    Thanks for reaching out. The ArmorATD isn’t a SSD, so read and write speed are not important here. It’s a traditional hard drive with the intention to deliver cheap space for the money without compromises when it comes to security features. Thanks for your feedback though, it’s always appreciated!

    What you think of their new Armorlock external SSD? Gimmick or useful?

  • @ChrisMartinScholl
    @ChrisMartinScholl2 жыл бұрын

    Definitely no gimmick I'd say. Just imagine you have to deal a lot with commecrial projects where you need to capture footage or images before the actual release of a final product. Often you need to ship hard drives to a client or from set to the color graders and so on. So you really want to make sure nobody gets access to the content other than people who are really involved. Hope that helps.

    Are some pictures you made are from Praia Arrifana? I will bring my R5 to Aljezur first time in September this Year and try to make some surf photos with the R5 and my sigma 150 600 sports.

  • @ChrisMartinScholl

    Hi Andreas, yes absolutely! The scenes where I shoot the surfers walking on the beach are from Praia Arrifana as well as some shots of the Surfers riding waves in the water! You'll love the Aljezur area, especially with bringing such a capable camera like your R5! And your SIGMA 150-600 will just be perfect to shoot some surf action! Personally, I only brought my trusty Canon EF 70-200 2.8L, which sometimes wasn't enough in terms of reach but thankfully the newly designed sensor of the R5 allows for some decent cropping! Have fun out there and thanks for reaching out!

    Nice work! What zippered storage cube are you using? I see one at 58sec kzread.info/dash/bejne/aqKjr85uoZDZlrg.html and have been looking for a minimal backpack cube insert to carry my Mamiya 7, looks like this one can hold the camera and a few rolls of film.

  • @ChrisMartinScholl
    @ChrisMartinScholl2 жыл бұрын

    Hey Mikkel, thanks for getting in touch! Yeah this cube can hold quote a lot actually, even the Mamiya 7 and Leica M6 at the same time. Unfortunately I have mine for many years already, so I can't really say where to get it. But I do remember that I bought it from Amazon and that it was really cheap! So you might just have a look over there. It was one of the more basic and cheaper options to get there.

    Really inspiring video. How noisy is the g-raid shuttle and can you turn it off when you are recording in the studio or is it designed to be running all the time?

  • @ChrisMartinScholl
    @ChrisMartinScholl2 жыл бұрын

    Sorry for the late reply! The G-Raid is actually pretty alright when it comes to the noise levels. You hear the fan running and the drives rattle like you might know from NAS devices as well. It never really bothered me so far and recording never was an issue for me personally. I do love the G-Raid and use mine for a couple of years already. Great performance and reliability for sure! Hope that helps! :)

    @@ChrisMartinScholl thanks that’s reassuring. Are these things supposed to be running 24/7 as both for noise and with energy conservation to consider it would be good to have the on-off option but obviously not if it risks file corruption etc?

  • @ChrisMartinScholl
    @ChrisMartinScholl2 жыл бұрын

    You can let them run 24/7 without a problem but you can also switch them on and off like you wish! I don’t have mine running all the time. I switch it on during working hours and switch it off afterwards. There’s a button on the back for that or you can unmount from your computer and pull the thunderbolt cable. Both is fine 👌🏼 these are not attached to any network so I don’t see a lot of reason keeping it running 24/7 anyways!

    Welches ist dein Lieblingssystem? Digitales Vollformat, Kleinbild Film, oder Analoges Mittelformat? Which is your favorite system? Digital full format, 35mm film or analogue medium format?

  • @ChrisMartinScholl
    @ChrisMartinScholl2 жыл бұрын

    Hi Thorsten! Das kann ich so pauschal gar nicht beantworten! Ich mag das digitale Vollformat insbesondere für meine berufliche Fotografie und immer dann wenn ich absolute Sicherheit brauche. Das analoge Kleinbild ist toll für private Momente und Reisen auf denen ich einfach entspannen und ein wenig dokumentieren möchte. Das analoge Mittelformat hingegen ist wie ich finde eine Klasse für sich und da bin ich noch recht neu unterwegs. Ich bin aber absolut begeistert hiervon und sehe viel Potential hier mehr auszuprobieren. Mit was bist du denn so am liebsten unterwegs und warum? Beste Grüße, Chris!

    @@ChrisMartinScholl Ich fotografiere digital mit meiner Canon 90d oder auch mal mit meinem Smartpone. Analog habe ich eine EOS100 bei eBay geschossen. Ich habe noch eine Minolta 7000 mit 2 Kit-objektiven geschenkt bekommen. Stand 20 Jahre im Schrank. Was ich am krassesten finde ist der enorme Überbelichtungsspielraum. So viel Headroom in den Lichtern wünsche ich mir digital. Analoges Mittelformat finde ich noch zu groß für mich. Mit KB-Film muss ich erst mal lernen. Digitale Fotografie ist sicher. Analog ist mit unter Glücksspiel. Ich kann mir Vorstellen, das du vom Kopf her eine Trennung brauchst. Kleinbild mit Leica für privat. Canon VF beruflich. Und MF auch privat. Da kann man sich zwei getrennte Fototaschen anlegen. Es Fühlt ist sicher an, wenn ich weiß in meinem Canon Rucksack habe ich alles drin, was ich bei der Arbeit brauche, und muss nichts zurück packen. Eine Tasche für Leica Ausrüstung = Hobby. Alles sauber getrennt.
