  Just spent a day with my Siddiepuss - he's 18 and he's been blind due to a stroke for the past 3 years. He's really mellowed due to his disability and he brings the same joy and contentment as the day I picked him up as a young recue cat.

  Hi there, microchips can only be implanted by vets, vet nurses (under veterinary direction) and those who have been specifically trained to do so. We cannot recommend trying to microchip a cat yourself as this could put the cat in harm. It would also likely be cost prohibitive as it's usually only between £20-30 to microchip your cat with your local vet.

  Good advice. For a long time, I've been wearing my own T-shirts upon my visits to the Cat Rescue Centre. Now I have a proper Cats Protection T-shirt to wear, so everyone will see more clearly that I'm a cat-cuddling volunteer. I remember, a long time ago, meeting a lonely grey and white cat named Cody. He'd been stuck in the homing pen for well over a year. He loved my company, make no mistake, but what he really wanted was a proper forever home to call his own. No-one came forward to adopt him, so I took the matter of helping him into my own hands. I wrote a story in the words he might have uttered, to make it look like he was telling it, and then took the story in. Shell took the story and read it. She put up the story in a place where people could read it easily. After another week, one lady read the story I'd written. She came along and gave Cody the home he longed for. My story gave Cody a very happy ending. I'm sure he can't thank me enough. Mew.

  Yes! I've secumbed to my cats insistence! Usually 4:30/5:30 feeding..back to bed then 1 hour later same pawing ..this time to go outside...then 30 minutes later screaming to be let back in..its good exercise for me going up and down stairs. Resulting in a cup of green tea. Mr. China then settles down till about 1pm ..and so do I ! ..I've now adapted the same 'cat shift schedules' these last few years...(good job I don't have to go to work)!! Its 6:56 and theres much screaming Meowing outside..must go and let the cat in!

  I don't have trouble with other cats coming into my house. I have no cat flap. Oliver is an indoor cat and is scared of everyone except me. If anyone comes to the door he runs and hides. This causes problems at the vets as he is so scared.

  Our 9 month your old gets on very well with our older cat but she still hides a lot not all day but she's otherwise happy we don't know what we're doing wrong

  I start mine with one of those lick sachets, then do the pilling, then finish the sachet to ensure the pill has gone down.

  We have started fostering 2yr old stray cat and have started searching about spaying cats. I have read and understood the importance but what I cannot search on internet is -If its ok for us to spay cats before one litter and deprive the cat of becoming mother.Do cat wants to become a mother?

  It's a misconception that cats are better off having at least one litter. There is no benefit for a cat to have ‘just one litter’ before being neutered. In fact, they will be much healthier and happier if they have the operation before they reach sexual maturity as breeding can be draining and sometimes harmful for female cats.
