    I'm torn of the Night Force two pack. I hate paying more for a two pack, than I would for two individual figures. However, I hesitated on the Nightforce RAM with Shockwave, and now that I've seen it in videos I'm kicking myself. I wasn't going to collect Nightforce since I couldn't get the Haslab Dragonfly. I didn't want to start a collection I didn't know if I'd be able to finish. But, that Falcon looks cool, and I'm a sucker for Steel Brigade. It's kind of weird they didn't pair her with the NF RAM, since the original Action Force version was packaged with their version of the RAM.

    I'm a sucker for Night Force. I was hoping that they'd put NF Sneak Peak in the pack with Falcon, like in the original line. I like that there's a new figure in the two pack, but she is basically NF Scarlet. Sneak Peak would have been drastically different from characters we already have. I'm still getting it though...in fact I was able to get mine off of Pulse. As far as the NF RAM, you know it's still up available right? In fact, it's on sale! You have to search Night Force Shockwave though, not Night Force RAM. www.walmart.com/ip/G-I-Joe-Classified-Series-127-Night-Force-Jason-Shockwave-Faria-Night-Pursuit-Cycle-6-Action-Figure-Walmart-Exclusive/5285700005?athbdg=L1102&from=/search

    I'll admit, these style of figures don't interest me at all, but setting that aside, from everything I've seen with these figures, I do not see this toyline surviving unless some serious changes are made. I have had two of the basic Doom troopers and Mad Dog in hand, and I was not impressed with any of those three examples. Everything from basic aesthetics to quality just seems, well... not up to standards. The bar has been set really high by other modern toylines, and it's going to be hard for this line to compete when they give off a "work in progress" vibe. I understand this is the first run, but first impressions are critical. Everything about these just scream random knockoff line from Dollar Tree. The creator of this line has so much passion and talent, and I really like his willingness to produce these in his home country. That being said, I just don't think these are the best representation of what he can do, nor do I believe his local factories are going to be able to produce the same quality of figures collector's are used to. At least, not for a while. With all of China's problems, they have been producing figures for long enough to have worked out most of the kinks. The basic figure construction does not radiate quality. Those shoulder joints look atrocious, like something from the mid 1990's. There is a lot of decent sculpting, but the paint looks cheap. I know the weapons are not supposed to be based on anything real, however they just have that, "something's not quite right" look about them. The silver dry brushing/wash/wear looks very sloppy, and really makes everything look even cheaper. The packaging is great, and I think it shows the level of quality the creator is wanting to achieve. Unfortunately, I think the toy factory is holding this line back. I don't know how to say this in a PC manner, so I'll just be blunt. That part of the world has spent too long making horrible bootleg toys, and I think that it's going to take a lot of work to reeducate them. I know this sounds really harsh, but I am truly being objective here. No matter how much I like the creator, or what he's trying to do, these figures are still $40 ($32 plus $8 shipping) each! That puts them in a bracket of higher scrutiny. If they were $15 dollar figures, I'd be a lot less critical, but they are not. They are the same price as Valaverse Action Force, and they are only a couple dollars cheaper than GI Joe Classified deluxe figures like Snow Job and Tripwire. A brand new, independent toy company can get by with higher prices, if they nail the presentation. Based on everything I've seen this line don't. At least not yet. I hope they can course correct. I really like the idea of another country seriously giving China some competition, and even if this line isn't my style of figures, it could always bring a lot of fresh ideas to the industry. As always, thanks for sharing your toys with us!

