When you said "four out of five people are allowing me to film", do you have them sign something or just ask? I feel like a lot of women in their 40s and above will decline because they don't want to show their makeup free face. Then it is hard to build a portfolio of before and afters of natural/neutral makeup. You need the before to see the difference. Also, do you include eyebrow grooming (trimming, tweezing) or just taming and tinting? I feel like changing eyebrow shapes is a big deal.

Great question! I normally ask their verbal consent at the time, but I will also give the bride a heads up in advance :) Some people do not want to be on camera which is completely understandable. This is why a lot of the times you'll have to do model calls of some kind to get your content for your portfolio. I don't do any eyebrow grooming personally.

We don’t have a gel liner (I swear by the inglot one you use) instead it’s a cake liner that we have to mix on the palette and it was just a mess. I don’t understand why it’s not gel lol. I’m also having issues with the cream foundation palette and I’m so over it! I can’t wait to use my own makeup again. But I’m just going to keep doing my best and try to master all the products we have, it’s just stressing me out!!! I will be watching a bunch of your older videos for all your tips and tricks. I’m 44 and autistic and I want to become a makeup artist, especially for women over 40, but it is an expensive career and very subjective. I love the artistry and love to teach people but the social/selling aspect makes me worried I will not be able to do well enough to build a regular/growing clientele.

Then When we were done Shopping at Lululemon and Sephora. We went to go get food at the Food Court and J pulled out her IPhone 14 and started Calling her friends and saying loook at my cousin she is a big baby. Then she started making fun if me for my IPhone SE which still work's. Then we went to Kohl's for swim suits And J got a thong Bikini and laughed at me for having a Bikini what wasn't a Thong. Then during the car ride she laughed at me calling me mean names like a baby and stuff like that. So that's my story sorry if it's pretty long

I Have a Younger cousin who is 11 years old (I'm 12) her name (For Privacy reasons) J. J is obsessed with Sephora, Ultra, Lululemon, Aviator Nation Etc. I remember going to Sephora with my aunt and J. She bought almost $700 worth of makeup and Skincare. While I bought Some Sephora brand Makeup and just one Lip balm. It's always a little bit frustrating when artists tend to think they know what's best and do not truly listen to the client. It's a learned skill from an artist's point of view and is most important when dealing with clients.

Yes they do fantastic at their foundation sticks! Foundation sticks in my opinion are more convenient for the everyday consumer as opposed to makeup artists. We would have to depot them and scoop them on with spatulas each time to maintain sanitary conditions.

Does the steamer/microcurrent machine come with any details about what to do if it's needed for repair? I always get a bit worried with multi use machines because say of the microcurrent stops working and it needs to be sent out for repairs, you're out of a steamer and your magnifying lamp.

I haven't checked into it specifically, but that's a risk I feel like you'd have to take with any equipment no matter if it's multi-use or not. I do know that it comes with a year warranty, but after that I'm not sure.

I use the mermaid pro series, not the signature and I mix the Starpil Starsoft for a perfect combination. I love the Starsoft but their prices are thru the roof! They raised their prices really high even before covid. I’ve also heard that Demawax is good but I’m getting close to retiring so I’m not trying anything new

you should think about getting one of those robots that clean the floor they have ones that like sweep and mop. And I believe you can set timers on them when you want them to do it. And then they'll go back to the base when they're done.

I have both hard and soft wax! Soft wax is REALLY precise compared to hard wax for brow waxing. I stopped using pebble wax because it took SO long to melt.

My school uses image and I love the products! I recommend anything from the Iluma line and I loveee their new daily prevention sunscreens! Do not get the old ones from their prevention+ line unless it’s the sun serum, because their old line of spf is trash imo. I personally love the hydrating spf 30 from daily prevention, I bought this one for myself! but the entire DP line is good. Iluma serum, cleanser and exfoliant powder are amazing! I also really like the ageless resurfacing masque because it’s a chemical and mechanical exfoliant, even my husband is using it! It’s a really nice scrub. I love their lactic acid chemical peel the lightening lift, and then the Ormedic and vital c are the main lines we use for the basic facial (Ormedic for oily/combo skin, vital c for dry/mature) the Ormedic serum is so nice! Clear cell is great for acne, I like the cleaner a lot. The ageless hyaluronic acid serum (I think it’s called the hyaluronic filler) is the same as the hyaluronic acid serum that you can get with the chemical peels and it’s the best HA serum I’ve ever used. Pricey though! If you get one of those just make sure to mist the skin with water or facial mist before you blend it in so it absorbs properly!! ❤ the Max line is great for hydration and especiall mature skin while the ageless line tends to contain actives for aging skin, like retinol. I’m going to try the retin-a cream and report back lol. I plan to use Image in the future as an esthetician whenever I can make going solo work, but can’t wait to try more brands too! Also recommend their sheet masks, especially if you ever have a galvanic machine. That’s what we use for the service and I want my own just so I can do it to myself at home haha, it really infuses the skin with all the serum so beautifully! Hope this helps ❤

It seems like a really great skincare brand! The only thing I'm struggling with is that there isn't a ton of educational resources and their products are pretty readily available for the average consumer. I am excited to test everything out personally though!

