Its interesting most blades are stainless steel which is supposed to not rust. 🤔 personally i use carbon steel so yes i definitely have to keep dry and oil. Carbon steel is not so easy to find you have to shop a round most will be stainless steel.
Any metal that is not kept dry will rust eventually! Even stainless steel. So you still have to take care to keep it dry. Hmm I have never heard of carbon steel razors before. Very interesting. Thanks for your comment! ☺️
when you do buy yes get a safety razor works better than any 3 or 5 blade. Get a razor stand they dry well hanging

The Santa plate is a spoon Rest
That’s actually what I ended up using it for! Lol 🥰💕
I have exactly the same snowman plate, I use it as a spoon rest during Xmas season, bought it last year at St. Vincent de Paul, for 50 cents, still had the Dollarama sticker on it. So cute ❤, honestly thrift stores are the way to go for vintage xmas decor and after Xmas I look for vintage Xmas balls ❤ I decorated after Nov. 11 Remembrance Day, my trees has 1940s to 1970s xmas balls from my gr grandma up to my mom handed down, in lieu of tinsel i have on tree ends red beads cut to different lengths. I also have a 1970s ceramic lite up tree from my mil and underneath a 1950s Putz house village with figurines, they are little paper cardboard houses. ❤ Happy Holidays ❤
That sounds beautiful!!! You know what?! That’s exactly what I did with my Santa plate!! Lol great minds think alike! I was looking at it trying to find a way to incorporate it into my home Christmas decorating and I just thought that would be a great way to spruce up the kitchen 💕💕🎄 yes definitely I love finding cute things in thrift stores for Christmas and any holiday actually! I have all my moms old vintage glass ornaments too! And cute little wooden ones as well. I can just imagine all your beautiful decorations in my head looks amazing! 🥰 Happy Holidays xoxo

I remember when your daughter was younger could use burlap on fabric for her dolls.

Flour burlap sack bags were used to make dresses and clothes during the great depression, the companies also used to add pattern on them like flowers. Great ideas on how to reuse these rice ones. ❤😊
Oh my gosh, the pumpkin that your daughter made in the Pottery class was so cute. Maybe I should go to one of those classes for myself just something that would be something only I made, and no one else would have the same thing you came up with some great ideas and thanks for sharing them with us.

Thanks so much my dear friend for another great video with some great inspirational ideas for Halloween. Planning for next year already makes it so much easier for us we can pack it away, titled the box Halloween decor and pull it out, maybe even leave ourselves and know what we were gonna do with it just in case we forget thanks so much for all the great tips and information
Yes exactly my point! My daughter is laughing at me because I’m still finding and making stuff for Halloween and she’s like Halloween is over it’s Christmas now 😂😂😂 I said I know that’s why I am making both Christmas and Halloween decorations! Lol

I guess my problem is I want to be ready to start this challenge at the beginning of a month and really get myself set up or I’m hopefully not gonna have a lot of waste. I’m sure there’s gonna be things I’m going to throw out. I am not very good at things, but this is something for me to think about right now. Let me know if you do another month of this challenge. This is something I think I would really like to start trying to do.
Oh definitely going to be doing more! I think this one is a great one to do. Very eye opening. Most of the time we really don’t think of when we chuck something into the garbage it’s just habit and this really makes you think twice. I’m really excited about it!
I may start trying to join in on a few of your challenges. I need to learn to live on a lot less money, but still keep a certain quality of life. This one would’ve been a good one to join in with. I’ll have to watch how it works out and maybe if you do it again another month I may try to join in with you.
I definitely hear you on keeping a quality of life I have done things differently now than on the past, but food waste has always been very much ingrained into me not to waste any food since as early in childhood as I can remember. So I thought this would be a great challenge not only for me but others because I hear a lot from people that they’re wasting too much food and want to stop so this is perfect!

That's an awesome idea. I definitely need to do that because we're really bad about food waste in our house. If I see how much stuff I'm throwing out a month, I'm hoping it'll be a reality check on how much money we're actually throwing out the window. That's a big eye opener! Plus, maybe it'll teach me not to purchase so many fresh food items in the same week, if I'm unable to use them all up before they go bad. I'm bad about doing that because I'm always trying to eat healthier and lose weight, so I buy all the things, if you know what I mean. I have good intentions, but a lot of it goes to waste.

I definitely use my freezer A LOT! and to be honest I’m not even sure why I didn’t throw those potatoes and beets in the freezer. Always love to see what you buy for groceries. Your prices on some things, like eggs, are higher than where I live in Missouri. I'd love to see the dinners you plan on preparing. It gives me ideas. 😆. I get tired of trying to come up with recipes when I have picky eaters iny house. My husband will eat anything I put in front of him by my 21 year old son and 18 year old daughter are kinda picky. My son will be moving in the spring because we're planning on selling our home and moving farther out in the woods. My husband hates where we are right now.we are in the suburbs. Our daughter will probably move with us. She has a boyfriend in the Army so not sure if they'll end up married or not? I hope they do because he's a keeper. 😆. Well, I'm off to see the doctor today. Yeah I’m surprised that our eggs are so high out here in farmland where we have chicken farms everywhere and the prices are still $4 a dozen! They used to be $3ish but went up to $4 it’s nuts. And butter is so expensive too so I try to substitute it whenever I can especially in baking etc. yes I will definitely be doing some yummy cooking coming up! Saying prayers for you. Health is so precious these days ❤ 🙏🏻 my husband eats almost everything and my daughter eats everything she’s learned lol but the 2 little ones are pretty picky my son more so they my other daughter but I’m not giving in they eat whatever I make. No special meals. If everyone had it their way I would make 5 different meals at dinner time lol that’s too much! 😂 I think this time I did really good and focused more on essential foods rather than the junkier food and non essential. Trying to be more healthy.
Awesome frugal ideas, smart of you ❤ All my Halloween decor i have had for years or decades,, didnt buy anything this year, nor did i get any pumpkins. I have plug in light up pumpkin i bought 20 years ago. Total expenses for this Halloween was $7.47, i bought a box of 50 mini chocolate bars at Walmart. Xmas decor will go up after Remembrance Day, I actually downsized my Christmas items. I use Glass balls that are from the 1940s to 1970s, my gr grandmas, my grandmas and moms that were given to me. The Creche or Nativity set is from the 1970s as well, my dad made the wood creche . My mil gave me her ceramic tree as well. So zero expenses on decor this year. My cards i go to St. Vincent de Paul thrift and pick up for 25 cents, this goes for b days, anniversaries as well ❤ Where we do spend money is on our boys, at their ages we give cash if they dont know what they want.

