Just having Capt Marvel in the 1st Avengers would have really changed things.
I'm probably in the minority when I say this. I'm fine with the original ending as the Canon ending in a sense. I think the original ending was perfectly fine, in a way of speaking sure everyone wasn't saved but Peter Still did what Spider-Man does in the end and I like the fact that they brought back many of the other characters and created different iterations. Seeing a James Rhodes Iron Man Who practically became a cyborg is freaking awesome. Wolverine as a zombie was interesting, and it was nice to see him have beef with Namor and Quasar for some reason. If anything that story implies that despite the zombification he held back his hunger to keep protecting Shadow Cat. Then Spider-Man using Sandman from this timeline to help cure everything is absolute genius. My only thing is that we don't know if he retains the memories from the previous Loop but I do like to imagine that this does eventually happen. Not because it's some happy ending or whatever but because it is a definite interesting story. And that's what matters to me I don't think the hero should always win neat and tidy in order to make things turn out well. Sometimes a bittersweet ending is what I'm looking for, pyrrhic victorys are just fine to me.

Cool idea, not sure when it was conceived, but it’s just missing the Eternals intervention and the rise of Tiamut. I would imagine a meeting between the Avengers and the earth assigned Eternals prior to Galactus. Or if Tony did survive, and it’s now armed with galactic knowledge he’s set on the path toward Superior Ironman, and he becomes earth’s next supervillain. Both those scenarios make a great entrance for Dr Doom.
