When cuntservaturds take quantitatively trillion-times more massive problems like Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) seriously, caused by breeders overpopulating, caused by addiction to fossil fuels, addiction to extremist car centrism that denies freedom to use public space for cyclists and public trains, to meat-eaters raping torturing murdering billions of innocent animals each year when they can easily go vegan instead, which would ALSO greatly reduce FF consumption, than imaginary BS like "pizzagate" or MONUMENTALLY ALARMIST exaggerations of the number of instances of sex slave rings, only then should anyone give a fuck what cuntservatives want.

There is NOTHING special about cuntservatives using this law to their advantage. Everyone else, from Liberals and Leftists to Communists to Marxists to Anarchists & Separatists, Atheists, Animal Rights Vegans, can use Brandolini's Law to spread lies and bullshit about THEIR opponents THEIR enemies, too.

There should be efforts to combat waste, but programs should not be cut because waste exists. If there is waste due to fraud, then there should be efforts to prosecute the fraud. A Pentagon-sanctioned study in 2016 found $125 billion in waste over a 5-year period or $25 billion a year, but that is out of budgets approaching $900 billion a year, but we don't advocate cutting the Department of Defense. Some studies indicate the average worker engages in non-productive activity around 3 hours out of every 8, which mean companies are wasting close to 40% of salaries and wages paid. All the waste is significant and needs to be curtailed, but the percentages of the whole also need to be considered. Meanwhile, a more expansive cost-benefit analysis should really be done to determine whether a specific program or approach is cut.

Hm, I think both Hybrid Cars and Fuel Prices are heavily impacted by a third force, development of technology. Since oil is limited, fuel prices will increase over time. We're able to get more oil, driving up prices at a quicker rate in the long run, because of the development of new technology. Similarly, hybrid car sales increase as hybrid cars become more affordable/available, which is likewise caused by the development of new technology that allows manufacturers to produce them more cheaply/efficiently. So, my hypothesis is that both gas prices and hybrid car sales are caused by this third force, advances in technology, and that the "either-or" choice is a trick

Science today is deeply flawed in so many ways. It is no longer about the search for truth as it used to be. The problem started as scientists began to professionalize and money and scientific politics entered the game. Today scientists are motivated by career advancement and play the game to that end. Their papers are not clear and use jargon and mathematics to impress. It has gotten to the point that even specialists, much less laymen, have difficulty reading and understanding scientific papers. Researcher often regurgitate papers and republish them in an altered form so that they can increase their number of publications. It is all about quantity and not quality as it used to be. Fundamental science is not possible today. The foundations of science can not be challenged, because the gatekeepers will not allow it. Science has become a religion, with its gods, and priests, and writings only they can read and interpret. The gatekeepers fear change and control the game to remain in power. I am a PhD physicist and I am deeply troubled at what science has become. For the past 30 years I have been researching the foundations of physics. During this time I have amassed both theoretical and experimental evidence proving Special and General Relativity is wrong. It is the foundation of physics and the gate keepers will not allow it to be published or discussed. So I am quite familiar with this problem. Einstein was clearly aware of the argument I present, but never discussed it. What is really disturbing is that so many experiments claim to have confirmed these theories, which points to a very serious problem in science. For more information on my research, I have made a short KZread video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pZmExqxwpra3prQ.html

"Today scientists are motivated by career advancement and play the game to that end." Just want to add to this, since it comes across like scientists are scammers trying to rig the system. There are plenty of scientists that are genuinely passionate about their field, and don't want to do this. They'd much rather spend their time pursuing foundational research and big stories, but are forced to into playing politics to keep their jobs and get funding. This is happening in my lab (small group led by a young career scientist). My PI and I would love nothing more than to publish a big story in a top journal that pushes our field forward; and we could. Instead, we have to spend our time on a dozen small side projects that no one cares about and no one cites just to keep afloat. Her, so she can get funding for the lab and get tenure for job security, me so I can get scholarships to stay in grad school. She was reprimanded by admin since we weren't publishing enough, and they compared us to another lab that literally publishes the same f-ing paper over and over with different species ("Genome of species x", "Genome of species y", "Genome of species z", over 20 times). These smaller projects are a waste of time, but admin just looks at the publication numbers and say we're doing good. This is just one of the reasons I'm planning on jumping ship from academia after graduation...

I really sympathize. I know many regret what has become of science, and academia, and wish it were otherwise. But this is not enough. We need to fight back and try to change the system, or it will not change and may get even worse. I encourage you to stay in academia if you can, since it is easier to change the system from within.

Another component to overfitting is interaction, where there are multiple aspects that are related in and of themselves. As a result, the model starts "double counting" that aspect. Reminds me of the previous videos on correlation and causality.

Research fraud has facilitated the entire climate change lie. Climate research fraud has in turn led to billions and billions of dollars being diverted from real issues (like hunger, homelessness, illness, etc.) to useless climate action instead.

Abandonment of morality. “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. Exodus 20:16 You might also make a case that there is an institutional problem, the prioritization of paper writing which is supposed to be the culmination of excellent work but has the practical reward for quantity over quality. And the moral problem with that is trickier, that the value of a man or woman is linked to their productivity, the principle of slavery. This principle is taught in academia at a young age by the giving of tests and awards to the high achievers rather than the focus of making all people productive.

If this were really just attributable to type 1 errors and p hacking, why is it that when authors were contacted for assistance replication went up from 33% to 49% (4:51) ? Still far too low, but from approximately a third to approximately a half suggests to me that the competence of those trying to do the replication is a factor, otherwise why would there be any disparity in replicability between the assisted and non-assisted groups? Data is data. It should be irrelevant whether it comes from paper or from the authors. So, it would appear likely that advice from the authors provides a leg up in replicating their experiments. I haven't read the article in question, but it might be that one actually has to have expertise with a specific subject matter or methodology before attempting to replicate. Did they? How far off was the significance in the replication failures (e.g. p < .07 ?)? It might also be a question of communication perhaps not enough information is going into the methodology sections, or perhaps they need to be more didactic or narrativized. I find it ironic that I cannot determine the answers to my questions from this presentation.
