On The Water With Donnie

On The Water With Donnie

Hello fellow river and boating enthusiasts! I grew up on the upper Mississippi River in a family of commercial fisherman; to say that it’s in my blood is putting it lightly. I built a 20 foot houseboat from scratch (not a kit) and plan to sail it to the Gulf of Mexico in the fall of 2023. My channel is where I post informative videos about the workings of the river showing sights and sounds of what life is like on the water. I also fish a lot and plan to share this with you, whether I’m ice fishing in Wisconsin, chasing walleye in South Dakota or pulling in saltwater bruisers in Costa Rica. I hope you’ll come along with me.
Thanks for following my channel!

Hi oaklandraider. I have always been a believer in catch and release. Especially large fish. In this case, I wanted to release it, but the guide kept it to help feed his family. Things are very expensive in the Bahamas. They utilize any means to help put food on the table. Have a good day.

Hello from the quiet rainy Ozarks Donnie! Another video of value! Hope you both are well and enjoying your day! Do you have to turn your motor off in the lock? Looking forward to more river adventures. Tight lines and bent poles!

Hi Phillip! Thanks for the comments. I continue struggling to find the root cause of the engine shutting down. No, the new fuel pump did not fix the problem, but all of the troubleshooting and diagnosing I did, pointed to the fuel pump as the problem. The boat is now winterized and put away for the winter, so I'll get back on it in the spring. As far as turning the engine off in the locks... I believe some states (Minn.?) make it mandatory to turn them off, for fear of carbon monoxide poisoning. Most locks don't care one way or another. I think it's a good idea. Thanks for following along with us, it was quite the experience. Donnie
