This is home for all my videos, amateur or otherwise. The main function of this channel is to promote my views concerning The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the LDS Church, or the Mormons). The bulk of my videos will be about Shawn McCraney as I attempt to debunk all his claims that miss the mark concerning the Church. I try not to slam the work he is doing for those not comfortable with Mormonism, I only dedicate myself to correcting the misconceptions and misunderstandings of Mormonism that Shawn puts out.

    From one old man to another: The whole Book of Mormon is fiction. There never were any gold plates, no one has seen them. Smith's invention of Reformed Egyptian letters on the "plates" were just nonsense as proved by Smith's "translation" of the Book of Abraham.

    Also, regarding plain and precious truths missing from the Bible, consider the statements in the Book of Mormon regarding the notion of little children being under condemnation due to "original sin". The Book of Mormon condemns this notion, while many "christian" denominations teach that little ones that die without baptism are lost, sent to hell! The Bible does not really clarify the matter, but the Book of Mormon does! And it's a very fundamental and critical issue.... our inherent sense of what's right suggests to us that a just God would not condemn a baby unable to take such actions on its own - that such a little one would merit eternal damnation when it is helpless to do anything to attempt to comply is a revolting concept, yet only in the Book of Mormon is this declared authoritatively! I suspect that in the times of Christ and of His apostles, confusion regarding the subject had not yet arisen there in the old world, and therefore no one thought to offer any clarification (just my supposition). Probably none of them had any question nor doubt on the matter. In any case, regardless of whether my supposition is right in that regard, the Book of Mormon rightly condemns the concept of our little ones being under condemnation due to "original sin" as being an abomination before the Lord, but the Bible leaves us to wrestle with the matter by trying to assess indirect statements and play justice and mercy against each other, and the matter is obviously not adequately clear or we wouldn't have so many denominations arriving at the conclusion that babies dying without baptism go to hell!

    My dear brother, I would not quibble with you about how the bible, having been written in greek and other ancient languages, that the translations of such to english may be some what deficient. Instead I would ask where are your ancient manuscripts of the Book of Mormon? Where as the Bible has thousands of kept segments of ancient manuscripts that can be examined and read and can be used to compare and reconstruct the entire bible. Where dear brother is your prof of the book of Mormon? There is no ancient manuscript, you can not pull out fragments of manuscript like you can with the old and new testament. It does not exist, there is not a house for it like with the dead sea scrolls. just the word of your founder who translated these works himself and then poof! they no longer exist. consider my words, pray to the Holy Spirit for guidance, use reason and you will see I write truth. "Gal 1:8 "But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach [to you] a gospel other than the one that we preached to you, let that one be accursed!"" @ut4cre67, This verse includes Paul, himself, in the warning. It's not about who delivers the messages it's about the subject of the preaching. So if Moroni is to be cursed, then by what the verse says, Paul should also not be trusted. But Paul is saying nobody should preach a different gospel. Moroni brought the same gospel Jesus taught. Yes, there was the Old Testament writings all around when Jesus preached. But they crucified Him anyway, because physical evidence wasn't the issue. Just like we don't have pieces of the original Book of Mormon, Jesus taught new doctrine without offering pieces of evidence for it. The main issue is faith. Just as faith was needed in Jesus's time, faith is needed for the Book of Mormon in our time.

    I'm curious also to mention to you there's this new movie coming out called, "Heretic'. Its an anti-LDS film with Hugh Grant. And in the movie he traps and tries to hurt sister missionaries in some kind of torture dungeon. I'm very surprised they could be open about this and allow this in a 'modern society' with such evil. And if this were any other minority or other group that would never be allowed. Yet somehow it is now. This and many other things, it looks like persecution is possible to occur again. I hope it does not.

  • @noahriding5780
    @noahriding578013 күн бұрын

    I've noticed there are MANY, MANY anti-LDS or other kinds of videos attacking the church, attacking it through polygamy and other mischief coming out recently. In the past 2 years its like its taking off like crazy. Many people are jumping in on it. And even many members are falling for it. Or they do videos to attack polygamy while being in the church (which makes no sense and acts like Trojan Horse nonsense). I'd also noticed that much of the persecution started in the 1800s was caused by people who left the church with hatred/dissenters/apostates. This means people doing harmful videos... I don't think they realize there's not a lot of brakes on that train. meaning, they think they can go after 1 thing and control it stopping in time to not go after other things; and this is a grave mistake they are falling into. And people doing harm now might not realize they can stop the train without it later causing a lot of harm to the innocent. ... This is why videos like yours, that are more spiritually minded and trying to not be showy but focus on truth; there's a real need for this. Many people are hearing point of views that take the gospel lightly. You can be like a counter against that. And hopefully people see that. ... Also, I found it interesting that you mentioned David stealing another man's wives. What's interesting about this is that most Americans and others actually aren't monogamous. They have secret affairs with people they work with. They do a lot of things under the table unseen such that they aren't in any way monogamous. And yet they want to persecute other people that are being more honest than them? They don't like the idea of chastity either. Like for example, you've noted that we don't encourage women to work outside the home in LDS church. Everybody notices this in LDS culture. Its certain that much of this is because of wife stealing, and immorality among the 'Babylonian culture'. Its not actually safe to let your wife go to work without having guys try to flirt with her or try to do things with her. And yet they want to go after the church for polygamy, when adultery and their version of immorality is worse than polygamy... ... There is also a difference in the spirituality in the home. And I think there is even basis to say that the spirituality of the parents influence what kinds of children will be born to them. Plus, the fact that the number of people that want to be innocent and live a Celestial level of laws is always less than those from a Telestial environment. So it would make sense to have more people who are Celestial form families together, instead of those that are of the 'congregations of the wicked'. ... It also appears that there's not really any point to trying to cater to the whims of the world. Despite not having practiced polygamy for over a hundred years, they still teach their children and grandchildren to hate mormons. They will never stop this. And yet trying to be friends with them by toning down what we think or talk about doesn't actually help. In fact, it seems to encourage them to think that they can pressure us and push us down. They don't respect us more. They also teach that we aren't Christians, which is a false idea. And the end result of this is that if you can single someone out by doing so, they hope to be able to go after us someday. or this is what you'd do if you wanted to create an opening for someone to exploit with hate. So there's not really any point to trying to please the world. I hope this supports what you said.