    I've always been a little open about the quality of things like sculpt when it comes to the indy companies. Not all of them are going to have the same quality. Even across the bigger names there is a marked difference in quality between Hasbro, Mattel, and McFarlane (so much so that I hesitated putting McFarlane with them). I genuinely liked the sculpt for the head of these two, especially Doom Sinner. But the paint apps and those hands, that was disappointing. Doom Sinner's paint wasn't bad at all, but Mad Dog had so many issues. I didn't know anything about the line or the creator when I ordered them. And I wouldn't say I have buyer's regret or anything, but they did make me cancel my orders for other figures I had for Invincible Toys. Their Futuristic Combat Soldier line. The guns don't bother me. But you are more of a RL enthusiast for them than I am, so I can see you look at them with a different eye. I just don't get how you package weapons with a figure when they can't even hold them? My biggest disappointment with Doom Sinner was the sniper rifle. That was one of the whole reasons I picked him up. The pop-n-swap gimmick they have, if you're going to make that a core part of your line then you need to have more options to swap things around. The more I thought about it after the video was recorded, the more I thought that it was a mistake for all the figures to have the same gear. They should have different kibble so you can swap between characters. Like I said at the end of the video, I'm not excited for Wave 2, if there even will be a Wave 2. And truthfully, I think this is it for me for this line.

    It’s not the 100th figure. It’s the 100th item. Lots of reuse for figures that are 5$ more than joes. And the weapons are not bendable because Vala is sold as 14 year olds + and Hasbro is 4 years olds plus. Big difference in the tolerance for an adult marketed toy and one marked for kids.

Honestly, I think that's why I'm so on the fence about Cobra-La. As a concept, I love them. They're modern monsters. As part of G.I.Joe lore, though? Naaah. I mean, even Serpentor is a modern Frankenstein's Monster. And I cannot explain how brightly the Forgotten King glows in the dark!

    Mine's out for delivery as I watch this. I have no interest in the bloody variant, so if I get that one it's going straight to Ebay. I've never been a scalper, but they're going for a good amount on there, and I could reinvest the money in other figures I want more. If I get the standard version, Ill be happy with it and keep it. I already know I'll hate the expressive face. They really should have included the standard head. It doesn't come with a whole lot of stuff, it's priced higher than a standard figure, and the originals have been out of production for a while. I also think the figure looks out of proportion. The vest really bulks the body up, but then the legs are unadorned. They really need a leg holster or Bowie knife or something to balance things out. I love the mask and back pack ammo can though. I think the whole "100th" is a little deceptive. It was definitely packaged to look like it's their 100th figure, but it's not, so I do keep coming back to the price and asking why the higher price tag? By the way, there were only 100 bloody variants made total. Edit: I didn't get the bloody variant either. Lol!

  • @BrickIntyre
    @BrickIntyre6 күн бұрын

    Yeah, the more I thought about it, the more I wondered why DIDN'T they include the standard head? At least then I could kind of see the upgrade in the price. As it stands right now the price hike is just the "this is our 100th figure with chase variant!" upgrade fee. And you're right, it's not the 100th figure, it's the 100 item. They were including all the gear packs that have been coming out as well. I wonder what made them rush that milestone?

    Hasbro did a disservice on the head sculpt of stalker. That to me is unforgivable. That Cobra commander is a must have. You know the only knock on cobra commander is additional weapons. Thank you for watching! I know Hasbro would say the vintage CC didn't have any weapons other than the hairdryer gun. And sure, that's true. But you still could have given him other things, not all the retro card figures are exactly what the vintage figures had. The scepter that the ThreeZero Commander came with would have been cool. Or a Mouser, like he used in the comic. Or even a helmet with the hatch pushed back showing off the C4. There were a lot of things they could have packed in there. BUT...that vac metal face plate is gonna be awesome.

