I'm just gonna say that even if the restraining order was granted, he would have still killed her. Given that he had no regard for the law, and his intent was to end his own life, I suspect the restraining order wouldn't have changed anything here.

I'm not convinced that Sid is the killer here. If he took something that knocked him out through the entire party and he woke up to the guests being gone and Nancy dead in the bathroom, it seems logical to me that maybe someone had stayed behind after everyone else left and they attacked Nancy, killing her for any number of reasons. And when Sid woke up he was clearly still being affected by the drugs mentally. I think because they have that volatile type of relationship that has resorted in violence before, he assumed that he did something (which is why he said some of the things he did when he was wandering the hotel hallways), and because of that the cops never bothered to look into any of the people who had attended the party that night.

I know a lot of your subs are women. Im a guy. And I really was happy to hear you point out the difference of how the father would have been hailed as some kind of macho hero for doing exactly what Marianne did. Honestly not trying to grandstand, because I didn't really understand a lot of frustrations y'all have. Seeing is believing, and the hatred is sadly pretty real.

After this one, I actually appreciate how people were for sex after marriage. After those three deadbeats, Marianne could have had grown old with her children even if this would have happened. I mean, what are the chances of actually losing all of your children and not being able to have more even if you wanted to? It truly broke my heart that she only went back home when she realised she was going to die. She was her only family and to part with her after an argument must have left a permanent mark on her. Oh and 7 year olds can't seduce nobody. Interesting how this is the second time I'm 'experiencing' this situation, in modded Skyrim I just found a man similarly 'seduced' by a girl

There's also the fact that after she lost her only child after getting her tubes tied that is horrifying. There is a case I heard of, I think it was in China, where a couple's 3 children m*rdered and stacked on top of one another and the woman had already had her tubes tied. They wound up staying together and found a Doctor that successfully "untied" her tubes so that they could have more children.

Having fallopian tube removal is also sterilization and basically 100% no chance of pregnancy (cause there’s no tube for it pass through, while tied not only is there a chance but also can be very dangerous/fatal if trapped in tube) Obviously hard to get even tied to begin with let alone removal but for anyone 1 billion percent sure no kids, I always say the removal route (because tied can be sometimes reversed, but removal is permanent only way for pregnancy is IVF) -coming from a person that got tubal removal at age 22 no kids (miracle I know 😂) I always try to offer my knowledge and advice to others if they need help in these situations :) or to provide info in case people don’t know :)

I think one of the worst things aside from the crime itself (and the truly sick defence) is that Marianne was sterilised and then lost her last child. I know it was by choice and at the time she thought it was right, but she would never have been expecting to lose her only daughter that way. I just hope she didn't have any additional trauma from not being able to start a family with her husband later down the line.

So I grew up in the 70's living 20 min away from Disney Land and used to go there around 5-7 times a year as my mom was given multiple entry passes through her work every year. I was able to take all my friends for free. Super fun! As you couldn't really find anything out about Tom Swayer's Island I'm going to describe it for you. It was awesome for little kids. It had underground tunnels, super narrow, secret passage ways also underground, places to climb and a maze of winding underground pathways that meandered deeper and deeper underground which lead to caves and mysterious doorways... It may not have looked like much from the photos above ground but that is why kids liked it and the raft was perfectly safe, it moved at a snails pace. There was always someone manning the raft and there were always instructions when you boarded. Keep your arms and legs inside, etc. Anyhoo, thanks for this story, I think you did a great job. I know Disneyland so well, (well the Disneyland of the 70's) because I went there all the time growing up. And yes, if you would do a part 2 I'd def be interested. Very well done!

As a parent, this one hit me in the feels. I've had my kids go missing briefly, and the feeling can't be described. It's awful. The worst thoughts flash through your head, you think of all the worst-case scenarios. Marianne lived the worst case. My heart goes out to her.
