    By the way, I have 100% observed how external validation can lead to increased perceived competence that actually increases the intrinsic motivation, therefore, increasing creativity, talent, skills and productivity overall. I have also witnessed this create somebody completely lacking self-awareness, with no ability to grow. Ultimately, I think it depends on the person receiving the feedback.

    Which do lean on more? 🤔

  • @AudenimLock
    @AudenimLockАй бұрын

    Hard to answer that because there’s a lot in life that I “have” to do that I don’t like so I guess I lean more extrinsic in modern everyday life but intrinsic when I’m off grid and following my passions.

    I think I'm balanced. Typically I find myself starting off with intrinsic motivation and then relying on extrinsic when I start to doubt myself or feel like I'm not seeing results fast enough. I've been feeling a bit stagnant in my dance career. I did just now have a realization (because of this question) that maybe I'm feeling stagnant because I'm not getting either of those right now. I feel like I'm not improving and I don't feel like there's much of an extrinsic motivation either.

    I feel its a bit simplistic. What about low hanging fruits, not that high in priority but easy to complete and that are another stress on your mind because your list is so big. I would do the A1, A2, A3 then there would be a new A1, A2 and A3 before I even get to the B's. Until the B's get so bad and cause so much stress they are now an A. Thus, I just feel like i am drowning in tasks all the time.

    Great short video on OODA Loops. I teach them over a longer period (2 90-minute sessions), and I talk about slow OODA and fast OODA. Slow OODA is when you have time to think, research, brainstorm, etc. This is where you dissect what you did to determine how you could do better next time. You take these improvements and practice them so that they become fluent. Once they are fluent, you no longer need to think about them and you can use them subconsciously. These then feed into fast OODA. Fast OODA is when you are in the heat of the moment. You don't have time to consciously think, you are mosty drawing on what you can already do fluently to act faster and better than the environment. Here is how I discuss in class, and I hope it's helpful: kzread.info/dash/bejne/e3mjy9mHpanNj6w.html

    My grandpa used to call me Goldilocks he passed away last summer. He was a very smart man and always knew what to say. I’d call him when in hard times and he would always say motivational words like this that just makes sense and goes straight to the point. Lately I’ve felt out of touch and feel like this video is him speaking to me in someway. I never knew about the Goldilocks rule so this video just blew my mind a little and definitely gave me a new idea to stay motivated.
