I have had a diagnosis and it was indeed classified as a mental disorder.i have no idea what to do I have no financial support off centerlink I was taking small amounts of vallium to disperse symptoms which I did discover myself and was able to carry one tablet with me just in case it started while I was out just incase.my neurologist has now refused me this I have had to cease any idea of going back to work which has left me in financial ruin as I'm a barber.it was dismissed as a mental health disorder I feel these diagnoses make your mental heath worse as you want a right as a human being to work and make a life for yourself.i am not eligible for disability jobs as I am denied centerlink more awareness needs to be raised about this condition.

This should not be on a mental health. Chronic pain is physical juggle with every day and I’m so sick of doctors and medical professionals identifying it with mental health or illness.

I was recently diagnosed with FND and the specialists basically told me 'good luck' and discharged me from their care with no direction in terms of support or rehabilitation - which I've come to understand is a common experience for those with the same diagnosis. Will check the website out. Thanks again.

At Grow New Zealand Auckland , in very recent times I have been sworn at, belittled mocked and ridiculed, so will you if you attend a Grow meeting in Auckland. Your safety both emotional and physical can’t be guaranteed. I have been called a predator amongst other things. Someone from Grow rang my work anonymously to say as much. I was verbally trespassed from Grow by the accountant who had no authority to do so, he is an employee, not a Grow member or officially on any type of Management team. All this was done without a shred of evidence or fact, that I had done anything wrong. There was absolutely no truth behind any accusations against me, it was simply to destroy and humiliate me until my situation in Grow became intolerable and untenable. I felt suicidal for the first time in a very long time with some of the more extreme accusations, I have felt depressed since, more so when promised investigations into who called me these offensive names was not actioned. Rather than helping me made me fell far worse. Thanks for nothing. Over forty people attended St Lukes group from February 2018 to November 2018. Thirty-one of these people upon follow up advised they would not be becoming back to a meeting because they felt unsafe. This was reported to Management (National Management Team) and nothing was done. When one person (not myself) was about to lodge a complaint with the Health and Disability Commissioner, it was requested by the Management team that it be withdrawn, as it would be handled internally. It has been 12 weeks (At time of writing) and nothing has been done other than to the person (complained against) being suspended for a fortnight (called stress leave) but it does not address the underlying problems Grow New Zealand lost all District Health board funding as it refused to action accountability reports for the funding , showing any progress that its members were achieving . Grow New Zealand is down to less than 50 members who regularly attend a meeting spread throughout 8 groups Nation wide
GROW promotes a non-judgmental and caring approach and where necessary healthy boundary setting. These boundaries must be respected for that person to feel comfortable in themselves and to have a continued relationship with GROW. Part of the GROW program is learning how to be an ordinary human being - having love, respect and affection for others. We are sorry that David did not feel this as part of GROW's program.
