    Nice video! I have a question, if you can reply me it would be awesome! Can a clutch basket creates vibrations at any RPMs? I hear some sounds from clutch, light sounds... But my bike vibrates alot, in handlebars, seat, footpegs... I changed the oil, plugs, chain and sprokets, i checked the tires! The vibrations goes away while i'm pulling the clutch at any speed... If the clutch cause vibrations, can you explain me, why? Are the springs behind the clutch? Thanks!

Of coarse if the block had overheated and froze-up or had any kind of cylinder damage it needs to go to the machine shop anf have up to .010 removed.

    Thank you! I wasn't aware that the discoloration and burning changed the actual property of the clutch. Mine was still in spec as far as measurements go so I was pretty stumped. After watching this and going back like half of my clutch plates could have joined the blue man group it looked so discolored, but not watching this video I wouldn't have known it was that catastrophic. Thanks a bunch!

    I have an 07 when i got it it was not starting and the clutch lever was so lose , got it running and the reason wasn't running was the stator magnets blew off so it wasn't cranking and had all sort of error codes they all disappeared with the new stator :) now when i opened the clutch i found the boss was cracked and pieces came off , fortunately they were all still inside the boss so that part was great I haven't replaced the boss yet but i fixed it by replacing the rivets with some SS nuts and bolts + washers over the cracked rivet holes, loctite them in place that's probably gonna workout for a while until i get more work done on the bike .. now my issue is after installing the oem clutch kit the clutch won't disengage and the lever is extremely hard to pull as if the plate stack is too thick ,the kit comes with a few different thickness pressure plates, initially I had 1 2.3 mm installed , went down to the stock 2.0mm and it's still not moving at all last option is the 1.6mm that comes with the kit now i'm thinking it might not the plates but some other issue do you think that ring spring plus ring on the boss that goes before the first pressure plate (with the grove) could be the culprit if they aren't perfectly straight, there is a very very slight deformation barely visible , would remove those two rings damage the clutch ? I am thinking they wouldn't affect the thickness of the stack since they sit under/inside the first friction plate (thinner one) but i could be wrong .. any clues ? the clutch basket is in good shape and seems to be installed correctly , torqued etc

    2017 FZ-10 Question replaced clutch (plates & fibers) due to the bike pulling off in gear while at a stop with the clutch pulled in, as well as finding neutral being an impossible task while the bike was stopped, Solved those issues, but there is a persistent chatter while in neutral when the clutch is let out seemingly similar to this video. In addition to that the while the bike is moving the clutch area sounds like there's at leased $3.00 in quarters in there, its a ton of noise and chatter also after 30 or so min of riding false neutrals and hard shifting starts becoming a thing? Took it to a shop and they charged me $300 to pull the clutch out inspect it and tell me that "all seems normal and it is what it is, its just a noise my bike makes now" so hoping you have an idea about what could be happening?

    i have a 2001 r1, I've changed the clutch and now when I drop the clutch at a set of light to pull away quickly it bogs... then it takes off, and its near impossible to do a clutch wheelie as it feels spongy, sometimes feels a bit jerky at low rpm in 1st gear... any ideas what it could be? I replaced steel and friction plates and diaphragm spring, also I changed oil to a silkolene pro 4 10w-40.

  • @EugeneAlston
    @EugeneAlston2 жыл бұрын

    If it is “spongy”, it sounds like it may be slipping. When you say “bogs”, do the RPMs drop? Or do they increase but the bike doesn’t go anywhere? Sounds like you may have 2 separate issues going on that may not be related to one another. 1. Spongy clutch feel/slip 2. Engine issue. Keep in mind that engine oils with moly may cause the clutch to slip.

  • @briceymofo7640

    @@EugeneAlston it doesn't slip, as soon as it's fully dissengaged it pulls hard right up to limiter and even when changing gears it's fine. Just say I'm at 3/4k and launch it I'd have to slip it like crazy to keep the revs up or it'll seem like it's bogging out. • @EugeneAlston
    @EugeneAlston3 жыл бұрын

    High heat and stress will cause it to break. Was the clutch slipping at all? You should be able to tell from the plates. Dumping the clutch to do wheelies? This will cause that too. Also, if it is over-torqued when installed. That will also cause that issue.

    @@EugeneAlston I appreciate the reply! yeah clutch had been slipping for a while but my ride time was low because of work at the time. I only have like 30k miles or so on it.

    Same issue on 2013 Yamaha R1 the boss assembly cracked from 4 different places, luckily the boss assembly didn't shatter into little pieces causing the motor to lock up. The boss assembly rivet system gets little loose with mileage so the rivet play builds a backlash, while riding when you are in negative torque and all of the sudden you your gunning the bike the boss assembly slams against itself which sends too much vibration to the whole boss assembly which causes it to crack. Just buy a new boss assembly with new clutch along with new oil and oil filter you should be good. If the boss assembly shatters under load your f**ked.

  • @richiethesailor629

    Good visual with explanation to convey what is happening during the excitement of electrons resulting in those sine wave peaks of voltage! Is that correct? I see the opposing waves, are they co-sines? I can understand better the alternation, now I wonder how to obtain direct current? We might name them an altergen and a dirrectigen for generators producing alternating current or direct current? Oh, "pressure of voltage" is a great way to understand. Alternatively, the "current of amperage" (omitted) naturally comes into a more organized way of seeing the concept. Love that "nul-state" wording, ha, I am excited with new questions to ascertain understanding!

  • @EugeneAlston
    @EugeneAlston3 жыл бұрын

    Love the excitement and thoughtful reflection! In short a “voltage regulator” controls both the flow of current and the rate. The control of directional flow is done with a diode which operates as a one-way valve or “check valve” for electrical current. The control of the amount of current can be done in a couple of ways. Most common is duty cycling. Varying the amount of time the circuit is open at a rapid rate to give a set current over time.
