  Wow, sure glad there are folks like this in the world. That is pretty brave to dive in the water to grab that net and then haul a bird almost as big as she is back to shore...soaking wet in cold winter water. Brrrr. Props to all for the excellent outcome.

  This is their 8th season in that nest. They didn't have babies last year due to the original mom's disappearance. The new young mom and dad have eaglets in the nest now. I started following the nest on the end of their first year, but mostly on the second year. I think 9 chicks not including the new ones. They have a FB group that started in 2017 with all the photographers photos and info.@@niyablake

  Did the eagle parents kidnap two baby hawks to have a sibling for their eaglet, or did they bring them in for food but eaglet bonded so...?

  I thought this was the nest with Junior (eaglet) and Malaika (hawklet). Both fledged but Junior was killed by a high power pylon days later.

  Hi Jann! It's Gary from the Friends of the Redding Eagles nest! I LOVE this. Looks like you shot in 60 fps, and the motion is gorgeous! Seeing the youngster manipulate the fish and look over the the adult, almost like for approval. Wonderful!!!

  This is soooo crazy. This is happening more and more with eagles and the hawk babies. I saw another nest where mama brought in 2 hawk babies and not one !! Im just so glad they are not eating them and taking care of them like their own! Thank you for supplying us all with these incredible videos!

  It may be this nest. There were 2 hawklets. The youngest hawklet didn't survive. (unknown reason) But yes it's incredible. There are a few other cases like this that people captured videos and photos.
