The barrels just catch fire, I never had them actually explode before, I didn't know you could explode them to be completely honest lol as for the crates I don't think so.

My pc always raises my room temperature by a few degrees, too. Gets hot in the summer. Also hilarious that ED209's weakness was a box. That boss looked ridiculously overpowered.

I did finish Hard mode today and boy was it fun. Now all we need is the Story DLC and NG+ and I will attempt Nightmare mode When it's available as well.
