    Worked like a charm! This is the second one I’ve had trouble with since new in 2019. I’ll add that I had a nice amount of gunk on the inside metal tabs of the white plunger that I needed to scrap off. This was in addition to cleaning and sanding the other pieces. Also if you haven’t unplugged the grey plug on the negative side of your battery yet, do it and save yourself additional future headaches. Thanks again!!

    ah buying a 30/100K skyline and putting a $100 turbo..why...

  • @Garage23
    @Garage238 күн бұрын

    Because this one isn’t going to fall apart at 14 psi like the stock one did, also upgrading to a larger more expensive turbo would entail thousands more in fuel system, engine management, and other supporting mods that we just aren’t ready for yet.

    Did you get any type of error when trying to start? Like did it say you weren’t holding the brake when you actually were? Or no evidence other than the car not starting? I’m having the same issue and have for awhile. I’m on my second battery in three years. The first time the battery seemed to fix the issue for awhile. Now the issue has returned and a new battery didn’t help this time. Just trying to cover bases before I start digging down to the stupid starter.

  • @Garage23
    @Garage238 күн бұрын

    Occasionally we would get a BCI malfunction error on the dash, the thing is there are two issues at play here, the “smart charging” system and the bad break switch. There is a small plug on the negative battery cable that needs to be removed, this will keep the voltage at 14.5 rather than variable. This along with a new brake switch will solve your starting problems, the downside is 14.5v is technically overcharging and will slowly degrade the battery over time so make sure you buy one with at least a 3 year warranty.

  • @nickhearld8957
    @nickhearld89577 күн бұрын

    Just an FYI for anyone reading the comments looking for answers my issue ended up being the starter relay located in the engine fuse box. Thank you for the reply! Those Armadas in general truly pack a punch when it comes to off road. It’s the Nissan Patrol which is Nissan’s competitor to the Toyota Land Cruiser. Now sure the American spec Armada has been tuned more for on road comfort over the global Patrol’s off road prowess, but it’s still quite capable and with mods like what you’ve done you’ve got a mighty SUV that goes toe to toe with the Land Cruiser

The control arm is really sweet, I remember watching your old videos about it, I got a 1st Gen Armada 4x4 and I've found that a lot of the suspension components are the same on the 2nd Gen's, the vehicles pretty much look the exact same underneath! You could look into marketing the rear control arms to 1st Gen Armada people too, I'm about 100% sure that those are the same part, you can cross reference the part number and also the aftermarket control arms to check for sure! Looks exactly the same. Also I really like the roof rack and the whole build!

Parts were a lot cheaper back then to I did the oem r34 gtr motor, interior and exterior but kept the rwd and 5 speed transmission. The r34 seats needed a little modification as the floor plan is different dew to the transmission tunnel on the gtr, apart from that most bits are bolt on. Did you get the raised fender supports ?

    I have a 2020 armada it crank over but no start. Said it was my starter any ideas?

  • @Garage23
    @Garage23Ай бұрын

    Starting issues on Armadas always come down to either the smart charginf system, or the brake switch. So i would start with cleaning the switch as in this video as it is the cheapest option, or just replacing it all together. Next would be the smart charging system, to disable this you need to unplug the sensor attached to the negative battery terminal. This will keep the system at 14.5 volts instead of variable. There is a chance the battery is bad so have it tested and replace if needed.

  • @lloyde-t5n

    yes its due to small wastegate, just think about it, the gate at the higher rpms hasnt got enough space to allow the bigger and faster volume of air to escape so it will take the path of least resistance. porting the gate out will helpt eleviate this. ive just picked up the max t04e internal gate turbo with the 3 inch compressor inlet to replace my Garrett t28 stage 3 hyrbid rated for 420ish horse. looking forward to having a turbo that wont leak oil and water from the core.
