liked being outside and it was nice to be on the blanket instead of the prickly grass. I was an only child to older parents so I was always more mature acting ,I learned to talk early and spoke clearly not baby talk.

I am terrified of anaesthesia in the UK !!! After being Mis Diagnosed 3 Times, I don't Trust the Doctors to do what they are Supposed to do !!! For a Small Operation they Refused Me a Local Anaesthetic !!! I'm 70 yrs old, and I refused the Operation !!! It wasn't Cancer and that's all I was Worried About !!! I expect they still use Ether here in the UK !!! The Consultant told me the operation does not hurt at all.(Spermatocele) and I would have to take Paracetemol. I Don't believe it Doesn't Hurt !!! I have a lot of Medical Problems so I will not take the Risk !!! The Spermatocele Doesn't Bother Me and it Doesn't Hurt so even if only one in a Million die, I am not Taking the Risk !!! I would have been happy to be awake and have a Pain Killing Injection, but here in the UK if you Have a Teaspoon of Calpol once a Year, then you're a Drug Addict !!!

I am a current highschool student researching different career paths to go down after graduation. This career has really caught my attention and seems like a potential good fit for me. To be a CRNA I know you said the hours differ but do you know if it’s possible to be a crna but not have to be on call ? I wouldn’t want crazy hours just a simple 8 hour shift lol

I’m so incredibly new to this. I’m a 15 year certified medical coder and just recently accepted into the surgical tech program so I’m excited to get that under my belt and get into the OR but my overall goal is to become a CRNA. My daughter is just shy of 3 years going into her healthcare career so we will be going to school at the same time. She wants to become a NP. Here’s to becoming a CRNA within the next 10 years 🎉 😅

I have had about 20 surgeries, the first 18 I never had an anesthesiologist say more than 5 words to me prior to anesthesia induction. My last two surgeries, TKA/YKR. I had a great Anesthesiologist. He is now my anesthesiologist for all future surgeries; if he's not there, neither will I be there. You can have whichever Anesthesiologist you want. You do not have to accept whichever one is "Next"in the QUE. If you don't have the chance to get to know them how are, they going to get to know YOU? Whether you know it or not, having a great anesthesiologist is extremely important, as much so as your selection of surgeon and in some cases more so. Discuss this issue long before your scheduled surgery, not the day of when you are in Pre-Op being sedated prior to induction. In most cases you are given Medazolam/Versed, a benzodiazepine that will fog your mind and make you forget everything that is happening. During this Tim you will be asked to sign the consent forms. You won't even know what you are signing. You also have a right to have an MD for your anesthesia; you Do Not have to accept a CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) who has much less trying than a Medical Doctor (MD) anesthesiologist. Don't be afraid to speak up for yourself prior to the day of surgery. Do what is Right For Yourself, after all, it is Your Body! Chris Laveen AZ (Phoenix) 27 March 2024 1758 MST/5:58 PM MST

Trying to be a good student and let the school know I’m due thanksgiving week so fingers crossed I get to take finals early.

When I first saw blanket training, I did get nervous, especially after having watched the documentary on prime. but I see that you do it differently than was explained in the documentary and later move on to bigger spaces as far as outside or a big playroom where they can run around and have fun and they just learn to stay there. I’m glad I watched.

anesthesia is the safest it's been in history. just don't ask how it works because nobody knows. be honest with the preop assessment, except they won't document some of it and you'll need to repeat it to your anesthesiologist team day-of. many don't react to versed at all, and most experience burning into their veins from propyfol. known issues and versed is still used the most, and the admin rate for propyfol isn't slowed to reduce discomfort. nope, no reason to be afraid. enjoy the medical gaslighting and physicians too busy to take you or your concern seriously. great video and you cover topics well. i've got rational fears and i empathize with everyone going under soon. good luck!

Lovely home! Would you ever be willing to share a budget breakdown and how you go about building an entire house from scratch with all the moving parts and people involved (architects, contractors, etc)? I’d find that so interesting. We remodeled a bathroom last year using a design and GC firm and even that one small room required so much attention and ‘work’ from us. 😂 I can’t even imagine building a house. It would be like a full-time job!