    Like you, I don't actively collect Valaverse. I buy figures I like, or that I want to use with my Classified display. The one exception is The Swarm. I bought my first Swarm figure a couple months ago, and I'm hooked on them now. I don't really want the entire rainbow of colors, but I love the design. I'm building an army of Swarm Sentry troopers for my ground guys, and Swarm Tracers for my air troopers. With that said, I am stoked for the Swarm Locust. I love the design. I've always loved the ornithopter (?) from Dune, so that design is right up my alley. It's also small enough to work into my display. I like Trigger, but I'm not goo-goo over him. He's basically a knockoff Rock n Roll. I'll probably grab him though, since I like military looking figures. He'll make a good Delta operator. I like the special Pretorian too. It would look good with my Tracers. If that things ends up glowing in the dark, I'm going to grab several. I like the head packs, hand packs, and the backpack set. I know I'll get those. The Vanguard is too big for me to get. I also don't like the SUV look, I prefer the more military look of say the VAMP. The add-ons do make it look better. I do want to point out Vala's hypocrisy. He has attacked Gridiron several times, but now he's basically copying their style of products. I usually ignore his BS, but that was the first thing I thought of when I saw the add-on sets, and truthfully it soured my opinion on them. I have no interest in a pink vehicle! Lol! It's cool for everyone that likes it, but I can't stand pink, not due to anything mocho, I just hate pink. It looks like a Pepto Bismol company vehicle. I don't like Pandora, so neither of the new versions interest me. I also don't like bloodied up figures. I'm not squeamish, but having been a career law enforcement officer, I've seen enough blood to last me the rest of my life. I know it's a part of war, but I'm not really into it. I admittedly groaned when I saw his excitement for the statue. Lol! I've never had any inetrest in that kind of stuff. I pre-ordered the night ops Senshi. I'm going to swap his head out too. I think the makeup looks more like over-the-top drag queen makeup, than it does cool samurai makeup. I'm not sure how I feel about the flocked heads. I typically don't like cloth goods at this scale, and I kind of look at that in the same light. I'm just not sure how it would blend in with regular six inch figures. You know me, I'm excited for the weapons pack. The AK-74 with GP-5 grenade launcher, and the HK G3 rifle are the ones I like the most. Valaverse is really all over the place with the bad guys. I don't read comics, so maybe it makes sense in their comics, but from a toyline standpoint, it's like he creates an enemy and then abandons it for the next idea. Looking at the Swarm's filecards, even their leader's name is blackout. It's like he just comes up with a cool looking bad guy, and then he can't come up with a full background/story for them. Like I said, it may be explained in the comics. Overall, I think all of this really helps Wave 5, which was pretty lackluster when first revealed.

  • @BrickIntyre
    @BrickIntyre23 күн бұрын

    I didn't know he threw shade at Gridiron. They're both indie companies I figured they'd be trying to boost each other up. I only watch the videos like this one for the reveals, so I've never really heard him talk about much else. Other than Hasbro. He talks about Hasbro all the time. The Swarm figures are cool, I have one of them - the BotCon exclusive, I think he's called a Mantis Trooper - but my thing is that I have so much invested in Cobra Troopers & Officers that I don't want to sink into another army builder like that. Like I have 2 or 3 of each of the various Vipers and B.A.T.S., but the the Officers & Troopers are the ones that I really built out for my Cobra team. The Locust however, that thing is COOL! And I could see them adding something like that to the vintage line, replacing the Fang, flying support for the Mamba. If I army build anything from AF, it will probably be the Garrison Calvary. Sometimes I think they look cool...and other times I think they just look like they have a bucket on their head. LOL I think you nailed it about Senshi. It DOES look more like makeup than face paint. When the samurai would wear face paint, they typically had a white foundation that covered their entire face, so that it filled in the large blank spots between the colored war paint. Without that white foundation, the whole thing looks off. He should have added a white base to the face paint, OR actually given him an Oni mask and painted up the mask and horn attachments for his helmet. I get what they trying to do with Senshi, but it's not working. I don't read the comics either, which is probably why I don't know who the bad guys are either. I think there's something like 3 or 4 factions now? Action Force, the Swarm, the Garrison, and now, I think, the Crimson Shadows? And I feel like the only reason the Crimson Shadows were finally brought in was because of Fresh Monkey's Crimson Moon line. And man...if that translucent green Praetorian DOES glow in the dark...I may change my mind about picking one of those up!

Between the HISS, the Dragonfly coming, POSSIBLY the Rattler, plus the HMS and all the small pocket vehicles, there was just no more room for something like the Vanguard. I actually considered buying one and painting it Cobra blue. Using it as the Cobra version of the Beast and making it the Commander's transport.

