I wanted to do the opposite of what you have done here. I find the non photo blue really annoying because it fades right into the white paper and I can't see the artwork at all. 😢 But I have a few art books that use these blue line comics pages for exercises and I'd like to darken them so that I can see what I'm doing. Normally I've used levels but it picks up the texture of the paper and gets way too dark. Your method was much more helpful so thanks. It still wasn't perfect but much nicer than what I could figure out myself. 👍🏻

Hi, I was about to buy the brush set, the subtotal is $10 but when I'm paying the total changes to $12,20. Can I know why? Is it the website's fees or the price has come up? (Still didn't proceed with the purchase cause I put only the $10 needed for the transaction in the card) Thanks

Hi Jimmy. I'm trying to make the same thing happen in Clip Studio Paint that you have here, but I'm only getting a gray. Can you show how to manage the layers and/or layer adjustments in CSP?

sorry, but i don't get it. why not just use some white on it? isn't a faster and better solution overall?

Hi, What should I do in the settings in Paint Studio so that the contour line in A4 format, 300 dpi, (size value in mm) is straight and the contour teeth are not visible?

I'm sorry, it's probably because I'm translating into English via google tranlator, what I mean is that as I zoom in or out of a drawing drawn in contour line it loses quality, the lines start to be jagged.@@JimmyReyesArt

THANK you for your insight, that using a Crow Quill is just the same 1 or 2 types of strokes, at different lengths and angles, that you must learn. If you try to use a Crow Quill like a pencil or a brush (or even like a fountain pen, which has a little round tip at the end), you are doomed to frustration and failure.

I spent 11 years selling Chinese knockoff watches and sunglasses at the flea market. That's 11 years of business school. I made money, I made mistakes, but I learned from them. Before that, I spent a couple years soliciting advertising for a local newspaper. That can be handy too. All I gotta do now is get my work done.

So, in your professional opinion, would you say that the Strathmore Bristol 200 series can take a beating more than the 3-,4-, or 500? Because I, too, use nibs & brushes. I have been searching forever for a board that withstand my brutal treatment of it. Thanks for this vid. 👍

Yes this 200 series holds up well.

Great video. You mentioned using an inkjet printer to print the artwork in blue. Inkjet dyes can become extremely running and crisp edges can start spreading like crazy when wet media gets anywhere near them. I'm curious if moisture from the black ink ever causes the blue ink to run or spread into white areas.

The vellum bristol boards they work well with air brush, I once did a painting of Superman versus Popeye (just messing around) all in black and Pac-Man in color and the airbrush painting did not bleed through! 😎👍 This is of course a Strathmore brand and I think it was a 200 series 11 by 14 about 15 sheets very good stuff paper feel like a canvas soft and or texture like it is not smooth! So to my point it can still be use to make comics but it's best for illustration or painting.

Just a quick note, I learned something new about inking with a Crow Quill in the first 30 seconds of your video. Never seen anyone lay the nib over 90° and pull out against the nib’s back. Gotta try that sometime.

Okay, I watched your video on how to turn B&W pencil art into Non-Photo Blue line art, and have been playing with it in Photoshop, BUT, the blue line seemed...strong. So I looked online to verify the numbers you gave in the video, which hexes out to #4BABCE, but everything I find online from commercial printers etc, says that Non-Photo Blue is #A4DDED (R-164 G-221 B- 237). Comparing them side-by side, there is a serious difference between the colors! I came her to ask you about it, and found this video, so I watched it first (just in case), but you said nothing about it here, So,...am I missing something as to why you give an entirely different shade as being Non-Photo Blue (Depends on your printer, or due to yadda-yadda...), or what? I don't want to do a bunch of conversions on art pieces I have, and then have to do convert them again to print correctly. Y'know? Thanks for the help!
@lorensanders8501 Жыл бұрын
Nicely done. How about doing the conversion for Paint Shop Pro users as many still can't afford Photoshop (and it is definitely more user friendly for most folks)?