    Sounds like you don't understand the Bible very well. The Bible is a compilation of holy books written by many prophets apostles and disciples. The Catholic church just before 400 AD. I'd venture a guess you're not a catholic. The canonical grouping to say there can be no more scripture is pretty clearly uninspired. Even the book of Revelation was written notably before other included books in the new testament chronologically. The Book of Mormon respects the writers of the Bible and the books individually. If you understand the book of Mormon it also explains what happens after the apostles died and that pretty quickly the church goes off the rails. How would it not when the epistles were all basically trying to keep the constantly straying flock in line and they were still around even?

    Because you mention Midian... I have often wondered what became of the Midianites in their records. We read that Moses married a daughter of a Midianite priesthood leader. But then there's almost nothing known until later when suddenly the Midianites were raiding Israel many years later but before the captivity and exile. I would think they and others would have records. ... I had also heard an idea that some people found similarities between the hats of great lakes tribes with the clothes and hats worn by nomadic tribes in the middle east. Others reached a similar conclusion that you did; although your list has many many more bullet points than others. So its interesting. You've done a lot of homework on this. The other person that had the same idea as you didn't have any of your bullet points except the clothes and hats of Great Lakes tribes. But I forgot where I heard that from. ... One of the native American traditions is that in the last days the eagles will join the condors again. This idea represents basically what you are proposing of how civilization would get a restart with Lehi's settled family with technology marrying a family of those with more survival skills etc. And this example is in the scriptures a lot; Moses marrying the daughter of Jethro, Joseph marrying some other group also. Its possible this may be a theme to restart civilization at the beginning of the Millennium also(?)

    I'm not sure if people are understanding the scrip or what they read, but Nephi and his brethren married the daughters of Ishmael and not Aribs. Ishmael was of the House of Israel and he might have been from the tribe of Ephraim for we know Lehi was from the tribe of Mannesh, and the Mulekites were of Judah, for Mulek was the son of Zedekiah who was king of Jerusalem at that time. Alma 10:3 "And Aminadi was a descendant of Nephi, who was the son of Lehi, who came out of the land of Jerusalem, who was a descendant of Manasseh, who was the son of Joseph who was sold into Egypt by the hands of his brethren." Here is the scripture pertaining to the sons oh Lehi marriage to the daughters of Ishmael. 1Nephi 16:7 "And it came to pass that I, Nephi, took one of the daughters of Ishmael to wife; and also, my brethren took of the daughters of Ishmael to wife; and also Zoram took the eldest daughter of Ishmael to wife." Jethro, Moses father in law was a descendant of Abraham, for the Midianites are from ABRAHAM wife Keturah whom he married after the death of Sarah and that's also why Jethro held the priesthood of God. Gen 25:1-2 "1 Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah. 2 And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and MIDIAN , and Ishbak, and Shuah." Moses, Joseph and others married their kindred, so that their descendents could have right to the priesthood, because there was a line from Ham which was cursed pertaining to holding and administering in the priesthood for a time which would be given unto them during the days of restoration. Abraham 1:21-27 "21 Now this king of Egypt was a descendant from the loins of Ham, and was a partaker of the blood of the Canaanites by birth.... Now the first government of Egypt was established by Pharaoh, the eldest son of Egyptus, the daughter of Ham, and it was after the manner of the government of Ham, which was patriarchal. 26 Pharaoh, being a righteous man, established his kingdom and judged his people wisely and justly all his days, seeking earnestly to imitate that order established by the fathers in the first generations, in the days of the first patriarchal reign, even in the reign of Adam, and also of Noah, his father, who blessed him with the blessings of the earth, and with the blessings of wisdom, but CURSED HIM AS PERTAINING TO THE PRIESTHOOD. 27 Now, Pharaoh being of that lineage by which he COULD NOT HAVE THE RIGHT OF PRIESTHOOD,... " I follow and seek understanding from the scriptures for I know they are true. Let's not go off into speculation but allow the text to speak and the Holy Ghost to bear witness of the truth. 🙏🏽❤️

    When I study Zion, I'm surprised to learn that we aren't quite there yet. I used to think we were there already. But we have problems with social class ranking, and social class warfare, and pride. Also people who lived Zion were of 1 heart and mind. And there were NO POOR among them, and they built and had things in common. We don't do that. Also when you read the D&C people aren't doing all the things in there about caring for each other. And not all the things listed about the bishops storehouse are there yet. Its possible when things are more equal and with everyone on the same page that eventually the Bishops storehouse would be universally used for all saints and not only the needy, and that eventually when we think about going to say Walmart or Target that eventually in the Milenium that would be going to the bishops storehouse instead. And that everyone would use it. And its possible we'd be going to drop stuff off also and not only to take things out. 1 thing I was surprised on also, is if you have a lot of farm produce and want to give it to the church they won't take it right now. I don't understand this. I had a ton of honey and farm produce last year and asked if the Bishops Storehouse would take it and they said they wouldn't and didn't. Partly because of lawyer mongering is what seems to have caused this... At any rate this comment is not negative but meant to be proactive. Its reasonable that there's still things for us to do to get there.
