Our Blood Institute is the sixth-largest independent blood center in the nation, with 16 donor centers in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas. OBI is the nonprofit blood provider for patients at more than 240 hospitals, medical facilities, and air ambulances across all three states.

I went to elementary school with Maverick! From 2 to 4th always in his class! Sat right across from him in 4th grade! I remember he told this story to the class once. I didn’t really understand the story until now! He was such a kind kid!

We’ve been doing whole blood for about 7 years in parts of Texas. No need to add anything to whole blood in the field.

This teenage kid is now 32 and is a Dr. of Chiropractor in OKC. He really is amazing and goes around the US studying eastern and western medicine. Surviving severe asthma as a child and this 4wheeling accident, God put a fire inside him to help others. Married to high-school sweetheart Abbey McNeill Denton, they are expecting their 2nd son in 2022.
Let us not forget we are all in this together!

Lots of thanks to "God" and the medical staff, but no mention of Susan. Susan, the woman who stayed with him immediately following the accident and kept him alert and gave him comfort and hope while they waited for emergency services, is as much or MORE the reason why he made it. First Responders, whether civilian, or professional are never given enough credit. Where was "God" when that truck hit him in the first place? The Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy had as much a hand in this man's survival as "God" did. If you're in a life-threatening accident, and you live to thank people... thank First Responders/EMTs, Blood Donors, Nurses, Doctors... in that order. ♥