    They did a great job with this one. I was a little concerned that the sculpted engine detail was going to look bad. The vintage one had a separate molded engine, and the first time I saw the new engine detail, it didn't look that good. However, after having one in hand, I realized it was just the bright silver washing out the detail on the videos. I was also surprised how solid and heavy the Ferret was. It feels like a solid toy. I don't much care for the cannon either, and I hope a 3rd party makes a vintage style one soon. I think the Scout should have come with the Valkyrie backpack and either the rifle or sub machine gun. That would give something to store on the rear rack, as well as give the Scout the gear needed to operate in a scouting role, away from the main Cobra forces. I gave the scout the black backpack and rifle from my Valkyries set, and it looks great. I agree about this vehicle size/price range. Hasbro should be taking advantage of that more than they are. I skipped the HISS and Dragonfly due to their size, but I have no problem with this size. I'd love a Cobra Night Landing with Eel, an Armadillo, a Devil Fish, or even the Recon Sled. Even the FANG could be made at this price range. My think that both the VAMP and Ferret will get a second release. I think having released the Stinger and Tiger Paw so soon, they had to limit the initial production so they could use the same tooling. I imagine they'll make more VAMPS and Ferrets once the initial release of the Stinger and Tiger Paw are out. I don't remember how soon they released the Python Patrol Flight Pod after the regular version, but the Stinger and Tiger Paw seemed a lot sooner.

  • @BrickIntyre
    @BrickIntyre23 күн бұрын

    A scout with no scouting gear...I didn't even think about that. I don't blame Hasbro for redesigning the side cannon, I get that they don't always want something to be a COMPLETE imitation of the 80s line. But then again, if something works, it works. And I'm not real big on the autocannon being on that small claw piece to use as hinge and swivel mount. It actually the only piece of the vehicle that doesn't seem to go with it. It looks cheap. And man, I would LOVE if they did the Cobra Night Landing. I would buy a few of those and it would probably be one of the few times I'd do a complete re-paint and give a couple of them to the Joes.

    Great review. I like mine but I agree with you about the missiles. I would want to change the gun also but not to the long vintage version. My guess (I have no info, just guessing) is that with the vamp and this ferret, they rushed to use the molds for the stinger and tiger paw too soon. I suspect they will do a second run for both after the stinger and tiger paw are done. I also agree with you about the space for 1:12 vehicles. There are a lot of choices coming and not enough space.

That being said, I really like the Stinger, so although I'm pretty sure I'll end up cancelling, I did pre-order one just in case I can figure out a way to make it work. I could always sell it later if it doesn't work out. Cobra La is outside my wheelhouse as far as Classified goes. I have the vintage figures, but I'm more forgiving when it comes to my vintage collection. With Classified, I'm only collecting things things I like, so no Serpentor, no Mind Bender, and no Cobra La. Although, it looks like they did an excellent job on the Nemesis Enforcer figure. I may not be a fan of him in GI Joe, but like you suggested, I could see him fitting in well with other toy lines. My youngest son has MM Barbecue, and now he's wanting the new MM figures. He loves all of the sub teams I don't like, which is cool because it allows me to at least see those figures in hand. He really wants the Sgt. Slaughter and Spirit. My Ferret was delivered about 30 minutes ago! I'm really digging the Ferret Scout figure. I'm look forward to hearing your take on the set. I think you and I got our Ferrets at about the same time. I have mixed feelings on Cobra-La. When I was a kid, I liked them. I have a thing for movie monsters and to me that's what Cobra-La was. And the way they were represented in the Movie, as an isolated moment, I loved the attack on Cobra-La, and Burgess Meredith's voice for Golobulus was fantastic. In my head cannon though, I never associated the two together, there was Cobra and then there was Cobra-La. Separate entities. I pictured that they were able to send out these chitinous parasites that clung to people and converted them into the royal guard creatures, kinda like the Flood in Halo. Like I said, big monster fan. Using Cobra-La and the cartoon origins of Cobra in the new comics for the Energon Universe is pretty much the point where Skybound lost me with the new titles. I am legit curious how much longer this 1/12 vehicle fad is going to last. Eventually enough people are going to have either too much money or too much shelf space invested in these and interest will wane. We saw it happen a few years ago with Star Wars. I was at RetroCon last year and a vendor was selling a Black Series TIE Fighter for $30. When I asked him what was wrong with it, he said there was nothing wrong with it. He was just trying to get rid of it. No one was buying because of how big it was.

