Remember buying this DVD 2002-2003, and so happy that I did. Russ Miller brought something different to the table, a way to communicate with the average joe drummer, not to tale anything alway from the other great drummers.

Louie Bellson with the old school classic double breasted gold button blue blazer, pocket square, stripped French Cuff shirt. Just as classy as it gets. Never goes out of style for the stylish

This opened my eyes to Tico's place in the history of drumming and he's great! This despite the god awful mix where the snare is maybe 3x louder than the kick and toms.

Ahhhh, back on the days when great drummers would "play" the drums and not just BANG on them.

That’s some serious generalizing… In many ways the art form is as alive if not more alive today. I studied w/Murray a long time. He could only take on so many students and you had to audition to get on board. He always said this stuff could not be taught in an hour nor on a video… He was a true genius - but there’s less banging today than there was when this was shot.

He made slaughters music come with his feel and groove!!! Love the hair !! It’s a huge shame that he is no longer part of the band!! Now they have a drummer who doesn’t have the same feel as blas recordings and he likes to show off which to me is such a ego maniac

LOL...careful now. Your ignorance of interdependence on the drum kit, hand and foot technique, and complex poly rhythms is on display.

I met Simon around 2001 and asked him to sign my copy of this video. He asked me what it was and where I got it. When I told him he said he completely forgot this existed.
