I hate to be the one to bring it up, but he is at the right age to present with schizophrenia. Schizophrenia doesn't happen "because of" something. It runs in families, and the first symptoms show up from late teens to mid 20s. The genetic link hasn't been identified yet, but evidence for any precipitating event to "cause" it is completely absent. And we do know that it runs in families.

You are correct. My mother was schizophrenic. She had a schizophrenic brother. When I turned 18 I was afraid that I would become schizophrenic. Thankfully, that didn't happen.
True…but the fact that this Delta 8 product can cause these problems and he had been using that product…then it’s probably that product. Marijuana and marijuana related products have been linked to mental issues like this….but also since this product isn’t regulated it could contain other things that could have caused it too. Plus they didn’t say he has schizophrenia….they said a “psychosis like state”. I knew someone who smoked marijuana and was paranoid all the time…they thought they were being followed everywhere and they didn’t have schizophrenia or anything else….it was the marijuana that caused it and they started smoking it in their teens. These things affect the brain…even if others want to claim they don’t and want to act like they are safe to use. States where they’ve made marijuana legal have reported increased psychosis rates and so it’s only logical that products made from ingredients that come from that plant would have the same effects on people….especially when that product isn’t regulated.
@@starshine3588 Correlation does not imply causation. Sometimes it takes awhile to get a correct diagnosis. I don't know if the science backs up their theory. I'm interested about learning more to see if it's possible.
What you are saying is the most common refrain put out there by those pushing for drug legalization...and it's just not true. It is well known that everything from marijuana to psychedelics can cause psychosis and trigger long-tern schizophrenia. Who's to say that use of Delta-8 aka "marijauna-lite" does not do the same?
