I know you made this video 4yrs ago , you said you might space your holes wider for strength, but if you use left over pieces of dowel to plug the holes it would add strength back into it and you can still move the dowels around any way you want as long as nothing is glued permanent , you can even have more spacing at the top and bottom by using any hole you want to by screwing several dowels to the wall then you can pull the complete rack off when you want without unscrewing any thing

Gen 5 is the same grip except maybe more aggressive and has a light rail. To say this is waaaaaay better, would be factually false.

A buddy purchased a heavily used gen one G-17 around 1990, with many rounds through it. I don’t ever think it was cleaned. It had, get this about 1/8” of compacted powder residue on the feed ramp and into the throat to the barrel. So much that it wouldn’t chamber a round! Initially, I thought well we will just polish that factory feed ramp and went after it with a felt bob and some flitz. Yeah, we were just polishing the build up. Haha. Had to use I believe, one of those nut picks you used to get with the nut cracker kit. Anyway after about 5 minutes with the pick I could see and feel base metal. Eventually, I was able to chip away all the build up and polish the feed ramp and the lead in to the throat of the pistol. Brushed out the slide with a tooth brush and some woolite from the nearby wash room in the basement. Realized I needed to pull the innards out of the slide…. Took a minute to figure that out. Looked like a half greasy, half dry machined hole when I pulled out the striker and extractor parts. Cleaned that up too with Qtips… many. Put it all back together with some 3 in 1 oil. We excitedly ran off to the gravel pit to shoot it. Didn’t think about the magazines…. Holy smokes they were so, so, dirty too! Several malfunctions later we took the magazines apart and cleaned them out with a sock, lol. Had some reloads that we were saving for war. Loaded mags and shot the rest of the afternoon, probably around 500 rounds and worn out thumbs from loading those mags up. I remember that there was hardly any of the black finish on the slide and the pebble grain grip was very slick and worn in spots. Wish I knew the story behind that gun. Anyway, it was carried for a few months by my Buddy and shot a lot more. Eventually he traded it for a brand new gen 2 Glock 17. I wish I would have bought it off him. Thinking back, it did have the pencil barrel and that funny cutout in the front of the grip. Funny how it goes…. We had a treasure and didn’t even know it! I remember articles thoughts the years about Glocks going 10’s of thousands of rounds and still accurate. Yeah, keep it my friend. It’s part of history.

I still have a Glock 17 that I bought from a friend 30 years ago?, Or more. Just watched another video that someone explained the differences of a Glock 1 gen, and a Glock 2 gen? My Glock does not have the pebbling completely around the grip like a Gen 1. But the Gen 1 according to his video has a pebble texture on the front of the trigger guard. My Glock has the Gen 2 texturing on the Grip? But has the pebbling on the trigger guard like a Gen 1? It also has the non-captured spring like a Gen 1? Is my Glock kind of a end of Gen 1, beginning of Gen 2 hybrid? Don't know! Plus I don't know from watching videos that show a 3 letter ID serial # maybe in Europe? Mine has a two letter ID serial #. So I don't know when it was made? MY hunting buddy bought this brand new. I paid him $700 so he could buy a new deer rifle. Have never had a mis-fire, or any problem EVER. Love it, but a lot of folks don't care for them, I don't think I could ever sell it. Mine is not as fancy as yours with the pre-owned police thing. At the time I purchased this, it was pre-banned! Has two original 14 round clips, at the time the laws only let them have 10 round mag's.

Awesome, it's both a pencil barrel and a police trade in! Talk about early adoption! Now all you need is one of those funky chopped up Gen1 Glock 19s! Good luck there... very few have been made, and even fewer ever been up for resale, and only one on Gunbroker in its history, and it went for about $8,000. Just ribbing you. I'm jealous, but perfectly content with my D.C. Gen2 19 police trade-in and my Gen1 17 and P80 reproductions... especially that I gifted my father the P80 one serial# after mine!

In case you didnt specify: MPDC = "Metropolitan Police, DC". MPD = the main police force in DC. Distinct from WMATA ("Metro Transit" police). There are at least 18 other LE agencies in DC!

Wonder if the recoil spring has been replaced before you bought it, i have a few Glocks and it’s fairly common for some to have failures to feed or extract when the spring is new, why I always go through a few boxed for heavier grain 9mm before bringing it down to 115gr to break the spring in, wonder if they did a small restoration before selling it.

Have you thought about making these gun wall racks again? I would certainly like to buy a wall rack from you exactly like the one in this video size and stain color. If you don’t make them can provide the exact dimensions of the gun rack that appears in this video? The pegs appear to be 1.5 inches apart. Nice job!!!!