I love those vintage glass ornaments that’s what I have too from the 70’s and 80s from when my parents were married so they bring me lots of memories every Christmas 💕 I’m the same with after Remembrance Day up goes Christmas decorations. I definitely refuse to buy pumpkins lol they’re so easy to grow so someone’s always trying to get rid of all of theirs you can only do so much with so many pumpkins! Money is always a lovely gift to get! I’m sure your boys appreciate it! My dad still gives me money sometimes at Christmas and it’s always a nice surprise. Thank you so much for sharing 💕🥰
@AllThingsFrugalAndFabulous confession last night hubby and I went to Crappy Tire , I mean Canadian Tire and bought a wicker basin in lieu of a tree skirt for under our soon to be put up Xmas tree, our killer chihuahua Sparkles kept going under our tree last year, I think he found the tree skirt comfy to lay on, hoping this will eliminate the problem. I follow Gypsy Girl on KZread, her channel has cleaning tips and season decor ideas......she had bought a wood crate that goes around the bottom of her tree, well the prices on Amazon and in stores were too high for me, so I settled on the wicker basin instead for 59.99. It's practical in the fact it will discourage the dog my furbabies are 12 and 10 now, I have a yorkie poo aged Booboo as well

Thank you! 💕 it was engraved in me as a small child never to waste food. My grandparents grew up in the depression and through world war 2 in Europe they had literally nothing and starved a lot of the time. My oma didn’t waste a single morsel and I stayed with her a lot. And my mom was very much the same way so I grew up with it and it stayed with me throughout my adulthood.

Wow, you did an awesome job at using up all of your leftovers! I love how you don't waste anything. That's definitely something that I need to start doing, especially with these grocery prices. I never thought of saving all of the unpopped popcorn kernels. That is brilliant and I will have to start doing that as well. Snow? Omgosh it was 77 degrees Farenheit yesterday here in Ontario where I live, today was cooler but my son went golfing today 😂

My sister lives in Toronto and she sent me video of the beautiful weather lol I sent her a picture of it here and she’s like my goodness lol it was so crazy though Monday and Tuesday were so nice out green grass and mowing the lawn lol fast forward just a couple days and it’s winter!! Lol that’s Manitoba weather for you. It’s like Forrest Gump says you never know what you’re gonna get 😂

😂😂Yeah it takes a while to get used to it but it’s not so bad after lol there’s lots of fun to be had in the snow! Just need the proper outerwear to keep from freezing to death lol
Say you are Canadian without saying your Canadian Timmies Coffee and PC products and of course Ketchup chips lol 😂 I live in Ontario and do my main weekly shop at Walmart grocery pick up on a Sunday, midweek i pop into Freshco a discount chain of Sobeys. I also shop at Dollarama and on Amazon if prices are cheaper. Especially items found at Shoppers Drug Mart boy is that place expensive now. Places i avoid Metro, used to work there many years, Zehrs and Sobeys.
Lol that’s too funny yes I didn’t even think of that 😂😂 we only have a few grocery stores where I live. I agree shoppers has gotten way expensive! I used. To love shopping there now it’s very rare but on Saturday and Sunday they always have their butter and eggs on sale cheaper than anywhere else in town! Thank you for sharing! 😊
How do you make your own pancake syrup??
I use the recipe from The Tightwad Gazette. I will find it and add it for you it’s super easy just takes some time and you can’t leave it alone so I can’t do it all the time with the kids but it tastes super yummy! at we think so!
@@AllThingsFrugalAndFabulousmy 18 year old love "maple syrup" well that ain't a happening with the price at 12.99 I go to Dollarama and they have for 2.50 in a glass jar as close to maple syrup as one will get. It is a Canadian Brand I just pour it into the old maple syrup glass Container in the fridge and bingo. Bad mom me 😂
@@terrylynn9984 😂😂 that’s awesome! I know maple syrup is sooo expensive no way I’m paying that! I’ll have to check out Dollarama for it. I think a lot of us parents do the same thing. Like swapping out the no name brand cereal into the name brand box. Lol kids are gullible and believe commercials. So they think the “real “ thing is better but lots of times generic is still good. Not always the same but just as good.

@@terrylynn9984 lol I love it! Yes! I used bread bags as dog poop bags when I had my little Cleo but now I use them for baby poop diapers lol no diaper genie for this girl! Lol and same here for the elastics I don’t understand how people actually pay money for elastics? Just makes no sense they come on so many things.

I only use dryer balls and 1tsp of laundry detergent per load

🥰 thank you ❤ just at home trying to get us organized and on a schedule so that I can fit making videos. Lol now that I’m not so tired as I’ve got both babies on good night routine and they go to bed at the Sam time it helps A LOT! So making videos and editing should be a little easier except for all the interruptions 😂
