The "super dry start" is still easier to keep attention to than some classes I've attended... e.g. a teacher probably spent twice as much time saying "ah" or thinking what to say than actually saying something... sadly

The joke is that the proffesor started with a dry opening that was very monotone that is common among teachers who really hate their job, and made a "hey fellow kids" video that boomers would make, but he did it ironically to subvert the expectations of his students by showing he isn't an out of touch, boring teacher