    Helix was a completely new character for me. She was created well after I had left GI Joe, and well before I decided to start an adult collection. I recognized her from when my son was into the modern 4 inch figures, but I knew nothing about her. When she was released in Classified, I was not initially impressed. To be honest, I thought her abilities as a savant made her a bit too super hero like for GI Joe. Almost too perfect of a character. However, the more I looked at the figure, the more it grew on me. I finally picked her up, and I'm glad I did. I really like the figure. I still ignore her abilities, and I think of her as just a highly trained CIA/ISA (Intelligence Support Activity) type government assassin. I can't stand those mantis blades. They are a cool comic book style weapon, but it reality they end up looking like polio crutches. It's odd for me to like a "new" figure as much as I do her, but that's happened several times now with the Classified line. Wolf Spider, Shooter, even the Mole Rats. I'm not opposed to new/newer characters in this line, and the GI Joe team seem to have done a good job with the ones they've introduced. I do like a lot of her backstory. She's also one of the only female figures I still routinely mess with. I'm constantly changing her pose or switching up her weapons. She's just a fun figure. I will add, Helix was the first figure I actually had concerns about the QC. I heard about a lot of QC issues with her, but luckily mine was perfect.

  • @BrickIntyre
    @BrickIntyreАй бұрын

    I don't know if you read the ARAH comic, but in the last few issues with Helix being used so prominently, they kind of downplayed the whole big brain doing calculations on the fly thing. They seemed to reference the training her mother gave her and just made it out that she has really good battlefield awareness and doesn't get target fixation. Her, Scarlett, Lady Jay, and Jinx tearing through the Cobra Cassino on Cobra Island was pretty awesome.

Him, Lee, and Clairmont. And I get that his style may not be everyone's, but you can't deny that you can look at an image, look at something like X-Force 1 and just know that's Liefeld. Just like you could with all the Image founders back in the day. In 2018 he said he hadn't owned the rights to Youngblood for "several years". I don't think he's ever given an exact date, but I'm guessing it was around 2004/2005.

    These might be the best 1/12 weapons on the market in terms of price and quality. Only issue I have with them is the pegs for the attachments. I just krazy glued the laser and sight on mine. The Glue didn't help the foregrip at all but I glued a M203 Launcher I cut off a Marvel Legends AR and glued it on and it's still on there to this day. I wish Mauraders would make more 1/12 weapons because I think they are great, they just need to make a few tweaks.

    Oh, if I get Monster Force in hand and they're not good, I will definitely be basing my decision to keep my pre-orders for Crimson Moon up based on that! But...they are big, beefy Santas, so that has an affect on them too. I'm HOPING we're going to be getting something from Monster Force soon. Even if it's just Van Helsing, just something to get an idea of what the line will be like. I do have to admit that my love of classic monsters (vampires, werewolves, mummies, etc.) played a large part in me just jumping in on ordering the Crimson Moon line.

  • @johnlogan9427
    @johnlogan9427Ай бұрын

    Like you, I'm not a big Action Force collector. Honestly, most of the ones I have, I bought because they complimented my Classified display. I understand where AF fans would be wanting new named characters, and a different look, but this wave doesn't do much for me. None of them are bad figures, but take away the gear, and they've lost that uniform military look that I liked most about the line. Without their gear, Atlas and Col. Siege look like some guys from Montana mending a fence row. I do like the new trooper, Sidewinder, and the BAT knockoff. I also love the chest rig in the new gear pack. I liked the plate carriers, but I'm a sucker for a lightweight chest rig in real life, so I can't wait to pick up a few of them. I'm not impressed at all with the weapons pack. That modern BAR is another goofy novelty gun in the real world, and the flame thrower and the Chiapa Rhino revolvers outright suck. I do like the FNX semi auto pistol. It's one of my favorite handguns. I know I'm in the minority concerning my opinion on the new figure wave, and I'm sure the constant reuse was getting old to Valaverse fans. The Crimson moon figures look great, but they're a little too obscure for me to collect. I only collect GI Joe, aside from a few Valaverse figures. I know they look like the vintage Action Force figures, but they're just not my thing. As always, great video!

