    @@thomasennenga6908 i’ve had a number of Invacare chairs that I’ve worked on and for the most part there is solid as a rock. The only thing I wish that they would go to is a different version of controller because the shark series seem to have a thermal throttling problem where they get hot easily under any real hard use. I upgraded one of them with a PG drives controller and it had so much more power. If there’s one of the InstaCare chairs, I really would love to get my hands on. It would be a TDX because those chairs for their weight class are the most capable

  • @Inventerguy16

    From what it sounds like it might have a dead battery because that’s typically what happens when the battery is dead or the chair is a neutral which will not allow you to move it while it’s on. If it only turns on when it’s plugged into the charger, then the battery is dead, but if it turns on when the chargers unplugged but still doesn’t move, it’s either a dead battery or stuck in neutral or there’s an error

    Turn answer your first question. Yes, I do work on Power Chair’s but I live in Texas. And as far as taking the seat off, it probably would require two people because it’s hard to do with one person. And to answer your last question from what it sounds like your battery is actually dead, especially if it will not turn on once unplugged.

    Hello, thank you very much for sharing the programming, I was reading the manual and it looks very complicated. I wanted to ask you if you could help me program mine. If you can, I need the following. The input will be 12 V and the output will be 24 V, now if the input is less than 12, can it be done so that the 24 V does not come out? (that it cuts off, or something like that) and the other thing is that it is programmed only at these two voltages, I am only going to use it for this. If you can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

  • @Inventerguy16
    @Inventerguy169 ай бұрын

    Thanks for commenting and I’m glad it helped. What you’re describing is a step up or boost converter which this is a buck step down converter so you would not be able to get 24 V with a 12 V input you would need 24 V or higher to be able to get 24 V on the output side, I recommend going with a 36 to 48 V power supply in two the unit so that way you have a wider range of voltages that you can program it to

  • @ahadjes

    Hi Inventroguy16, thanks for posting this video. It is helpful as the internal memory features are not documented very well. Is there a reference manual that explains the settings in detail? Or possible to create one that you could post? Thanks!

  • @Inventerguy16
    @Inventerguy16 Жыл бұрын

    Yes it does come with a manual but it’s not very easy to understand. And use the number of these units and I have figured out how to use them easily. Here is the different parameters you can set F0 means safe program so if you sent the voltage and amperage that you want And you click the send button once F0 comes up push the OK button and it will save the parameters you put in. F1 means load program. I believe the unit can store up to 10 separate programs. If you push the send button while in a program and then you cycle to F1 and press OK it will go to the loading screen with lod and a number on the screen the numbers ring from 0 to 10 and depending on which number you pick it will load that program. You can program different voltages and amperage for each program using the F0 function but you have to be already sent to the number that you want those parameters saved in land then go to F0 to save it. F2 is the circuit on feature, where as soon as you plug the unit into supply power the output will be turned on immediately. This is useful if you use it as a charge controller for solar, because as soon as it receives power, it will automatically turn on and start supplying power to your batteries or, whatever you are using it for. If you’re going to be using the unit using a number of different preset, voltages and amperage is, I would not recommend having this feature turned on because it always loads into saved program number zero as default and you have to go in and load the program with the set voltages that you want. I am unsure of what the other F3 & F4 are used for so I wouldn’t recommend messing with them. I hope this description helps I might make another video that goes into better detail of how to program and use the unit now and I have a lot more experience with it.

    I have a solar panel whose Voc (51.4V) exceeds the limit on the charge controller (45V). Isc is fine (9.8A). The controller can handle more than 15A. Since the input is from a solar panel, the V varies. Can I use this to limit the voltage into the charge controller to 45V? If the V in is less than 45V, will the actual voltage pass through? Finally, if I set the current to 10A, can you foresee any problem?

  • @Inventerguy16
    @Inventerguy16 Жыл бұрын

    You can use it to step down the voltage for your solar system, but I wouldn’t recommend pushing 10 A without improving the cooling system for the converter because the fan it comes with is garbage it can do 10 A at 45+V they will immediately overheat if there’s not a good amount of air circulation being blown across the heat sink but if you solve the cooling problem, it shouldn’t have any issues running at 45 V at 10 A

    The blades are incredibly hard to bend you will probably need to use a vice or some channel locks to be able to get enough of a grip on it to be able to bend it back. As for the cage, it might just snap back on unless it has screws that got stripped out when it fell.

In regards to your question there’s a website called www.monsterscooterparts.com they have all of the different styles of controllers enjoy sticks for these Power Chair‘s. It’s a unit you have one that has a skinny wire coming from the joystick or is it a fat one? If it’s a skinny wire it would be a different model controller than the one that’s on my Power Chair. The units with the fat wires have all in one controllers where the controller is in the joystick itself instead of being a separate module on the Power Chair.
