It’s about keeping the eight fingers and two thumbs we were each born with while undertaking our latest property rehab project.
It’s about building and renovating using wood from our own logs, sawn with our own mill, while maintaining, everything from fence lines to feeding stations, animal shelters, shallow wells, and everything else.
This is where you’ll hear about our adventures with everything from chainsaws to nail guns. Its about what works and what doesn't with GRK screws, or how to put a track back on a mini-excavator, do a bridge rebuild, and why we prefer truck and camper over a motorhome or travel trailer.

My old toro wheel horse used to zip around and over time it got slower and slower until a few years later i slapped it on my crane an looked under meath and sure enough because i skipped out on maintenance it was full of dirt and the pedal had minimal movement

20 hours and it got jammed up. Seems like a bad design to have that exposed
I lost drive to one wheel on my Toro zturn. The handle still moved but the wheel didn't react. Upon inspection I found that a stick came up under the mower and pushed the small lever on the wheel motor, that's the hydraulic bypass that allows the wheel to spin freely incase you need to tow the machine. Emotional roller coaster, perplexed, what's happened?, amazed, a stick did this, satisfied, i now know more about my machine. Happy mowing.

Even worse - the news that they're exporting manufacturing to Mexico and laid off 1,000 workers while turning record profits. My dad always used to say "don't bite the hand that feeds you". What JD is currently doing really bites!
