  Yes I enjoyed this video. I myself have been thinking of playing but I am not sure of what I would be requiring to play. Flight stick, headset, vr? My PC is good. I play war thunder on the highest graphics settings. But I think I would enjoy Sim game more. As the match won't end due to a point system like war thunder.

  Just cannot imagine the stress and fear on all sides. These fighter planes took so long to reach combat altitude for bomber intercept missions. Bombers also flew for hours. Way too much time to think must have been pure torture. Especially for the younger newer and inexperienced pilots and crew. And for the allies bailing out was almost suicide as the there is the pacific ocean and by this stage in the war the Japanese civilians had been through so much, that they killed most allied pilots who bailed out over Japan. Ironic that these airmen would have a better chance to survive if the military or police got to them 1st and not the public. Similar to downed pilots in late war Germany.

  After the Hood, I don’t think any British battleship could sink the Bismarck or Tirpitz on a one on one encounter. Just saying! Anyway just look at the mighty Yamato, just use aircraft….Tirpitz and 22,000 lb Bomb ?

  Generally satisfactory outcome. I'm surprised that British explosives and British ammunition handling practices didn't turn POW into a firework. And that neither Tirpitz's bow nor stern fell off. In reality neither Tirpitz nor POW got a fair crack of the whip -- the sections of the Wikipedia articles regarding POW's loss and the design influence that had on Vanguard is fascinating.

  I think british ships blowing up, because they had their main gun turrets stuffed with ready-to-use ammunintion and open security hatches - was resolved by ww2. Also, there is no ammo detonation system in 1946 :P

  @@Fishyyy Not resolved in WW2. It's what did for Hood; hit on a 4" battery by X turret, excess ammunition present, flashed back to the magazine. Exactly like 31st May 1916 ... but yes there are limits to the combat simulator

  At least that's the latest theory. The hit was on a 4" magazine, not the battery, I think? The magazine was uncovered by Hood's big wake removing the water protection below the water line. Technically that's a citadel penetration, which could've destroyed any ship.

  Some here saying the Tirpitz messed up by closing distance- I can't help but feel the POW made a bigger mistake by doing the same. It had crossed the T at the start and everything! Just threw away half its firepower!

  thought for sure Prince of Wales had forfeited when she refused to keep all ten of her guns in the game, but it was a drawn out slugfest and Prince of Wales won, if by the skin of her teeth
