A modern reimagining of the cult-classic music show “Night Music” - described by Nashville Scene as “the greatest music show you never watched” - Sanborn Sessions is a gathering of the preeminent musicians of our time to explore the essence of music and being a musician through song and conversation.
Hosted from his home studio in New York, Sanborn invites a new artist to jam with him and his band each episode.
Sanborn Sessions is the brain child of its executive producers-Dave’s nephew, Noah, brother-in-law, Steve, and Dave himself-who understood the unique spirit of Night Music and wanted to revive it for the digital age.
After the conceptualization phase and an initial pilot shoot, the team partnered with the iconic music retailer, Sweetwater to bring season one of Sanborn Sessions to life. Sanborn Sessions was introduced to the world in Fall of 2019.

Goosebumps…I remember listening to Jonatha Brooke and Jennifer Kimball when they were the Story. They were so incredible together and the solo albums that each continued to produce after The Story equally so. It is wonderful to see this after so many years, and yes, thank you Mr. Sanborn for breathing life into this music again in a new way. It was gorgeous to watch you play so subtly behind Ms. Brooke. Rest in peace, guiding light.

i rarely comment on these boards but my very favorite sax player of all time just died two days ago. it hurts me to write this as tears fall from my eyes. david had many great albums but backstreet was my favorite. when i met him about 12 years ago in newport beach, california, i told him that i used to work at licorice pizza back in the early to mid 1980's and i used to play that record all of the time. people would always ask me who that was and after i told them they would usually buy the record. i told david this and he smiled. besides sharing his first name we both had back problems at the time as i gave him some advice that was helping me at the time. i could have spent hours with him but there were other people waiting in line. did you know it was david who played sax on the original saturday night live theme? he confirmed this to me. i can write much more but i am so thankful for david and his music. it has made my life much better!
