Rented the Forest Service cabin in July 23. Very little green. They saved the trees there and around the store. Across the main road from the cabin everything is dead. A few small spots across the lake from the store are green and unburned. The peninsula campground is burned and the loop is blocked by down trees on the west side. So sad. Heard the unburned places were saved by Indian fire crews. Thanks warm springs natives!

great video, very clear and well explained. I need to know what is the name of the hose that connects to the manifold. I Iinstalled on my headers last fall, since then the whistling noise started, so i will replace the valve next to the break booster, but what is the name of the other hose at 1:36 of the video, would really appreciate to know, thanks

Can you not hook it to the truck battery. And, mount a tender that runs off truck battery. To keep it charging driving down the road?? Im thinking of trying it. Its just a 12 wire. Where as the isolators. You have to hook a #8 wire to truck battery.

Excellent video! Just to be clear; all you need for your battery setup is the battery and the box mentioned in the links? (this sounds very redundant but I'm a little confused as to why folks would buy a portable power station which seems a lot more expensive with lower capacity than your setup). Do you have that battery wired up to your alternator or just take off from home with a full charge? Thanks again, I'm hoping to try this heater with my rooftop tent - I live in western Montana and looking to extend camping season.

Thanks. Yes I couldn't justify the price of those power stations and that's why I put this together. You just need a deep cycle battery. I recharge it at home and I also wired in a battery isolator switch to charge it from the alternator. Kickass products has a kit for that.

What do you do to prep the heater for storage in the summer? Do you drain the diesel and crank up the heater and let it run till it’s out of fuel?

Last few years I didn't do anything with it. Last year it started right up. Will have to see how it does this year when I go to fire it up.

Do not spray water in your vacuum hoses, it goes directly into the engine.

I think the biggest issue with why these jeeps usually have issues is from neglect. They are pretty reliable and people tend to just run them in to the ground. Most of the issues that I ran into were either neglect or just using cheap parts used by previous owner.

Did you remove the fuel in the fuel lines and filter while it was stored? I can't find any info on how to prepare the unit for storage. Or if it is even necessary.

No, I never did that. I think diesel is more forgiving than gasoline.
