KelbyOne

Our passion, our goal, the thing that gets us out of bed in the morning is helping people create the kind of images they’ve always dreamed of.

An important part of our job is looking at a technique or a concept and reverse engineering it, and then we break it down, and teach it step-by-step through our online classes, through Photoshop User magazine, through our quick tips videos, and through live seminars and conferences, so that anyone can learn - no matter where they are in their journey. Beginners learn from us. Intermediate level folks learn from us. Even advanced users come to us, too (everybody needs to keep learning new things, right?)

In short, we are awesome at making the “hard stuff” simple, and that’s why tens of thousands of people all over the world are a part of KelbyOne.

Regarding Panos, Fuji cameras have a pano mode that stitches a pano from multiple stills, much like a phone

I just bought the Sony 24-240mm lens last month. I have a 6 month trip to Japan and the Philippines coming up starting in September. I had the Sony 24-105mm and the Sony 70-200mm. The problem is a camera body and 3 lenses gets awfully heavy carrying them around all day. The 24-105mm was a super sharp lens and wasn't all that heavy but the 70-200mm, even though it was a fantastic lens, weighed close to 3 pounds. Doesn't sound like a lot but after carrying it around all day on a few other trips, I can tell you, for a 61 year old guy, it was a chore. Now that I have the 24-240 mm lens, that will stay on my camera body probably 98% of the time when I travel. I do have the Sony 12-24 mm lens for those epic wide angle shots but most of my shots will come from the 24-240mm. I've done some test shots with it and it doesn't do great in low light and it's not as sharp as the 24-104mm was but they make this program called ON1 No Noise that takes care of all those issues for me.

Sorry, why would anyone want to bring tourist free travel photos home from their travels? I know people have tried this from the dawn of photography but it always ends up in people trying to tell the story of their travels "oh, there were sooo many people there, the energy, the crowds,..." and the accompanying photos were as if of sad, forlorn places during pandemic lockdown. Just why? I understand if you're a pro architecture photographer, but for travel photography, editing out all the people totally undermines the story you want to tell.

It's pretty easy to adjust the exposure or simply crank up the dehaze tool in LR and that reveals all the dust spots that would ever appear on prints.

Ngl I’m torn right now. I’ve got a 1D X but I could buy an R6 instead The biggest issue I have with buying mirrorless over DSLR is the cost of the lenses being so high even used. Canon EF mount lenses are so much cheaper now compared to RF mount

This doesn't work at a lot of locations anymore. Tunnel View, probably the most iconic place to shoot in Yosemite, is packed at dawn (weekend), sometimes even before dawn and in Kyoto, the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest had several people there waiting for the sun to rise, a few of them "tourists" too. I was in Death Valley shooting the temporary lake at Badwater Basin in January this year and when we got to the parking lot 30 mins before sunrise, about 10 to 15 cars already there.

It’s useless replaces objects with low resolution blurry blobs of pixels, you won’t notice them on a phone but on a big screen or print there they are.

Scott: another positive of Smart Sharp...I tested HiPass and S/S on an image, and the resulting HP file ended up being substantially larger than the S/S result. Why would that be?

We still can't avoid doing it in the old-school-way if we work for printing or anywhere where the final result should only be flawless.

Interesting example of using generative fill, but I wouldn't call this step-by-step guidance, as the presentation is a bit convoluted in areas and has a bit of a process order problem. I say this notwithstanding that the level of PS knowledge one needs in order to follow Russell should be above basic beginner.

Please help me, I'm going insane. At 35:14 you use a method to straighten some keystone distortion. I've been trying to do this in my PS but cannot for the life of me get it right! Please explain how you do it. (I know there are plenty of other ways to correct perspective, but the method you used in the video looked so quick and easy I'd like to introduce it into my own workflow for quick corrections.)
