How are you finding the sale rate? I'm a reseller on Poshmark (for 6 years and getting ready to quit) and Ebay (which I LOVE and will continue). I really want to be able to pay our family's medical bills but just can't maintain high sales regularly.

Hi Lydia, I will be making a video soon on how I check the STR of the inventory I pick up. Basically I make sure the number of sold listings is equal to or more than the number of active listings. Stay tuned for the video and I will walk you through the process.

The biggest problem for me with the retreat is that it gives very little theoretical basis and a lot of crucial information is withheld only to be revealed way too late in the course, or never given at all. - Some concepts are thrown in there like "sankara", "samasamadi", etc., but the framework in which to place these concepts is completely missing and I found it extremely frustrating. A lot of these concepts are much more complex and ambiguous than Goenka makes them out to be, and when I was thinking about them during the course I could not get past some apparent contradictions (some of which where easily solved afterward with a quick google search, others remain contradictory after lots of reading). - Vipassana is only part of the Buddha's teaching and in the course it is made out to be the only (or most important). This course does not place the practice in perspective of the wider buddhist (and hindoeist) tradition, leaving the students with a lack of understanding of what it is they are doing. Also, it is completely unclear how much of this course is Goenka's interpretation of Vipassana. - Vipassana is introduced only on day 4. The course is just too slow. On the 2nd and 3th day I was experimenting with anapana, expanding my awareness throughout the body instead of keeping it fixated on the nose area. The next day it turns out that I was doing Vipassana... Frustrating! Worse even: on the first day I was under the impression that we were doing Vipassana already, which resulted in a lot of questions that turned out to be moot. Now, Goenka might argue that the course has to progress slowly; but I would argue that he should at least introduce what is coming, so that it becomes possible to place everything in perspective from the beginning. Because the better you understand what you are doing, the better you can guide your process. As a result of so much lack of information, at the end of the course there were two sorts of people: those who had way to many questions, and those who were ridiculously uncritical, understanding the concepts and practice wrong, and were boasting about what crazy things they experienced (completely missing the only point that was actually very clear throughout the course: that it is not about experiencing extraordinary things). For example: on day two my whole body was tingling with electricity: but while it may feel extraordinary, there is NO insight in this whatsoever. (I would suspect that an out-of-body experience contains no insight either, and the so-called "floating through the meditation hall" is mostly a result of expectation and imagination.) My point: the lack of rigorous information allows everybody to bestow the concepts with their own wild fantasies... Still an interesting experience though; I would recommend it, but I would suggest reading up on it before you go.

Thank you so so so much for your indepth information about Vipassana meditation@sheena Jean. I am doing this meditation for more than five years and even served for more than 10 times in different centers. Please please whoever wants to join the Vipassana Meditation do not leave the center in 2 or 3 days because many people will be waiting for the meditation in que so other people will not get the opportunity to join. for sure 2 or 3 days it will be intense, if you pass those third day surely you will complete 10 days course. Please do not expect non veg food, comfort beds, and any kinda material things. OH world health organization have circulated that by 2030 people will suffer from anxiety and depression more than the diseases like cancer, diabetes. These diseases will have medications but the anxiety, depression will not have any medications so only the Vipassana meditation will help to control the anxiety and depression. Please do join and experience vipassana and apply in your daily life surely it will be very very useful and better in your daily life and even to your families, kids, and even to your community. sadhu sadhu sadhu

After having started Vipassana 1.5 years ago (Jan 2018), and having kept up the practice properly, and attended 2 more 10-day courses, it is clear to me that inner peace is a necessary pre-requisite for any outer/world peace. And Vipassana meditation is the best way I've yet encountered to default to more inner peace. Mindful that our teacher Mr. S.N. Goenka was prompted to Vipassana teacher (and entrusted by his teacher Sayagyi U Ba Khin to return the technique to India (land of origin) and to spread it across India, and to then spread it across the world: mission accomplished) 50-years ago, I wrote a long article which some may find interesting. It is also a call-out for "More Inner Peace". www.linkedin.com/pulse/50-years-ago-1969-vipassanaan-ancient-meditation-returned-kapadia/ With metta and best wishes to all.
