    Nice tires. I went with CST big boat street tires on my Jansno x50 and I noticed a range and acceleration improvment right away. You won't get any more top speed as that's determined by voltage and rpm of the motor, but you will get up there faster and have big range increase and noise reduction getting off those knobbies. You'll also you'll notice going a bit faster up say a hill because the bike is not fighting the knobbies, or against the wind, etc. The thing is, they are the same price as the knobby tires so why the f$ck would they put knobbies on a street bike in the first place?

  • @RoamingWithRomain
    @RoamingWithRomain10 сағат бұрын

    My guess is to take wider advantage of markets, every time I see these bikes for sale they mention sand and snow capable which I assume works better with knobbies.

    Have been commuting on mine for about 2 weeks now, and have put roughly 300 miles on it. I'm 6'2" 275lbs, I get 25 miles on throttle only in PAS 3 (and occasionally switching to 4), and have been able to hit the 33mph max speed even at my size. My only complaint is that it's a big clunky beast. A lighter folding bike is probably more practical for pure commuting, but I wanted something with a bit of style and the price is weight/inconvenience. The plan is to get a spare battery, as well as install an auxiliary battery in the front storage bag, as well as switch out the knobby tires for street tires once they wear through.

  • @RoamingWithRomain

    I haven’t heard of the S8 or rodent before but I looked it up. It looks like a in between of a Q20 (single battery single motor) and a Q20 Pro (dual battery dual motor). Keep in mind two motors doesn’t make you go fast it just increases the torque on hills, but having 1 battery run both of them is going to give you much less range.

  • @RoamingWithRomain

    Legally in Ontario you need peddles to use the bike path and the bike itself isn’t road legal. Also legally you have to be peddling and keeping it under 20km/h. Personally as you’ve seen I’m not keeping it under 20 and I never peddle, BUT it is easy to switch the top speed down and start peddling if I see police while I’m cruising ;)

    Got mine about 4 days ago, have already put over 100 miles on it without incident. Managing the battery is definitely important to learn. When I'm commuting I stay on level 4 the whole time. Uses about half my battery to get there but I can charge it at work so that's fine (+-10mile ride). For pure range level 2 is just enough speed to get where you need to while being able to get back home. Level 1 barely uses any battery at all, but 11mph is pretty damn slow if you have places to be.

    Yammie noob you say? I found his channel 2-3 months ago and have binge watched so much of his comment. As professional as it is it still seems fairly down to earth and honest/blunt. I’m such a newbie that I don’t even know when deals are happening. Although I suspect I got an $1800 discount on my bike because the 2024 versions has 30cc more over last years

    Have you tried compressing the rear brake with calliper loose to recenter it?

    I did when I first got it but it didn't seem to do anything fresh out of the box. Would probably be worth trying again now that its more broken in though

    Happy to help! Did you end up going with the Q20 or a different model?

    @@RoamingWithRomain I'm still deciding because many people say sometimes the brakes can squeal or the the screen can stop working. The Q20 is also in my budget of 800 dollars . If you had any other good recommendations plz notify me. Thank You!!!

    The only time my screen didn’t “work” was when I didn’t have the battery switch in the right position. My brakes sometimes squeal but only when it’s wet and I squeeze them way too hard because I goofed up and didn’t start braking earlier. There’s a good comment on this video or maybe one of the other ones where a subscriber mentioned a deal they got, I even pulled it up in one of my videos. So maybe check that out but I’d still continue to suggest the Q20

    Don't make the mistake I did and not change the wheel size. Took me 700km to figure out it was set to 23in when its actually 20in wheel/tire set which makes the top speed show a bit faster than its actually going. If it's like mine you hold the two up/down buttons together until you get to P settings then hit the middle button to cycle through/set them. Look for one that says 23 and bump it down to be more accurate.
