As a very person with filipino blood making up almost half of my dna i really wish i wasnt so detached from from the culture growing up with zero filipino culture around kind of stirs thougths in the head about being a mixed kid. being around all the white people and friends they all knew me as asian or filipino but to filipinos im seen as an outcast in ways cause im too "white washed" and its honestly a sad feeling. I hope to one day get to experience my heritage and find out who i truely am and where i come from. you and your mother made me so happy within the first few minutes i cudnt help but cry alongside you and everyone else, pure happiness and positive energy i hope i can one day speak this beautiful language and finally feel more accepted by the people who i share blood with. this video is a big inspiration i hope to be able to follow in your footsteps and make someone happy by learning their language.

While I admire your open-mindedness, there's something I can't help but laugh about - "it's not that companies are inherently evil". Uh... I don't think that a non-human entity can be evil by definition. These are considered separate legal entities, which - if you changed it into the context of a car - it's like saying "this motor vehicle, that's being driven by the CEO and management more generally, crashed into a crowd of people. Yes, but... As Gen Z, we're also known for being the most individualistic generation ever. The causes are many and I will not discuss them here, just wanted to say that the change of mindset and the self care are not going to cut it. The world is falling apart and now more than ever WE NEED to take care of others around us, build community, stay in touch with family and friends, help random strangers when given the opportunity, stick to a cause (even when it feels like a lost one, like most do). Going more inwards is not a solution, when most of the problems are systemic and global.

i was married to a Filipina for 39 years, before her death. I tried to learn Tagalog and made good progress. We moved to Hawaii where most Filipinos are Ilocano. I tried to learn Ilocano, very difficult. We moved back to Florida, and most of our Church is Visyan. I gave up and went back to Filipino. I still get the grammar confused. the in and um and in and mga and ang still confuse me. I love the Philippines and Filipino people. BTW Akoy puting Americano.\

The fact of the matter is, a lot of people that I am around including myself (I am a younger Gen Z so still in High School) don't have much if anything that we are really interested in and nothing really gives us a feeling of meaning. Its depressing because when we are told advice like at the end of the video to just focus on what we love and what gives us meaning we have nothing.

I understand his wish to connect on a deeper level. I was born and raised in the Netherlands but my dad was Indonesian and my mother Swedish. We spoke Dutch at home, but I did pick up Swedish as a child, because my mom spoke Swedish with my older sister and we went to Sweden almost every summer. Unfortunately, I forgot how to speak it by the time I got in my teens, but could still understand pretty well. Never learned Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian), though. It's still on my bucket list to brush up on my Swedish and learn basic Bahasa Indonesia. If I had done so earlier, my relationship with my parents would have been even better, I imagine.

Your videos have a really high quality, they're creative, so emotional, so fun, have so helpful and meaningful information. I like how you change from sad deep emotions to humour scenes. And when you said that being on KZread is a thing to fear, an uncomfortable situation, you triggered me really. Because often you see people online, influencers, creators who make wonderful content and you are thinking they are not afraid, they are outgoing, it is easy for them.