    "Without their gear, Atlas and Col. Siege look like some guys from Montana mending a fence row." - Oh my God they do. Like action figure renditions of Earl and Valentine from "Tremors". I'm the same way with AF, I pick up figures that I can fenagle into the Classified line, whether I have to make something up or not. Like Warpath Eclipse. I love that figure and was easy enough to say that she's part of Nightforce. The Praetorian androids fit in well enough as Serpentor's guard. And Pandora works with the Dreadnoks. Even the first figures I bought from AF, Sgt. Slaughter and the original Steel Brigade figure; I got those when I backed the initial Kickstarter. It was the early days of Classified and I wasn't sure if Hasbro would make a new deal with Sarge or think about the Steel Brigade/Steel Corps, so I got those to supplement Classified. Now, both of them have pretty much been binned. I did not realize that was a BAR. I just looked it up when you mentioned that, I thought it was supposed to be a sniper or precision rifle. The "flame thrower" I just kinda shrug on. It's obviously based off the Boring Company "flame thrower" that is so not a flame thrower...but AF takes place in the near future, and there's some scifi elements to the Joes, so I'm just kinda "meh" on that whole thing. I was under the impression that AF fans LIKE the uniform army builders in the line. That's one reason I didn't pick up too many figures. While I'll army build factions like Cobra and the Iron Grenadiers, the Joes I'm not too big on doing that. I don't like the idea of the Green Shirts, like in the cartoon. I always pictured the Joe team being hand-picked individuals that made up the team. Specialists and the best of their type. More like the comic origins. That's why I get more interested in a wave like this that has the new characters. Now that you mention it though, it IS kind of odd that the line has all those army building troops...and then the named characters, presumably the leaders, are just wearing jeans and a t-shirt.

    The SAW Viper looks great in the render, but I agree, that weapon is goofy. I'm excited for Footloose, I'd love to see an old school infantry figure wearing woodland camo BDU's and ALICE gear. Alpine looks great, but they really dropped the ball on his equipment. I loved the vintage figures backpack because it could store all of his gear. I'm not sure what they were thinking leaving that out. I fully expected the Alley Viper grappling launcher. I've seen a lot of folks griping about his head sculpt, but I think it looks good, especially with his hat and glasses on. Storm Shadow is good not great. He's too bulky looking, and I the hood is too form fitting to the head. The promo shots made him look a lot better than he did in the initial leaked images. The Iron Grenadier is too gaudy. I know GI Joe has a lot of over-the-top designs, but from just a uniform standpoint, they tried to do too much. Instead of having a classy looking formal uniform like the Crimson Guard, it comes off looking like some tacky made up uniform a 3rd world dictator would wear. And that darn double barrel AR! They need to burn that mold beyond recognition, and fire whoever created it! The saving grace was his ability to parts swap with the BATs. I really liked that look. I'm picking one up to use as an Iron Grenadiers BAT commander, with hopes we will get a retro Iron Grenadier later on. The IG BAT is a lazy repaint, but I love it. I guess I'm just a sucker for BAT's. I ordered a couple so I could use the clear chest plate on my original BAT, and use the classic BAT head with red face plate to give one of my classic BATs the Sunbow cartoon look. Retro Stalker was an unexpected bit of awesomeness! I will be replacing my Classified Stalker with him. Did he have a camo beret in the cartoon? Maybe? Although it wasn't shown, they mentioned he came with a scarf, so I 'm pretty sure they were talking about that shemagh the first Classified Stalker came with. The Cobra Trooper is a must have, but I'll be picking up a Dragonov for him. I really hope the blue isn't too bright compared to the older figures. Cobra Commander. My god I love him so much! My favorite figure from the ARAH line is the 82-83 Cobra Commander. I like the hooded version, but not as much. This figure is everything I was hoping for. Once I have him in hand, I will be able to die a happy man. Lol! I don't like or collect the Marauder figures, so I won't comment much on those. I will say I hope Spirit doesn't have a Navajo headband, because he was a Pueblo Indian. I did want the ditty bag from the Sarge, so I made my own. Good thing my mom taught me how to sew. Lol! The Stinger looks great, but I doubt I'll be able to pick it up. I just don't have enough space to collect the 1:12 vehicles. I'd love to have it, but I'm afraid the VAMP will be my only Classified vehicle. I do have the Ferret coming, and I have the RAM and Trouble Bubble. I can work smaller vehicles onto my shelves a little easier. I think they stopped making the VAMP too early, so they could switch over to making the Stinger. Most of the tooling would be the same. I imagine they'll make more VAMPS after the initial run of the Stinger. At least I hope they do since a lot of folks missed out on it. I ordered all four that have been released for pre-order. I'll order Cobra Commander, a couple Troopers, and Stalker. I hope IG Destro is the PulseCon exclusive too! They've rumored Raptor or Starduster, but those would be pretty lame compared to Destro. I could care less about the Once a Man CC. I like to pretend that never happened. Lol!

