Too many watermarks getting in the way aswell as no sound on this.
Love this ! The 12cylinder sulzer power unit are one of enginnering's finest creations in my opinion
Sorry i mean loco haulage
Thanks for a great video great memories of 1987 as it was me best year for loco hauo off all time good memories off 47100 my lords
Gosh to think the uk was THAT BAD in 1987 …. trains look much better nowadays all that filthy noise and diesel 😷😷
The train was from London to Leeds through Barnsley, sorry not 100% certain but assumed it returned to London..
Good ole' parcel sector. A 2,080HP loco for two MK1's....loved these times.
That first one wouldn't of come from brighton with an 87 as not a dual voltage loco, or diesel at that as would of come up via Oxford which at the time the gwr lines out of padington would be diesel only. As it comes up from brighton, past east croydon, under clapham junction to kensington olympia, up to the GWR main line, then up through Reading, Didcot, Oxford, Banbury etc. Every time I used that service it was a class 47. (unless the switched units when it got under the wires).
Cross Country loco hauled would change to electric at Birmingham New Street.
Usually changed locos at Coventry
Was the Park Royal going back to Derby?
Beautiful and iconic sound ❤❤❤❤
Shocking amount of litter being dumped from the window of the 47 hauled train at 5:10!!!!!!
Yes indeed, plenty of idiots on the diesel hauled trains especially. Now we are paying the price.Just look at WCR as one example.
I don't think that 45 would have come from Bradford, looks like a Saturday Holidaymaker service using the MK3's off a Weekday rake,
Pete, the Wagon is on the 8:15 Paignton-Liverpool, which must have been routed this way.
The peak is on the 08:15 Paignton-Liverpool.
Fab footage from the 1980s
millbrook station was better than southampton central better photos plus if you needed anything to eat or drink easy just up onto bridge over road to end of bridge path up the street a shop on the corner
Doesn't seem to be any sound 🤔
They can always use Neuclear, Thermal, Wind and Water Power plants for electrification!..
1986 is the year I started on my railway career. Only 3 1/2 to go!
That was my last 47 for sight back in the day, and boy did it take it’s time to come my way. Some things you never forget
Doncaster
Intercity
looks like a 56 to me ??????????

@@RailMel wow thank you
Looks like the brakes might have been dragging on those container wagons - 323 making quite a meal of it?
Totally agree, thanks for commenting. it is appreciated
I'm quite partial to Salt and Vinegar crisps - how many packets from that train? Classic Brush freight move from back in the day! 🚂👍
Thats made me chuckle. The smell was fantasic when they passed.

Nice to see Indomitable in its mainline working days, thanks for sharing. Brilliant that this fine loco has been restored immaculately in preservation at Eastleigh, and been a regular visitor to Swanage Railway 😊
Glad you enjoyed it
