Interesting fact the British Navy helped the Savoy invade Sicily by blockading Sicily in order to invade it because ithe British needed the sulfur for their gunpowder. Basically they made a deal with the Savoy so they had access to the sulfur mines, which they did not with the Bourbon leadership. And furthermore they used the excuse of protecting the marsala wine interests in western Sicily to place their gunships to actually protect Garibaldi's red landing at marsala.