    I have been jazzed about the SAW Viper since they did the name only reveal. But when I saw that weapon I just thought, "someone's been playing too much Gears of War." If the chainsaw can be removed it may not be too bad, but right now it looks like something the Dreadnoks would use. I honestly feel the same way about Storm Shadow. I really liked that version when I was a kid, but this one they armored too much. I feel like the whole theme of much of this Fantstream was "excess". I gotta admit...the Iron Grenadiers and BATs being gaudy is kinda why I love 'em! This is what I meant when I was talking about Footloose and wanting figures that really jump out at you. And those BATs painted gold...you're not gonna miss them! The Retro line I'm pretty luke warm on. Don't get me wrong, I'll get them, but I didn't have an issue with the Classified Stalker, I kinda like the darker camo. Like I said, if they would have included a camera with him, that would have actually fired me up a little more for him! As for the Cobra Troopers...all things being equal, I would be all over those. But, since the Cobra Officers have come out, I've been building those out as my Cobra infantry. So at this point the Retro Troops are too little/too late for me. I do think they did a really good job on them though, considering their using a buck from allllllll the way back in Wave 1! Cobra Commander I'm honestly excited about just because I think the vac-metal faceplate looks REALLY cool! I'm one of the few that actually likes the Classified Commander! 😂 I'll still get him, but I don't know if he'll be my shelf Commander or not. I didn't have the chat turned on while I was watching the Fanstream, but I'm betting there were a lot of upset people about the lack of a hood. Since there were hints that something "special" was going to be revealed about the Commander's head sculpt, I think everyone thought it was going to be the hood and not the vac metal. For me, while it would have been cool, I don't think I was really expecting it. Man I really want a black hood for my Snake Supreme Commander though. The black coloring and gold accents, it just strikes me as something from issue 33 of the Marvel run. When I was a kid, I thought Tiger Force was cool. I REALLY liked Python Patrol! But by the time they got to Sky Patrol and the Marauders, even I, as a kid, realized how lazy the line was becoming! LOL So I never got into the Marauders either. I keep hoping for the Renegades. During the Fanstream when they were talking about Slaughter getting tough with Falcon I was sitting here talking to myself saying, "that was the Renegades...that was the Renegades...that wasn't the Marauders..." I didn't know that about Spirit though! I didn't have him as a kid, so I didn't read his file card. I never knew he Pueblo. Thaaaaat seems like a big miss now... I agree with you 100% on the Stinger. I looks really cool, but...money and space. I'm genuinely surprised by how many I know that skipped the HMS because of space. I've been wondering how long the one:12 vehicle craze has been going to last. I was so uninterested by the announcement of Raptor and Starduster that I completely forgot they were on their way! LOL
