If she had any interest in him or even in being social she would have looked up and made eye contact with him. She didn't and that's his sign to leave her alone. That makes him a predator no matter how nice he talks

That is actually completely unacceptable behavior for him to keep speaking to her when she has made it clear that she does not want to speak to him. It doesn't matter if she's deaf or not. He should just assume she doesn't want to talk to him and move on. If he was a man or a gentleman, that's what he would've done. He acts more like a predator. She would have talked to him and he would have came at her with some strong moves. That's why women don't talk to men cuz they know what's coming. Deaf or not.

I kind of figured she might be deaf because she had absolutely no reaction at all when he started talking to her. Very well done film.
I think I will show this to my HS freshman class and pause after his minor tirade but before the reveal that she is deaf and ask for possible explanations for what is going on. See how many possibilities/explanations they can come up with. The lesson is not "everyone who doesn't respond is deaf". (referencing numerous comments about meeting tons of deaf girls without realizing it. They intended to be humorous, I think. I found them funny anyways.) The lesson, I think, is don't judge a person's response or lack of response too harshly. While the lack of response may actually be rudeness instead of deafness, it might be unintentional rudeness. I can think of a couple moments in my life where it was beyond my ability to respond or I was too angry to respond civilly, or so upset that I felt like being a little rebellious and deliberately rude. The REAL LESSON is you never know what they may be going through. Don't make a perceived rudeness, deliberate or not, into more than it actually is. Most people deserve the benefit of the doubt.