I can’t wait to watch all these esthi videos!!! Saturday is my last day in my esthetics program 😢 then for the month of July I’ll be in my makeup artistry class and graduate in August! Ugh my exams are coming up, praying for the best there lol! I’m so excited, I’ve been practicing makeup on my classmates during esthetics with my beginner MUA kit I built over the last couple years! Apparently I’m the only one who’s ever done that in my school. Love that you spoke about the laws and requirements varying from state to state, it’s so important to check your own state’s laws, that’s for sure! I originally hadn’t done so and thought I could do an online course and be okay. LOL. then I learned (after a few months of paying those losers my money) that I actually needed to be an esthi in my state to do makeup. So I had to go to Empire Beauty and getting into school was a pain, expensive af too but I’m finally almost through! So in NH there’s a weird makeup requirement even for the people who don’t take that class, it’s just for the state board practical where you end up doing terrible makeup on a mannequin. Instead of a mannequin, I mainly wanted to practice on my friends so that’s what I did for those counts, and it came out so well every time! I can’t wait to be able to say I’m an actual makeup artist, I’ve been working at this for over two years now! That’s actually when I first found you, through one of your MUA kit videos ❤ As glad as I am to almost be done, I’m definitely going to miss beauty school. Maybe not the mani pedis though 😂 I finished all my facials, waxing, brow and lash tint, chem peel etc counts last week! and I got certified in lash lifts which was an extra thing, not a requirement but I’m so excited. I feel like we’re on this journey together in a way ❤ so proud of you, love! It’s been a joy watching you grow over the past couple years I’ve followed you. Here’s to personal growth, learning new skills and furthering our careers 🥂❤ you amaze me and are a huge source of inspiration for me! I appreciate you and your content so much. Actually it’s pretty common to have whole day wedding in Asia. That’s why i switched to do commercial makeup for advertising n marketing now after being a mum . Can’t be waking up early 24/7 for most days .
That's crazy! Normal western weddings don't happen like that so that just seems like a really long day haha.

I use the mermaid pro series, not the signature and I mix the Starpil Starsoft for a perfect combination. I love the Starsoft but their prices are thru the roof! They raised their prices really high even before covid. I’ve also heard that Demawax is good but I’m getting close to retiring so I’m not trying anything new

you should think about getting one of those robots that clean the floor they have ones that like sweep and mop. And I believe you can set timers on them when you want them to do it. And then they'll go back to the base when they're done.
I actually have a Roomba but it doesn’t work so well around furniture or for corners. Sometimes the trusty old broom does the best haha!

I have both hard and soft wax! Soft wax is REALLY precise compared to hard wax for brow waxing. I stopped using pebble wax because it took SO long to melt.
Soft wax is really great especially for the brows - I agree! I personally think I'll be more of a hard waxer though.

My school uses image and I love the products! I recommend anything from the Iluma line and I loveee their new daily prevention sunscreens! Do not get the old ones from their prevention+ line unless it’s the sun serum, because their old line of spf is trash imo. I personally love the hydrating spf 30 from daily prevention, I bought this one for myself! but the entire DP line is good. Iluma serum, cleanser and exfoliant powder are amazing! I also really like the ageless resurfacing masque because it’s a chemical and mechanical exfoliant, even my husband is using it! It’s a really nice scrub. I love their lactic acid chemical peel the lightening lift, and then the Ormedic and vital c are the main lines we use for the basic facial (Ormedic for oily/combo skin, vital c for dry/mature) the Ormedic serum is so nice! Clear cell is great for acne, I like the cleaner a lot. The ageless hyaluronic acid serum (I think it’s called the hyaluronic filler) is the same as the hyaluronic acid serum that you can get with the chemical peels and it’s the best HA serum I’ve ever used. Pricey though! If you get one of those just make sure to mist the skin with water or facial mist before you blend it in so it absorbs properly!! ❤ the Max line is great for hydration and especiall mature skin while the ageless line tends to contain actives for aging skin, like retinol. I’m going to try the retin-a cream and report back lol. I plan to use Image in the future as an esthetician whenever I can make going solo work, but can’t wait to try more brands too! Also recommend their sheet masks, especially if you ever have a galvanic machine. That’s what we use for the service and I want my own just so I can do it to myself at home haha, it really infuses the skin with all the serum so beautifully! Hope this helps ❤
It seems like a really great skincare brand! The only thing I'm struggling with is that there isn't a ton of educational resources and their products are pretty readily available for the average consumer. I am excited to test everything out personally though!

I can’t wait to watch all these esthi videos!!! Saturday is my last day in my esthetics program 😢 then for the month of July I’ll be in my makeup artistry class and graduate in August! Ugh my exams are coming up, praying for the best there lol! I’m so excited, I’ve been practicing makeup on my classmates during esthetics with my beginner MUA kit I built over the last couple years! Apparently I’m the only one who’s ever done that in my school. Love that you spoke about the laws and requirements varying from state to state, it’s so important to check your own state’s laws, that’s for sure! I originally hadn’t done so and thought I could do an online course and be okay. LOL. then I learned (after a few months of paying those losers my money) that I actually needed to be an esthi in my state to do makeup. So I had to go to Empire Beauty and getting into school was a pain, expensive af too but I’m finally almost through! So in NH there’s a weird makeup requirement even for the people who don’t take that class, it’s just for the state board practical where you end up doing terrible makeup on a mannequin. Instead of a mannequin, I mainly wanted to practice on my friends so that’s what I did for those counts, and it came out so well every time! I can’t wait to be able to say I’m an actual makeup artist, I’ve been working at this for over two years now! That’s actually when I first found you, through one of your MUA kit videos ❤ As glad as I am to almost be done, I’m definitely going to miss beauty school. Maybe not the mani pedis though 😂 I finished all my facials, waxing, brow and lash tint, chem peel etc counts last week! and I got certified in lash lifts which was an extra thing, not a requirement but I’m so excited. I feel like we’re on this journey together in a way ❤ so proud of you, love! It’s been a joy watching you grow over the past couple years I’ve followed you.
